Roots on the square in Georgetown had some good BBQ chicken pizza. The queso was okay, same with the burger. The live music was a little too loud (didn't know he was going to be there) but overall pretty good spot.

This review is solely on the bar and drinks. Walked in and the food smelled amazing! I wish we didn't eat dinner so we could get a pizza. We just got drinks for the square. The bartender was very nice and put our drinks in to go cups. The atmosphere is very cute and down to earth. They even have live music, there was a band setting up to play.

Food was good We sampled pizza and burgers Beer was ample choices Cannolis were tasty dessert Ambiance was nice Like an old country saloon But the temperature inside the business was awful So hot Sweating profusely I mentioned to the bartender it would be great to turn ac on and she just rolled her eyes and says Yes it's so hot I dunno if they are trying to save money or what but it would prevent me from visiting until January or so Open mic night Was kinda cool Wasn't a great experience but not terrible Sweaty though!

Roots is a must when visiting Georgetown, the most BEAUTIFUL Town Square in Texas...My go to is the kitchen sink... house made pizza sauce, fresh mozzarella, Canadian, bacon, pepperoni, sausage, bacon, red onions, red and green, bell peppers, artichoke hearts, black olives, mushrooms, garnished with baby leaf spinach. The dough firmly holds all those scrumptious toppings. A big shout out to Wes!! Took our order, engaged in conversation and brought our pizza to our table. Thank you Roots for 100% Food, Service & Ambiance!!

Lunch time yall!

Well, maybe everyone is tired from the week... It smells like burnt pizza, which they make pizzas so totally likely that is what happened. However, it was noxious!! The cups we were given for our drinks were gross dirty! They kindly wiped out new ones and gave them to us. The Dr Pepper wasn't hooked up, k ky carbonated water, the Lemonade was mostly water and the sweet tea was weak. $3 for waters Meatball sub- cheese and sauce was the perfect temp unfortunately the cold meatball made the sandwich gross. The Korean tacos were a bit anemic but flavor was good. This isn't our first time here and we will be back but hopefully we will have a better experience.

Really disappointed with our dinner experience. We ordered 2 Roots salads, which according to the menu are supposed to come with chicken. When our server brought the salads out, she said "2 salads with no meat". We said that no, we did want the chicken. She said that chicken would be a $4 upcharge. We said that the menu didn't say that, and she offered to bring out a side of grilled chicken to add to our salad. She came back later and said the chef reiterated that the chicken was an upcharge, and she would have to get a card from us to charge for it. By that point we had looked at the menu again and verified that the menu did not specify an upcharge. We pointed it out on the menu, and she then tried to insist that the "C" next to the soup indicated the $4 upcharge for chicken and got annoyed when I asked "isn't that for a 'cup' of soup?" She was quite rude after that, and we told her to forget the chicken. The cashier didn't ask if I wanted to add chicken or specify that it was an upcharge, in fact he barely spoke to me. The salads themselves were disappointing, very little toppings and low-quality greens. We both barely ate them. We definitely won't be returning due to the food, service, and lack of transparency in pricing.

Service was good, one guy seemed to be running everything (bar, taking orders, waiter), I got the trash can pizza (everything on it) tasted pretty good but got soggy quick probably due to all the toppings, my husband got the Korean tacos which he said were pretty decent. There was live music (Sunday afternoon) it was very loud and just ok. Lots of seating downstairs and up.

My first time here but it was an in and out. There looks like they have live music, which is always a plus. It give another pizza option on the square. The pizza was actually quite good! I will definitely be going back!

Live music on a cold rainy Sunday!

Lunch special - 2 of 3 - select beers, slice of cheese or pepperoni pizza or house or Caesar salad. Also happy hour special was $1 off select items. Bartender initially took our order but then shift changed and another person took over. She was covering tables in another area. Salad and pizza delivered at the same time. Pizza slice was NY style - very thin and cold be folded up to eat vs knife and fork. Decent amount of pepperoni which was tasty. I prefer a crispy pizza crust so found this awkward to eat. Knife and fork provided. House Salad was just ok. Black olives, mushrooms, cucumbers, shredded mozzarella and croutons clustered on top and lettuce underneath. Salads obviously premade. Mushrooms were dried out and slices of cucumbers had shriveled edges. Greek salad looked better with fresher ingredients but wasn't included in the lunch special. There was more variety in the overall menu but didn't have time for a lengthy lunch stop. Second server worked with prices and lunch special offerings with us. Beer was $7-10 per pint glass so lunch special at $10.99 w select beers is a good deal. Not a priority to go back between parking hassle and food was just ok.

The pizza place is towards the back, with a separate bar collab in front of it. Staff were great and ordering was simple; however, they did note issues with their soda machine and Coke provider while we were there. Pizza is freshly made with good ingredients (we got the margherita pizza) but the bottom of the crust was overly blackened and added some burnt bites into the mix which was not appealing. We also ordered a side of ranch for crust dipping but I would recommend skipping as it is definitely thick and store bought vs. made in house. Overall, we decided it is a great concept but pizza wise, we prefer other locations.

