Went to see some live music and have a couple of drinks. We sat at the bar and the service was amazing. Nice selections of beers and drinks. They even run weekly specials. Sight lines in the venue for the stage are great and the sound was good. They also have a full dinner menu and although we did not order any food the food we saw being brought out looked and smelled good. Will definitely be back for the food to give it a try read more

Spent an evening dining out on the patio enjoying great food, a fun band, good company and fantastic service. It was nice watching the golfers finish up for the day and then the deer wandering around on the course. My brisket sandwich was SO good. We went for lunch based on reviews. Would give 5 stars for service but the food was 2 to 2.5. Fried banana peppers were good enough for a frozen product: the portion is big (as is the price) so good for a table but not an individual appy. Beef brisket on weck (their version of a Buffalo favorite Beef on weck) was very underwhelming! Smaller than average bun with equally small amount chopped "smoked" beef brisket where the smoke was almost undetectable. The bun was loaded with course salt on top which thankfully brushed off easily. Where's the horseradish sauce? Nope. None. Or so it seemed. Served with seasoned potato chips which were tasty but were ungodly salty. And.. wait for it... 3 see-through thin pickle chips in a separate plastic take-out cup which probably cost them more than the pathetic pickle they put in it. Why bother? So not to sound entirely negative the Grilled cheese with beef brisket was the winner and would be worth a reorder. Upgraded to Truffle fries which were also a pedestrian from-frozen frozen product also with way too much salt but were tasty. But then truffle anything is good. Bottom line: Not going to rush back except maybe to hear some music and a refreshment; maybe share a basket of deep-fried breaded banana peppers. Warning: If you have high blood pressure you may want to be cautious because of the salt overload in seemingly everything. The food had no soul. The hawk burger which is made with applewood bacon and a stuffed banana pepper and garlic aoli had absolutely no flavor. It was such a disappointment. I can't understand how underwhelming the burger was with so many flavorful components. The burger didn't even taste like it was seasoned. The smoked brisket on week was a little better, but was still unimpressive. The sandwich needs something to tone the saltiness of the roll down, perhaps some sweet bbq sauce or sweet and spicy bbq sauce. The sandwich is literally meat and bread with no flash or much flavor to it. The sandwich felt incomplete. The wings were pretty good though. 7.5/10. They were the best part of the meal. The house made pickles were great too, but still not good enough to make me want to come back. The service started off good, but quickly fell to mediocre. The server didn't seem very friendly. I don't even think she smiled. When more people came in my table fell to the way side until I called for the check. The restaurant itself was outdated. Who would have thought you could find a golf course at the end of a dead end road across from an airport. Well we did. Turns out they have good food year round even in the dead of a Buffalo winter. In addition to a bar and restaurant they have entertainment almost nightly. On the night we went for dinner with friends, it was Comedian night. The entertainment was like riding up to the top of a Rollercoaster. There were 5 comedians. The first one tried everything to find what topic would get the crowd going. Kind of like throwing darts at a board but mostly missing. Unfortunately, he never hit the target. The second and third comedians progressively got better but need more practice in front of crowds. The forth finally had us laughing but the fifth one, the headliner, had the crowd right from the start. Great job. As far as the food goes, it wasn't bad. The Apple Cranberry Margarita lacked something (flavor). It was mostly watered down colored sugar water. I would never order it again and don't recommend it. The French Onion Soup was average. The melted cheese was good but the broth was a little too salty for my taste. The Fish Fry was good. The best part of it was the Cole Slaw. It was made the way I like it, tangy but not mayonnaisey. I ordered my fish coated in Cajun Panco and deep fried. It could have had a little more spice in the batter. I will go back again to try other menu items like their signature burger. read more

First time here, knew it was back here somewhere hidden, across from the Buffalo Airport. Great location, plenty of parking, reasonable cover charge , depending on band. Smaller dance floor, but plenty of tables to sit order food, and drinks. In warmer months theres the golf course, and covered patio. The fairways and greens are close to pristine. Well kept and clean. The club house is clean with a good ambiance of natural lighting and ceiling lights. The service at the bar was courteous and friendly. I ordered two hot dogs, French fries, and soft drink at the turn. Super impressed with the quality and taste of the food. Really enjoy seeing live shows at this venue - even though it can get really crowded and warm inside . Truffle fries were tasty with a massive portion for the price . The band , Second Hand News , sounded great on stage . $10 cover to see the show , which is reasonable . Our server was attentive . I like that there is a designated sign at the bar where you can wait to be served . Wish they had a bigger dance floor for busy nights . Outdoor space is pretty cool as well . It is a bit hidden in the far back of the neighborhood - but I guess that's good for the noise . I'll be returning for live music again soon . read more

