One, after swabbing the numbing agent in my mouth Dr. Elmassian immediately injected me with the large needle of the anesthetic. IT HURT LIKE HELL! Typically dentists wait at least 1 minute before they use a needle on their patients after the inside of the mouth is swabbed. It was awful but he didn't seem to care that I was almost screaming and moaning in agony. Then while he did my procedure he talked very unprofessionally to his young female assistant who clearly was uncomfortable and laughing nervously throughout Dr. Elmassian's gossip about other people. She tried her best to act interested. I think Dr. Elmassian is clueless to a fact of life that Karma applies to everyone. Anyway, I will never go back there. Terrible experience!

Recently got Delta Dental, and this was the office assigned to me. Be aware, they are only open two…read moredays a week. I arrived 15 mins early in case there was paperwork to be filled out, and there was. I will say, the front office girls were very nice and very helpful. HOWEVER... I was in because I lost a crown. I still have the tooth underneath and just needed a temporary for now. I got my X-rays done. I've seen plenty of dental xrays and these were just masses of blurry blobs on the screen. Once done, I was sent back out to the waiting room. Eventually, I was moved into an exam room. Read an entire magazine while I waited. 90 mins after my appt, the doctor came in. He proceeded to poke into my mouth with a small mirror and started to WIGGLE one of the root tips in my mouth while giving instructions to the nurse. I tried to stop him, but the man was on a mission. He went over my entire mouth multiple times, changing the numbers he gave the girl more than once, obviously confused. While he poked and prodded and mumbled, he was LEANING IN MY SHOULDER AND FOREHEAD LIKE I WAS A DESK!!!! I might as well have had IKEA stamped on my head! THEN, he says the crown next to the missing one needs to be replaced. O_O. The 'crown' he spoke of is NOT A CROWN but a real tooth. He left, and the front office girl came in and told me my total would be close to $3,000. I have insurance, so I got a discount! I made another appointment just to be polite to the girls up front, since I was pretty much in shock. I could still feel the heel of the man's hand imprinted on my forehead. I'd rather go without the crown than ever return.

As someone who did not get dental care as a child, I went…read morein with very little understanding of what my dental health was or what I needed and was frankly scared. From my first step into the office for my consultation to my latest checkup and cleaning, every person Dr. Molayem has on staff, and Dr. Molayem herself, cares about their patients. I'd gone in because I had been having awful pain in my face and was scared I needed some kind of root canal "or something". Within minutes, Dr. Molayem told me I had TMJ. At this point I had been experiencing a whole host of issues (facial pain, tingling, migraines, neck pain, tinnitus, etc) and had been to a GP, optometrist and ENT, making no progress along the way. As soon as she explained to me what I was experiencing, I felt so foolish! The pain was totally coming from the area she said. The recommendation she had was to do Invisalign, to relieve crowding in my teeth and lessen pressure I was feeling. The quote was over 4k, but after 2 years of near constant pain and debilitating symptoms, I charged it to my HSA and hoped I'd see some improvements. A year later, I can tell you that the cost, cleanings, fittings, adjustments, and follow ups have been worth it. The aligners mostly only caused minor discomfort and the results were obvious even before my alignment was complete. I'm wearing retainers now, still working down to the minimum time needed to keep my alignment in check, but my symptoms have reduced significantly, by at least 80%. Dr. Molayem's manner with her patients is caring, informative, and patient. Every time I see her or any of her staff, I know I am in good hands. Thank you everyone at Pasadena Smile Center! The quality of care in my experience is not consistent. The first time I had a dental cleaning it…read morewas lovely and the hygienist took their time, was thorough and gentle, and overall wonderful. The second time I went in, they were delayed starting as no one was at the front desk and then I proceeded to have the worst dental care experience. The hygienist spent time fiddling with the music and volume, cited the wrong side of the mouth they were about to clean (it was a deep cleaning so divided into two sessions) and had to correct them. They were actively hurting me and grabbing the side of my cheek several times throughout the process. I asked them to pause several times during the cleaning. At the initial numbing injection, I had never felt pain like that during a dental procedure and when I flinches, they just gripped my cheek harder and pushed the needle quicker. As this was my second cleaning with them, it was a total 180 degree experience to the one I had the first time with a different hygienist. This cleaning was also done far quicker than the first one. In retrospect, I should have left before the procedure started when the hygienist was indicating they were not prepared. I have empathy that everyone has a bad day, but when it involves medical care, it is different when physical harm and emotional harm is being done. I spoke to the receptionist after when I was in shock and they were very empathetic but said this hygienist had been with them a long time and was rated positively. I emailed the company through their website later and never received a response. When they texted me later to schedule a follow up appointment I expressed that I was not going to continue as I had such a horrible experience. They apologized and said they would not schedule me with the same hygienist. I was disappointed the company did not reach out to me after my email regarding my experience.
