This was a very difficult reviews because it involves the food and inappropriate staff. It did smell very inviting from the parking lot so wanted to give it a try. It's a local mom and pop establishment from looking from the outside, but was confirmed clearly it was from staff. Not sure where I want to begin. I'll start with the food. I got the lunch special. 1 slice, 3 knots and a drink. They were "short stocked" on drinks so only had 3 choices. Beverage was in a bottle and was not cold. I was told they had no ice either. I got the mushroom and spinach slice. The toppings and sauce were very good however the crust was black and burnt on the bottom so I just picked off the toppings. The same with the garlic knots too. You can see in the photo too. The marinara dipping sauce was cold and was told they do not do warm dipping sauce. I do believe if the pizza and the knots were not burnt, they would have been enjoyable. I am not sure if management reads this but your staff does like you very much. However, you might want to let them know discussing other employees and past employees love lives, jail records, arrest records, making fun of someone's disabilities is not ok in the workplace let alone with customers in the restaurant. I learned wayyyyy too much about the "person" that just got fired and their age and why they were arrested and closing up your restaurant an hour early. Former New Yorker, hadn't a New York slice in a long time. Walked in and ordered one simple cheese slice to go. Ate it on the road like a typical New Yorker. Could not believe how good it was! The crust was thin and crisp, and the oil dripping from the bottom. And was told by someone on staff that the water comes from NY, and the recipe has not changed since before the mayor of Hutto took over the business. As I drove home, I struggled to save a piece for my wife to try, but I succeeded. And she was also pleasantly surprised. However, given that she was just in NYC a few days ago, she said it's not as good as the one she tried out there, but if she hadn't tried a slice in NYC recently, she would've said that this one is very good and reminiscent of NYC pizza. This is the first time we come really close. Prior to Anthony's Pizza, we tried Russo's in StoneHill, but this one is much better. Will definitely go back for more, with the family, either to go or eat-in. My only complaint is the price for one simple cheese slice is $4.00 + tax. A legit NYC slice in New York is not selling for $4.00, probably $2.50, but $4.00 is over the top. But if the water truly comes from NY, maybe I could be reasonable. I showed up early and waited around for a bit. Really hoping to get a nice slice of pizza but unfortunately, as other reviews have also stated they are not open when their hours say they are. There were a few other people waiting as well, and we were all super disappointed. I'm going to try again at some point because their pizza does look super delicious but it's really upsetting when businesses are not open during posted hours and there is no other notification flash sign posted saying that they will not be available. I was in the mood for NY style pizza without having to go into Austin to Home Slice or a similar type of pizza joint. I was pleasantly surprised when I found Anthony's Pizza here in Hutto. I had some friends coming and was excited to give them a try. I ordered a half Pepperoni and half Chicken Bacon Ranch pizza pie along with garlic knots. The chicken bacon ranch was a hit with my friends who've never had it. I'm from Brooklyn and that's a standard topping selection at various pizzerias out there . I also liked the bacon chicken ranch highly recommend this topping from here. The pepperoni half wasn't all that however. I'll have to see if the sauce was just off but I was disappointed it. The garlic knots was good I would come back here again especially for the chicken bacon ranch pizza! Their pizza is tasty and the guy at the counter was very kind and attentive. I was told 5:20 for pickup but when I arrived he said it would be 8 more minutes. I think it's because I order my pizza "well done", meaning I like a little more bite to my crust. No big deal on the wait. What was a nice touch was that he offered if I wanted to wait in my car he would bring it to me- I thought that was pretty cool. The prices are a little high but the pizza is HUGE and done right. Give them a try! I did call and no one picked up but I called again and they picked up. So if you don't get an answer on the first ring just wait a couple minutes and call back. It's a small pizza shop and from what I could tell the guy was working solo so I'm sure it gets busy very quickly trying to run front of house and also have pizzas out and fresh for everyone. read more