I recently went to Diamond Hawk to see Nashville North and line dance with some friends. The event was moved inside due to possible rain which was a little upsetting since the outside set up was large and the inside set up with the stage took up the majority of the dance floor. Regardless we all had a great time. I personally did not get any food but a few of my friends did and their portions were HUGE, looked appetizing and everyone said it was delicious. The bar was a bit crowded, but the bartender I repeatedly interacted with was very personable & a true gem. I wish I remembered her name to give her a shout out! read more

Went to Diamond Hawk to see one of our favorite local bands (Dakota Brothers Band) play. We were seated outside on the patio and ordered dinner. I chose the BBQ Brisket platter and upgraded the regular fries to truffle fries. The portion size was generous, brisket was tender and the BBQ was perfectly balanced between sweet, spicy and tangy. I did not particularly care for the coleslaw (too sour for my tastes) but the rest of my food was delicious. The venue was quite busy between normal dinner patrons, band/bar traffic, and a golf tournament so I'll cut them some slack, but the service was pretty slow. It took awhile to get drinks and for anyone to check on us. That being said, the food exceeded expectations and all the employees were very friendly. read more

So my husband golfs here during the summer and he received an email that they were serving a fish fry and that there would be live music. We chose to do a reservation (Recommended). We were sat promptly and it was a nice size dining room. Our reservation was at 530. There was no rushing to get the next group seated. It was a relaxing dinner with live music. We had soup, dinner and dessert. Music started about 630. Most tables were filled. They had to celebrations of birthdays in the corner. Bar was filled as well. 2 couples came in without reservations - One sat at the bar and the other waited for a table in the hallway. Why we recommend a reservation. Menu was large and lots of great choices, but with it being Friday during lent, we went with fish. I think there only other options were salad and Mac and Cheese. We each started out with the french onion soup. It was hot, but once you broke the cheese it stayed a nice warm temperature. Great Flavor! I had the lemon-pepper fish and hubby had the fish fry. Both came with side of fries, coleslaw and pasta salad. Our plates were empty for good reason. Flavors were good and nothing really needed seasoning or tartar sauce. So good. We can't wait to come back when the patio is open and we can choose from the menu. Dessert had only a few options. We chose the donuts with maple glaze sauce. It was good. Drinks were good - a little pricey but nice to listen to the music. Food prices seem about right for the nice ambiance. We wore jeans and nice shirts. Wasn't impressed. There was a sign as soon as you walked in that said "please wait to be seated" - After standing there for a few minutes and feeling out of place, we made our way into the main dining room/ bar area. I approached the bar to ask if it was open seating or if we had to wait. The bartender said we could sit anywhere we wanted, so we did just that. While the food was good and service was okay, my real issue came towards the end. We had a gift card/certificate which didn't cover the full cost, so I left cash to cover myself, and my friend left her debit card to cover her portion. The waitress returned with the little black book and we quickly discovered that the full remaining balance was charged to my friends debit card. I immediately went up to the bar to correct it and the waitress said she thought the cash was her tip! What?! Even if it was a little mix up, she should have clarified that before running the card. They had to reverse the transaction and re run it after taking the cash off the balance. Whole situation was really frustrating! read more

