My account manager called this handyman through Yelp because I needed some work done at a store I have in Tucson. Before I could even properly introduce myself or explain what I needed, he immediately started speaking to me in an incredibly rude and disrespectful manner, even calling me "obnoxious." The most frustrating part is that he didn't even take the time to listen to what I was calling about. I was simply trying to introduce myself and discuss a potential job. Instead, I was met with unnecessary hostility and an attitude that was completely unprofessional. If you don't want to deal with potential customers, that's your choice--but then why maintain a business listing and take calls from people looking for your services? There is absolutely no excuse for treating someone with disrespect when they are calling about hiring you. I called looking for a handyman. I also had ceiling crack repair that does not look good, making the ceiling damage quite obvious. It will have to be redone. The Helpful Handyman is Dave plus his crew of 4-5 other helpful people. They've been helping us for over a year: plumbing (replaced 3 drip lines around our front patio, repaired leaks), replaced a ceiling fan, replaced small (& annoying) light bulbs in patio wall, repaired holes in plaster walls and painted the room, and demolished a large model railroad layout and left the room very clean. They're veery nice people, work efficiently and they sometimes come sooner than scheduled if they finish another job sooner than expected. Dave make's sure it's OK to come at a different time. We used Dave for a few years. He mounted the tv in our bed room to the wal. the place where the cords go into the wall is hanging out they just popped it it was never properly screwed in. They will brake things and not tell you. With hopes you just never realize on your own. As Daves company grew he started sending us the worst guys he had!!! Because we are nice people and never complained. He sent a kid one time to fix bricks in our house from a plumbing problem. The kid had never done brick work in his life!!! It looks like crap. and when I said something to Dave about it. His response was you never scrubbed it. That want Dave does blame on the customer. Then we had them install a microwave above our oven. Once again 2 guys with no experience. Needless to say our microwave is barely attached. We still never said anything to him about any of these issues. I didn't want to be a Karen. BUT the icing on the cake was. We had a appointment set up to put lights in our ceiling. I work from home and my husband had plans to go play gold for the day. We called the nite before to confirm the time. After 30 minutes I called Dave and said where are they. "he said they are just down the street getting gas". I've heard that line before. I told him just forget about it. And he was so rude!!!! Now my guys don't have work and blah blah blah. So Dave will come to your house the first few times and he does do ok work. He does this to feel you out. And see if you are heaven forbid very nice or cool or old person. He will then start sending you this new guys that have no clue what they are doing!!!! Stay clear of this company at all coast! Cals plumping is amazing, and so Ace Handman Service. If they mess something up they will come back and fix it. Not yell at you like Dave does. If I could give 1000 Stars I wouldn't hesitate! I was gifted a beautiful 70 in flatscreen TV. It had to be unwrapped and put in place and connected to the cable box. I knew Helpful Handyman from several years ago & the owner Dave was extremely dependable. An appointment was made at my convenience. Right on time Evan appears & there are no words as to how fantastic, patient & knowledgeable he is. There was a TV remote charged by Solar or a special size charging cord unfortunately unbeknownst to me not included in the purchase. Without hesitation he found the charging cord 15 minutes away at Ace Hardware. Back in a flash he said the purchase of the small charger wire was "on him " ... he can attest it brought tears to my eyes. He restored my faith there really are very very sincere nice people in this world! In a flash with his expertise ~ everything was up & working! His patience In explaining the features of the TV .. there are no words. I am remote challenged somewhat !!!! He also discarded the huge box and packaging in our community dumpster effortlessly . Evan is living proof to me not all Superheroes wear a cape! If you are searching for a Very qualified honorable Handyman that provides multiple services don't hesitate. David is very professional, quick and friendly. Had an issue with the toilet not flushing and garage door sticking. He had part to replace flushing mechanism and fixed leaky shutoff valve. He also advised me of getting garage door lubricant and this fixed the garage door issue. I highly recommend him for any job you need done. We called Dave to install an under sink water filtration system. He was professional, quick and very experienced. We had to wait for a longer faucet stem to be sent to us because of our granite countertop. When it arrived, Dave sent out his guy Derryk. Derryk completed the change and hookup very quickly, so I asked if he could fix one our bathroom sinks which had a frozen valve and old Moen faucet that wasn't operating right. It was a complicated job. Derryk was like Superman! He even replaced the faucet screens! These guys can fix anything! I'm Very grateful to have found them . These guys are great. I connected with them through Yelp and they were very responsive. I had originally arranged with Dave to have a new pull out hose on my kitchen faucet installed. They quoted a price of $79 which I felt was very reasonable and they were able to schedule me within a day or two. The day they were to come I learned that one of my windows was leaking and needed to be caulked until it could be replaced. I called Dave and he was willing to do it for me...and to not charge me more than the $79 quoted for the hose replacement! Both jobs were done in a quick and professional manner.