We found real NY pizza, and I'm hooked. If you been in Hutto for more than 17 years like myself you can truly appreciate really good food. It's absolutely delicious, this restaurant is Hidden in strip center of the Commons in Hutto, Anthony's pizza is what I call "a taste of great food away from home." This small-town, locally owned and operated joint will satisfy your taste buds for sure! The owner himself indeed makes everything from scratch from the sauces to the dough! Pizza crawl no. 14: Got a Margherita pie for takeout. Their 18" pie is a normal sized pie in NY/NJ, not those little 14" pies that many shops around here sell for almost as much money. What I liked: 18" pie = foldable slices; light, super flavorable sauce and mozz; plenty fresh basil. What I didn't like so much: wayyyy too much cheese (I know there can never be enough cheese, right); not enough sauce (there was a layer of cheese on dough but not enough splashes of that great sauce on top of cheese); a tad too oily from cheese; dough was pretty flat and dense, no air from fermentation so edge was somewhat hard) but undercarriage was actually well done. My wife and I went on a Friday evening after work. Immediately walking in you could tell that the place was hit with a rush. Only 3 employees working at the time and each one of them were very courteous and very friendly. It was obvious that you had to order at the register and not from the table. Even with the rush our food came out delicious. Did it take a little bit to come out, yeah but it's a Friday night and they were slammed. After things calmed down we were approached by one of the employees which turned out to be one of the owners who apologized for the wait and took the time to talk to us. The place was nice and cozy. Update time: I gave Anthony's another try today..I called about six times (literally) before I was able to get someone on the phone. Once I did, the girl that I was speaking with was nice and told me the wait was about 45 min for 1 pizza, which was fine. I would update to 5 stars but the amount of times I had to call was pretty ridiculous. The pizza was AWESOME. Best za in Hutto, hands down. I was super excited to try this spot out and was disappointed to hear they no longer had slices when I went in. About 6 people behind the counter and no pizza? Nothing in the oven?What are they getting paid to do exactly? Eat the pizza? When told I would have to buy a whole pizza if I wanted any, I left. Loved this place! My wife introduced me to this place on day and I was not disappointed. Plenty if different and unique options to choose from. Customer service was great. They do dine in (they bring it to you at your table) or you can take out. The dine in area is very clean with a television to watch while you eat, but not too loud that you cannot hear the others in your group if you want to sit and talk while you eat. The slices are big (not gigantic) and I would have been fine with just 2 2 of the slices were a thinner NY style crust and the 3rd slice was a thicker Detroit style crust. Both were very tasty, and I can only imagine they would be even better if I had ordered a whole pizza vs by the slice. The pepperoni roll has potential, but there was not enough filling. After seeing all the reviews and shout outs, we decided to take a drive and check it out. I am really glad we did, great experience! We stopped in and there were a few people waiting, no line. We were able to order right away. We got 4 slices, 1 cheese, 2 pepperoni and 1 Texan. We ordered a Sicilian whole pizza to go. We also grabbed two glass bottle cokes. The pizza came quick, had great flavor and a nice crunch to the crust. The pepperoni was my favorite, although all were really good. The atmosphere reminded me of eat in places when I was growing up, people talking, Pac-Man playing and folks behind the counter calling out the pizzas! I quite enjoyed it. I did also enjoy the great pictures on the way of New York. We tasted the Sicilian a bit later, we just had cheese no toppings, it's super good. The cheese is amazing. So far so good. Brooklyn style crust- slight char, crisp and chewy goodness. Owner and his awesome assistant (his daughter I think) were quite busy busting out the pies. Set up was nice, I took a large pie home and devoured half of it...(took my pepperoni's off and saved them for my girls) Hopefully I have some left over for when my daughters get back.. If not, that's a whole lot of burpees to burn calories for some delicious NY style pizza. His other expert pie maker will be coming by in 2 weeks so they can get to normal business hours and we are looking forward to that! I equate this pizza up to my favorite place in New York, and also Florios in San Antonio. The family there is from Brooklyn (I think) and has their dough shipped in also.