Last year, we paid $5.00 to go hear live music there. This year it's $10.00. I have no problem paying $10.00 to hear a band that I enjoy going to see; however, this place was so overcrowded and uncomfortable it ended up being a terrible evening for us! We couldn't even hear the band, let alone find a place to sit or even stand comfortably! The last 2 times I was there, they had the whole left side, which is usually reserved for people with chairs, taken up with private parties?? Not sure why you would do that on a band night but ok, whatever! A large white tent was also set up by the band on the left side (shielding the sound guy in case it rained, I guess), so even if you could sit on the left, you couldn't really see the band anyways! We wanted to grab a bite to eat, but that was impossible. We asked if we could put our name on a list for a table and we were told that if we could find the hostess we could ask, but they were pretty much sold out for the night? ok! Maybe they should tell you that at the door, before you pay $10.00 to get in! Never did find that hostess! Since we were hungry, we spotted a pizza stand (on the left side of course) So, we paid $6.00 and shared a SMALL slice of dry pizza which they were selling outside, to hold us over! When the band went on break around 9:00 p.m we were finally able to find a table because some people left. I asked a guy waiter for a menu, he said sure. He never came back! We then asked a girl waitress for a menu, and we were told that the kitchen was now closed! Awesome! So we finally got a table but no food! Music started up again shortly thereafter, still couldn't hear a thing because the crowd was still way too loud! Got up and left!! I'm sorry but for $10.00 cover we should be able to get a seat or at least stand somewhere comfortably and listen to the band that we just paid $10.00 to come and see! I was torn between three and four stars for a review for Diamond Hawk, but I'm giving it 4 stars based on how well-kept the golf course is. I've only played here once but it wasn't the best experience. In my opinion, the layout is not great. It's like they crammed together all the holes in the front nine, making the front more difficult than it should be. I struggled on the front. I watched a friend of mine who is also a 10 handicap like me, triple bogey the first three holes. But then you get to the back nine and all the holes are wide open and much easier. It's like they punish you to get hen reward you on the back. I just wish there was more balance. What really brings it down for me to consider 3 stars was that we played here in the early spring and ended up waiting an hour to tee off because of frost. I understand why they do that, but a warning for those of us with early tee times would've been great. read more

This is my first time at Diamond Hawk Golf Restaurant and Bar. I am So pleasantly surprised!! We attended a special event featuring Bourbon and BBQ. This was an awesome event! The food was amazing and the featured Bourbon was from Iron Smoke Bourbon out of Fairport, NY. This was a perfect delivery of quality products. The pairing of good and drink was perfection. My husband & I went there on Saturday for dinner and to see a band. Made reservations and paid the cover charge at the door. Our reservation was pushed back a half hour because of a golf outing that ran over. I had no problem with that. The waitress/hostess seats us as this crappy table along the wall where you can't even see the band and their strobe light was shining right in our eyes. She says, "is this ok". I said no & asked if it was ok if we sat at another table. She gives me this pained looked and says "No, all the table are reserved", I said, "we have reservations. Why cant we sit at that table?" She says "it's out of my control but I can ask someone" Really? I asked to be moved from one table of four to another table of four. What is the issue? She comes back and says "No, sorry". So we sit down. The purple strobe light is shining in our faces and the table of 8 next to us has all their chairs pushed up against our table. I go up to the hostess stand where there is this trolly looking girl who looked about 16 max, and I asked can we please get another table. She was so rude! She starts huffing & puffing saying, "you can talk to someone cause I'm not dealing with this" Really? Never in my life have I ever been treated like this when I asked to be seated at a different table. Were we not good enough to sit at the other table? We left. I wouldn't have a "child" speak to me like that. It's a tacky rude place with marginal food and terrible service! I work for a large local company and part of my job is booking events like golf outings. Guess what place just came off my list. read more

This is the first time I've been here, I'm not a golfer but they offered a really nice Mother's Day brunch which btw the food and service was amazing. My mother and my wife both enjoyed the food and the mimosas. However, and this is what will play a major factor in making it difficult to decide if we return... It was a buffet setting, servers didn't take our orders or bring food. They brought 2 rounds of beverages. Gratuity was included which is fine because I consider myself a pretty good tipper anywhere I go, but taking it upon themselves to add a $36 gratuity when gratuity is typically based on service is absurd. Which as I digress, it was a buffet setting in which the customers served themselves. As I said earlier the food was great and when a server was needed she was nice but I don't feel adding a gratuity equal to the cost of a ticket is appropriate. I was told that this is recently under new ownership. Came with friends to watch a cover band while having dinner. The menu offered a nice twist and we had Brisket on Weck, Turkey Reuben, and a Turkey Sandwich at our table. The side options included fries, pasta salad, mac and cheese and other options that I can't remember. The food was fresh and flavorful. The band was a lot of fun but was a little too loud when wanting to share a meal with friends. Would come again but either to watch a band or to eat; not both at the same time. read more

