I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, but unfortunately, I'm my opinion, this business can not be trusted.
I went here for two root canals, and on each occasion I was charged $460. That amount seemed high to me, so I decided to call my insurance and check to make sure I wasn't overcharged. My insurance provider informed me that my copay for my root canal was $250. Confused, I asked why I was charged $460 (twice). He didn't have an answer, so he contacted Root Vision Endo on 4/21 and spoke with their receptionist. After speaking with my insurance provider, he informed me that he had spoke with the receptionist, and she communicated to him that I had in fact been overcharged. I reached back out to Root Vision Endo on 4/21 to confirm that I had been overcharged, and the receptionist confirmed this with me as well. When I asked when I would receive the money, she said it would take some time because they needed payment from my insurance provider first, but that the money would be credited back to the card that I was billed on. As time passed and no refund ever showed, I started to get a bad feeling.
I reached back out to my insurance, who instructed me to contact Root Vision Endo. I called, and they told me my claim was denied for my reimbursement. I asked for an explanation and I was told I was charged $260 for the root canal, and $200 for a material that they used that wasn't covered by my insurance...but that there was an option that was covered, that was NEVER offered to me. I would have at least liked to be given the option, and had the difference explained, rather than them just assuming I could afford the extra $200 (x2).
I then had to file a grievance with my insurance provider, of which I am still awaiting a resolution. I'll find out in about a month if I'm getting any money back.
I have my fingers crossed that justice will be served. I just get so frustrated that places like this are pretty much stealing from people like me all the time. Most people just don't follow up and never realize they were overcharged.
I work full time for a non profit in Los Angeles, at an organization that literally is feeding the homeless and helping drug addicts, homeless veterans, and people with depression find recovery, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. I do it (because I love it) for a dollar under minimum wage (because of our non profit status). Living in LA is not cheap. I'm not trying to say woe-is-me, I love my life and my job, but it makes me angry when you see places like this taking advantage of people with so much less.
In summary, if you're asking me, don't come here. I regret it, and I certainly won't be going back. I just don't like the feeling of being deceived. I feel like they tricked me into overpaying, and because of it I lost $420. You've been warned. read more