The bad: The gluten free crust was borderline raw. The ranch (both on the pizza and the side serving we paid extra for) was clearly out of a bottle, not fresh made. You could taste that awful soybean oil and vinegar taste. The sausage on husband's pizza tasted like plastic. Like not even as good as frozen breakfast sausage from the market. Ditto with the pepperoni. Ditto with the chicken. The mozzarella also was weird. Long strands that looked like plastic. Trying to reheat it was fruitless. Cheese refused to melt. Also plastic? Who knows. Not sure where the 11 good reviews come from. Maybe family members and friends? $65 worth of awful pizza going in the bin. There is no salvaging it. Very expensive lesson learned. Save your money and go to East Side pies. Or even just buy something from the frozen section at your market. It will be better than this.

It's a local mom and pop establishment from looking from the outside, but was confirmed clearly it was from staff. Not sure where I want to begin. I'll start with the food. I got the lunch special. 1 slice, 3 knots and a drink. They were "short stocked" on drinks so only had 3 choices. Beverage was in a bottle and was not cold. I was told they had no ice either. I got the mushroom and spinach slice. The toppings and sauce were very good however the crust was black and burnt on the bottom so I just picked off the toppings. The same with the garlic knots too. You can see in the photo too. The marinara dipping sauce was cold and was told they do not do warm dipping sauce. I do believe if the pizza and the knots were not burnt, they would have been enjoyable. I am not sure if management reads this but your staff does like you very much. However, you might want to let them know discussing other employees and past employees love lives, jail records, arrest records, making fun of someone's disabilities is not ok in the workplace let alone with customers in the restaurant. I learned wayyyyy too much about the "person" that just got fired and their age and why they were arrested and closing up your restaurant an hour early. I felt extremely uncomfortable having to listen to this!

Could not believe how good it was! The crust was thin and crisp, and the oil dripping from the bottom. And was told by someone on staff that the water comes from NY, and the recipe has not changed since before the mayor of Hutto took over the business. As I drove home, I struggled to save a piece for my wife to try, but I succeeded. And she was also pleasantly surprised. However, given that she was just in NYC a few days ago, she said it's not as good as the one she tried out there, but if she hadn't tried a slice in NYC recently, she would've said that this one is very good and reminiscent of NYC pizza. This is the first time we come really close. Prior to Anthony's Pizza, we tried Russo's in StoneHill, but this one is much better. Will definitely go back for more, with the family, either to go or eat-in. My only complaint is the price for one simple cheese slice is $4.00 + tax. A legit NYC slice in New York is not selling for $4.00, probably $2.50, but $4.00 is over the top. But if the water truly comes from NY, maybe I could be reasonable. Staff was friendly and informative. The place looked neat and clean.

Hands-down, one of the best cheese, breads, high-quality cheese crispy, crunchy cheese bread with what I really love are those crispy crunchy edges that are on the crust it's addictive. And then you're able to dip each cheese bread into that jalapeño ranch or that creamy queso. I'm telling you this right now their house made jalapeño ranch is like crack. They should bottle it and sell it if they decided to bottle it I would buy a bottle should I say I think it's better than Wingstop? Go try the pizzas as you can see. I ordered the works pizza we can see all the beautiful cuts of meats. All fresh meats, all beautifully individually, sliced fresh crunchy crust with melted cheese. Just a great bite. If you're a carnivore this is your pizza. I wanted to jazz things up and go for the honey bear pizza and I requested that they add white sauce as the base and then drizzle on top of the olive oil. I may visit Obsidian Brewery time after time after time after time and never find out how their beer is. This is because a) They have an outstanding bar and b) They have an outstanding kitchen. For me, beer is a hardship beverage you drink when there is nothing else better available. When I go to a bar, I can sometimes be looking for mix-mastering. Usually I am looking for outstanding top of the line hard spirits. * * * When I walked into Obsidian, I looked at their bar. It was love at first sight. In front of me were twenty yards of three shelves of the most wonderful bottles I could possibly imagine. Half of them I had never heard of before. * * * I settled on a Buddha's Hand Gin. Buddha and Gin rarely appear in the same sentence Never mind the same label on a bottle. I ordered it straight up. I went immediately to Nirvana. Forget the meditation and the austerities. The Buddha's Hand Gin was as good as a trip to the Himalayas. Buddha's Hand is an obscure citrus fruit that grows multiple protuberances the way some horseradishes do. It is golden and looks like a hand. Ergo the name. The Buddha's Hand Gin is a citrus tinged gin with an edge more like orange zest than like orange juice. The additional botanicals make it strong, attention grabbing, fruity and yet combative. I was absolutely fascinated. Note that Buddha's Hand Gin is only one of the many items they have to explore there. I am totally ready to do more exploring. * * * The kitchen at Obsidian is also of distinction. The savvy local guide I came with adored his Thai Curry Wood Fired Rings. I went with a Cheesy Bread. This is open-faced grilled cheese on a thick slice of bread the size of a shoebox, with a wonderful homemade tomato sauce on about 1/3 of it. It is the best cheese pizza you have ever had. It is what cheese pizza is supposed to be if you don't use the standard canned ingredients that institutional providers sell to Domino's. I was as in love with my cheese bread as I was with my citrus gin. * * * The company was also outstanding. Which is just as well because Obsidian is a social place. Lots of Leanderthals having a fine time in couples and groups. This is not a loner's loser bar. You know - the dark rooms with misfits drinking their sixth beer while watching TV. This is a good folks good times full-of-sunlight place. So you definitely want to come with good folks. * * * Good food, good bottles, good people.
