The Senville LETO Mini Split Air Conditioner for the 5x10 office I have on my carport had stopped…read morecooling the room. A technician was sent out to assist us. He was professional and courteous, but had only 3 options for us after a cursory review of the unit and finding out this was self installed and did not have a warranty on the work: 1. The refrigerant "might" be the cause. We can recharge the unit for 585.00. 2. Can do a full inspection and repair what issue is found, costing $2,000.00. 3. Can sell a new unit for $7,000.00. As we are selling the house, we opted for the recharge since the unit is less than 3 years old. After the recharge, he pointed the thermometer in the vent which read 45 degrees. Even though the air was barely blowing, I could feel it was cold so I figured it was fixed. The tech packed up, asked for payment (85.00 for service call and 585.00 for gas), and then left. I never received an invoice saying exactly what work was completed...and forgot to ask since it was in the middle of the work day. No invoice was emailed to me, although I did get a notice of the total charged to my credit card. Next day, the AC was not working again. a week later I called another AC vendor that had helped my son with replacing his home AC. This guy was fast and efficient, and laughed out loud when I quoted the pricing from the other company. The first thing he did was check the gas, which was almost empty. My system holds 30 ounces and he put in 28. The next thing he did shocked me: he checked the filters on the air handling unit. The filters were dirty, which this guy said could be part of the problem. Today, I have the unit set to 82 and can barely stand to be in there it is so cold. I hate feeling like I was taken advantage of, and I am not saying that is what happened. My warning to any customers considering this vendor: 1. Ask for exactly what is covered on a service call. 2. Ask for an invoice detailing the work completed if/when you need to call another company to follow up on the issue. 3. Check available resources for unit maintenance to ensure the basics are completed before paying for a service call. ____________________________________________ UPDATE: 9/6/2023 The owner of the business called me today to review our experience and the service provided. I recounted the details as best I could and shared my concern with him about the issues detailed above. As a result of our exchange, I have decided to update the review to 5 stars for the following reasons: 1. I was contacted in less than 24 hours to see what could be done to not only resolve the issue, but also recover a poor customer service experience. 2. Brandon spoke with me, not to me or at me. I was heard and my concerns were explored and addressed. The exchange was professional and courteous while not making me feel like I was being placated or patronized. 3. A solution was provided that was beyond fair and more than what I expected. Regardless if the solution provided resolves the AC issue, it exceeds the common standard applied to customer service today. This is mostly likely due to the fact the Signature Heating & Cooling is a locally owned and operated business and wants to take care of their community.