Played 9 holes for the first time at this public golf course. I understand it is under new ownership, and I benefited from the generosity of a "corporate member" for today's round. Good location - easily accessible whether you live north/south/east/west in the Buffalo area. Very close to the Buffalo Niagara International Airport, so close we enjoyed some of the private jets flying overhead on a couple holes. Public golf in the area can be rough (pun intended) depending on our weather and the quality of the guests that may be visiting on any given day. Well today we had an afternoon tee time so didn't expect it to be too busy. Small driving range, nice practice greens. Probably would have been a fine time to play 9 except with no starter the four guys in front of us pretty much lied when we asked what tee time they had - no way they should have been in Front of us (and kept playing from tee boxes over their head.) Will definitely come back and try the entire course. I can't wait to see the changes to come. Heard the new carts are delayed (like cars are these days). Course in good shape. Nice to have a barbecue option to have some good eats after our round. read more

A true test of golf; played here (two threesomes) on 9/18/18. The course was in very good shape, with many challenging tee shots and approaches. Some variation in the holes which is nice - the back nine opens up more than the front. Reasonable green fees with free GPS in the carts (bonus). The short game area (for a public course) is darn nice - bentgrass teeing area, a putting green, and a separate chipping green. Only downside at the 19th hole - they ran out of Tanqueray...bring extra balls! read more

HUNT Real Estate's annual golf outing for the United Way Fundraiser event was held here this year. I loved the venue. To be honest, I didn't know that it existed. When I got here I was pleasantly surprised. I was working the event (driving a golf cart of beer around to all of our people). We had two carts with beer so we split the course and just drove opposite each other to everyone. This was a private event so there wasn't anyone here that we didn't know. There was a lunch before the actual event started, during registration and whatnot. The burgers were essentially hockey pucks (yes, they were that burnt). And they also ran out of rolls? Confusing, but I wasn't eating lunch anyway so I didn't care. Our boss cared, since we were paying for everything. The dinner was pretty nasty, too. It was either steak or chicken. The steak was very well done and also pretty fatty. You'd think for everyone having to pay $140 just to attend the event, they would get good food. We had purchased 13 cases of beer before the event and...we ran out. That was our bad. I asked the staff if they had more beer we could buy off of them, money not being an issue. They said they would check the basement (even though I was staring at cases of beer behind the bar, but whatever). Literally 20 minutes later, the girl came back and told me they could put 20 beers in my cart, 20 in our other girls cart, and 50 in each of the coolers at the two stations we had set up at two spots along the course, and it would be "at least $150 for both of us." Again, not my money, so I said sure. At least we didn't have to make a beer run. That would've been embarrassing. All in all, it was a fun event and the course was really pretty. Appreciated the staff being able to accommodate us running out of beer, and they were pretty gracious hosts. Food was disgusting, but ya win some ya lose some. Had dinner there last night (to use a gift certificate by 12.25.21) and to enjoy the CHRISTMAS MUSIC ??? from Gregg Sansone......Not only disappointed in the music......NOT ALL CHRISTMAS MUSIC.... heard 4 songs, then left...2 Christmas, 2 not......That being said....food was AWFUL AND VERY EXPENSIVE.....my 1/2 chicken dinner (served with plain fries after I was offered sweet potato fries) and a tiny piece of ICE COLD corn on the cob.......appetizer ordered came out same time as dinner......WILL NOT GO BACK.....very confused by the positive reviews....must be from friends and family members who want the new owners to succeed...... read more

We made reservations for a Saturday night a week ahead of time to dine inside. An employee called us on Friday to confirm our reservation. When we arrived on Saturday we were told that they had a golf tournament that day and there was a dinner that followed so there was no indoor seating. The person who called us on Friday did not know this ???? Worse yet they had limited seating outside and made us walk around the long way to view the patio to see if we wanted to dine there - considering there was imminent rain and quite windy conditions, this was not an acceptable alternative. When asked why the girl who called us to confirm did not know that inside seating was not available that day, the guy at the front door offered no explanation or apology. Rather he was quite rude and very short with us. Needless to say we will not be back and will let everyone know how we were treated. Buffalo area has too many good restaurant alternatives to waste time with this place. read more
