A new location and a new look. Off The Wall Sandwich is a sparkling clean and colorful restaurant…read more With vibrant wall art, and striking lighting, the interior has an energetic vibe. This is a busy spot for classic American favorites: burgers, sandwiches and wings. From my previous experience, I knew it's worth checking the menu beforehand. For someone who is trying to make healthier choices, but not salad, this might be a good idea. I remember the last time I had the Classic Grilled Cheese Melt. This time, to avoid beef, bacon, or fried chicken, I decided to substitute a burger with grilled chicken breast for an additional $1. The Frenchie was my choice. I asked for the included Bison dip on the side and added Grilled Cremini Mushrooms for another $1. I simply couldn't find any ready-made combinations that suited my taste. All the burgers, melts and sandwiches come with your choice of fries or tater tots. We waited longer than expected for our food. The restaurant started filling up after we arrived. There were a lot of takeout orders while the dinner rush was starting. They should have a parallel system in the kitchen to keep the dining room moving at its own pace. Anyway, my sandwich was good. The chicken was perfectly grilled. The mushrooms and onions were flavorful, and the provolone cheese was melted and delicious. It's good that I asked to have the Bison dip on the side. We enjoyed the mountain of fries and onion rings (we really liked the breading on the onion rings). The Mac and Cheese was basic, but classic and very tasty. Unfortunately, our feedback on the Steak Hoagie was not so good. It wasn't as expected - a juicy, Buffalo-style, meat and cheese sub. My partner said that too much spice rub made the sandwich salty and dry. It wasn't the experience of dripping, shaved steak covered with lots of melted cheese, grilled peppers and onions. There was none of it. It was dry, smallish and disappointing. Our server Kimora took good care of us. She was smiling, and made our stay very pleasant.

Friendly employees. Nice atmosphere. Most importantly, sandwiches were delicious!read more

The sign on the door said they open at noon. So we settled into a park bench at the corner and watched people strolling in the sunshine until they open the doors. One very energetic waitress was covering all three rooms. She was quick to apologize for any delay. My iced tea came up very rapidly, and I took a few minutes to look over the entire menu. Despite all the enticing mini items, I ordered what I had been craving: the beer battered fish fry with all the sides. It did not disappoint. I have had a fish fry or two in my life, and I'm not gonna argue with anyone. Wallenwein's is my new favorite fish fry. There's plenty of food to choose from. Salads, soups, sandwiches, and wraps, pizzas, and wings. Everything that we have tried has been absolutely delicious! I love the primitive antique vibe going on in this 19th century historically accurate tavern.

It was good but I'm a Chicagoan so I have to say I prefer the Italian beef sandwiches over this. Beef on weck is more of a sliced beef served on a salted kimmelweck roll which has salt and caraway seeds and prepared horseradish on the side. Yes it was good and I'd probably get it again but if you grew up around here, it's a local fave. The place is like old rustic and had a nice vibe to it. Great service too!

Seasoning food after the fact is fine, but never as good as during the preparation. My seabass was tasteless and was sat on top of a mediocre risotto...which is saying something since it was a Gouda and red pepper risotto. Also unseasoned overcooked green beans on the side. Criminal at the price. My husband's giant steak was also under-seasoned as were the sad mashed potatoes and carrots that came along with it. The steak was good quality, cooked fine, but could have been exceptional if it had any flavor beyond being a good piece of meat. The Thai shrimp appetizer was good but if you put Thai chili sauce on anything it will taste good. The scallop was decent but again not really seared well and lacking flavor even with the balsamic drizzle. Would not come back to waste hundreds of dollars on overpriced unseasoned food again. I will say the service was good and the staff were lovely. Too bad the food is mid. Drive to a real restaurant that cares about their food prep like Prescotts provisions or Oliver's or Black Iron bystro. Skip Rick's.

Walking up the path to get into the restaurant is quiet and serene. When entering the restaurant you enter a portion of dining room and can see the bar. Super nostalgic. The food, drinks, and dessert were all fresh and delicious. I had the Norwegian Salmon and a glass of Col Taylor (Bourbon). Paired wonderfully. My wife had the prime rib with a glass of Jingle Juice. She loved them. The service was top tier and consistent. I thoroughly enjoyed small talk with the staff in between meals. Overall my wife and I love this restaurant. It has become my favorite place. If you like your proteins well done, you might be very happy. Spinach salad with goat cheese, blueberries, strawberries is excellent. I had the dressing on the side. Wooden chairs very uncomfortable.
