After a terrible experience with another A/C company, their knowledgeable, gimmick-free approach was a breath of fresh air. No "spin the wheel" tactics--just a real conversation. I sent their General Manager, Jim, the estimate I'd received from the other guys and a separate second opinion along with my concerns. Instead of speculating, Jim sent James out to evaluate our system personally. James spent two hours inspecting everything and discovered the previous company had recommended a massive amount of unnecessary equipment and failed to mention that the actual issues were caused by their own poor installation. The best part? Cool Willy's didn't charge us a dime for the visit, calling it a "re-evaluation." The next day, they sent an estimate for the actual repairs that was less than half the price of the original quote. It's rare to find this level of integrity.

In the 7 years since the first time I called them, I've used Silverado a handful of times for small…read morestuff and they've always been reliable - but last week Rodney really went above and beyond: I had 2 really old shower faucet cartridges that needed to be replaced (and I don't like doing them myself in case they break off inside the valve body) but when he took the first valve cover off we realized the retaining clip was missing (probably corroded into pieces long ago) and only age & friction were holding in that cartridge. I made a quick run to Ace to see if they had any replacement clips while he checked his truck for any spares. When I came back empty handed I found him using the one good clip I had from the second shower as a template to make a new clip out of wire from his truck. Instead of being stuck w/o water all day while driving across town to plumbing store to find the part, this guy had me up and running in 30 extra minutes.

Including a text, five hours after expected, saying the plumber had arrived. He had not. Some time later, he called to let me know it would be another 30 minutes or so. His work is to the highest standards, as he coached his helper in many parts of the jobs. Then he fixed an old shower valve, restoring it to ease of use and correct hot/cold locations. And lastly, he cleaned out the water heater, where the drain was clogged with sediment. Also installed a pressure relief bladder. When he started to replace the completely used-up sacrificial anode rod, he did not have the unusually long non-standard part required. So he drove miles to get the right part, and returned to finish the job beautifully. All this was done for a very reasonable yet fair price. Excellent work! Thanks Glenn!
