They left me without a mover today, no apology, no reason, just didn't show up and would not answer my repeated phone calls. COMMUNICATION is key and this company, especially the owner are seriously lacking.This is a terrible way to do business and I implore you to look elsewhere for your moving needs. Update: To the "owner" Darrel, you know that you did not do my move. What would I have to gain by lying on you? I called you several times, text you and sent messages through FB messenger"which I saw that you read, and ignored) and you did not respond. I booked you two weeks in advance and you failed to show up on my moving day. I had to book another company ON MY SCHEDULED MOVING day to get me out of my old apartment. Thankfully THEY were professional, showed up and got me moved quickly. I can't believe you just lied and said you completed all booked all moves. My move was booked and you FLAKED! If you have a receipt or proof you completed my move, post it. I'll post my Facebook message to you asking you to complete my move since you want to be untruthful. I had great expectation of this crew. Here in Arizona we don't have a lot of smaller companies to choose from but here was a company who was highly recommended to me. Everything seemed fine until they arrived in the morning and they had a rental truck. That made me a little suspicious. They were able to move everything including my beautiful K.Kawaii grand piano. As a matter fact, I really didn't notice a lot of problems until after the move, Certain items got broken, scratched or not reassembled. Please make sure when you hire this company that before they leave with your payment you have examined all your goods, making sure they are in the condition they were before the move. I have use Darrell in the past. The first time was to move a couple of heavy pots. The second time was for a residential move. The bill was higher than quoted but we paid it. This last time he completely dropped the ball...twice. First, he was supposed to be at my home on Friday at 9:30. At 8:13 I received a text stating he could not make it and asked to reschedule. We agreed on Sunday.... Darrell: ......."I know this last minute stuff is not cool or professional I'm sorry Mike it's just sometimes I get set up with workers moves clients not being upfront about what they have but I am honestly sorry...I can guarantee Sunday for sure no one on that day" Saturday at 7:31pm I send a text to ask what time he will be here tomorrow. No response but since we both have apple iPhones I see he reads my text at 1:53am. Sunday. After many texts, phone calls, and IM's he completely ignores me and leaves me with the job of finding a way to move by myself. I'm disabled and can't do it myself. Luckily I was able to rent a 26' Uhaul and some friends helped out and we were able to do the move without him. We have contacted an attorney to see what options are. Hopefully you don't have to do this. I would suggest not using him. read more

Horrible Company!!!! I would normally not leave a bad review. However this was a special case. The company stated that the movers would arrive at 11 am. As they were on a job in the area so this was a great schedule. Movers arrived at 4:30. ‍ The actual "labor" piece of the company was pleasant. After 3 hours of loading the truck....and complete miscommunication within the company.....the OWNER TOLD HIS GUYS TO UNLOAD MY BELONGINGS FROM THE TRUCK...Because they had a big Job in the morning and would not be able to make that job. He stated that he and I would square up (financially) in the am. REALLY...REALLY!!!! BUYER BEWARE I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY AT ALL... BUSH LEAGUE AT BEST... SAD SAD. I didn't think we needed movers. We are capable adults after all... After this experience I will never move without calling these guys first. They were on time (early, actually), very nice guys, careful with our things and fast working. They moved all of our big furniture in just a few hours. Started off bumpy when they were late and I couldn't get ahold of Darrell but once that happened everything was great. He didn't have service while he was out of town which is why it was tough. The crew was fast and treated my items with the utmost care. They at no point slacked off and worked the entire time. They wrapped all of my furniture as well. Scheduled move for 8/25 at 8:30am. Movers did not show up. Called Eddie, Darrell, sent Facebook massage and no response.Very disappointed with professionalism, communication. We scheduled everything around this time. Update: received a call from the owner who explained what happens. He was very courteous and attempted to make it better and right. He was apologetic but took action and explained where the error took place and how he was correcting it. I truly appreciate this as his review speak for Himself. Be careful Darrell will over charge you make sure you get everything in writing and don't pay with Credit card he will add a tip to your bill without you knowing it till you check your bank statement. Be very causes. read more

Exceptionally professional, Darryl and crew showed up 20 minutes ahead of the scheduled time and started to knock out the move. By the time we had breakfast, they were moving on to the second location. I was able to finish my morning errands with piece of mind. They even finished the job earlier then the expected time. I still have no idea how they completed the job in the heat and having to go up three flights of stairs and finish in the time they did. The crew has wings and with the great service, speed and awesome rates. I am comfortable saying if you don't hire the Roots Crew then your wasting your money on the runner up! read more

We just completed our move from a rental house in Gilbert to our new home in Mesa. Darrell was recommended by our realtor and we couldn't be more pleased. From scheduling to moving day working with Roots Crew Movers was a breeze. Darryl and crew are hardworking and took AWESOME care of all of our things. My husband is super picky and, being that we were moving in to a brand new build home, was worried about any marks on walls/floors etc. I think for the first time EVER (and we've moved around a LOT) every single item was moved with no damage to any of my things and without one single scuff on any wall! They took great care wrapping and protecting all of our furniture, tvs and art and made sure everything made it to our new home in the exact condition in was picked up.
