It's not very rooftop-y compared to other places imo. I'm being picky here but over half of their seating area is under a canopy, and you only get the true rooftop experience if you're seated by the balcony. Looking at other photos on here it seems like the canopy comes down at times so maybe in the spring/summer it'll be better. The drinks and food were good. Service is slow though and it seems like the place only has like two servers for the whole area. The server recommended the shy guy to me and I liked it! Not too sweet and not too strong. The truffle fries (4/5) were great and you can easily split it among a group. The spicy rigatoni (3.5/5) was good too and cooked well but it's pretty basic imo. I wouldn't recommend this place if you want to do dinner since service is slow. But for drinks/appetizers, this is not a bad place to go to. read more

I wanted to thank Luis, Ashley, and Onyella for a great experience at the rooftop restaurant in Walnut Creek! It was my daughter's 17th birthday, and we drove all the way out there from Riverbank, California, specifically to eat at this restaurant. Eating at this restaurant and looking out over the city was her number one wish on her birthday list. Onyella was very kind and hospitable when we arrived. I quietly shared with her that it was my daughter's birthday and she put things into action. Ashley, our server, arrived at the table with a happy birthday card for my daughter and such a pleasant and friendly personality. She was very happy and upbeat, and just set the tone for our restaurant experience. She made sure she took great care of us, constantly coming back to check in on us, refilling our drinks, and seeing if we needed anything. She even sang happy birthday at the end of our meal and brought a cupcake with a candle in it for my daughter. This was so kind! Luis, the manager, checked in on us during our visit and wanted to make sure that we were having a great experience, and asked if we needed anything. He was very polite and friendly and is definitely the example for the establishment. You have no idea how you changed this day and made it so special for my daughter. My husband was away at a family funeral and couldn't be there, we just found out a friend had passed away hours before this, and we had a rocky start to our morning. Went to this place last month celebrating my buddy's birthday. Nice area to chill at in Walnut Creek. We ordered quite a few appetizers and shared an entree. I loved the Mussels and Clams. The mussels were small, but tender and very flavorful. It came with fries, which were crispy and nicely salted. Loved the broth. The garlic and wine broth had a very wonderful savory flavor. The Chicken Karaage was very good. The chicken was very tender inside and crispy outside with its batter. Loved the flavor of soy sauce and mirin in the appetizer and the dipping sauce was delightful. It was nice with a tart and creamy flavor and texture. We shared the Sea Scallops. It was made with a slightly sweet and savory curry sauce. It also included some vegetables. The scallops were seared nicely. They were tender and very flavorful on its own. The curry was a combo of sweet, savory, and had a nice subtle spiciness. The vegetables were much needed for the color, texture, and to balance out the meal. The Pork Belly was served nigiri style. It had shallots, jalapeños, and avocado on a small square of rice. There was also a sweet sauce underneath. The appetizer reminded me of sushi. The pork belly was crispy and had a nice seasoning. The rice was cooked fine, but could have needed a little more rice vinegar to give more sushi vibes. The shallot, jalapeños, and avocado gave this appetizer a much more appealing look. The Tuna Tartare was okay. Nice color of the raw sushi cubes. The soy sauce, ginger, sambal, and cucumber combined well in terms of flavor. The spice was not overpowering at all. The rice crackers were crispy and a much needed pairing for the fish appetizer. The Lamb Meatballs were pretty good. The meatball was tender and had a very good flavor. The serving size was perfect. It came with 6 meatballs. The tzatziki sauce was nice. The creamy texture and tartness of the sauce balanced the savory meatball. Service was great. Very friendly and efficient. What makes this place really excel is the views and the drinks! It has such a beautiful ambiance that anywhere you sit it feels you are outdoor. Their drink menu is EXTENSIVE and so many options to choose from. The drinks are not too sweet and have the perfect blend of liquor in it. So whether you are inside or out on the balcony, you still get to look up at the open sky. The place was packed. There is a 20% gratuity charge for late nighters. Not overly alcohol forward but you can tell it's there. For apps we got the truffle fries, tuna tartare and pork belly. The tuna tartare was refreshing and the fries and pork belly were seasoned, crispy and very enjoyable to eat. For mains I got the short ribs and my gf got the scallops. Presentation was on point and food is delicious. The short ribs were definitely tender and required very little chewing. For dessert we got the lava cake. Came here on a whim last night to get some drinks with some of my girlfriends and I was pleasantly surprised. I wasn't drinking that night so I ordered a mocktail and thought a little bit on the high end price wise the drink itself was very good. It was some sort of a huckleberry mix. It was very tasty. Friends ordered a whiskey drink, an espresso martini and a cosmopolitan and they all said their drinks were really good. They all come out looking all fancy too. Which is a plus. Our Dinner crew enjoyed dinner at the Rooftop last night and we had a great meal, including great service from our server Amari and the food and drinks were awesome. As soon as I was seated I ordered the four roses old fashioned! It came right out and was unbelievable. Next was appetizers, Burrata, Brussels sprouts, calamari and fresh oysters. These were all great! My choice for dinner was the 20 ounce bone in ribeye steak medium well! I was able to finish it and it was amazing! My buddies had another Ribeye, sea bass, sea scallops and short ribs' Everyone enjoyed their meal! We even had the pleasure of being seated next to a group that included WNBA world champion Sabrina Ionescu! We bought a couple bottles of wine and they were happy to open them for a reasonable fee! There were 7 of us for dinner at 7pm and the check was divided by six coming out to $140.00 dollars each! $$$ I would recommend Rooftop and I plan to return soon and try some of the other items on the menu! read more

This is one of my go to spots to stop by for a drink in downtown Walnut Creek. Service is amazing and bar is first come first serve. They also offer some fun mock tails which I appreciate. This time we did not grab a bite but I often op for the truffle fries if I'm feeling like a small bite. I was in town for work and looking for restaurants to go for a business dinner and this place came highly recommended. You can park in the lot in the back or there is plenty of street parking. Go up a couple upstairs to find it. That part is a bit tricky, but it's worth the hunt. It's on the very top of the building clearly where the rooftop is lol! There is nothing but views at this restaurant the service is totally five stars. They also have TV for sports which is very important to me because it was a Thursday night and there was a game on the menu has anything you could possibly be looking for. We got oysters and brussel sprouts to start and both were amazing. They had a lot of other options from American food to seafood and everything was really, really really good. I ordered the sea bass with risotto which was phenomenal and I highly recommend!! The bathrooms were located centrally in the building because there were other restaurants also in this building and they were very, very clean and huge.! we also ordered a delicious dessert and coffee and can't wait to go back to try the other things on the menu next time I'm in town. My friends and I stopped by after dinner hoping to enjoy some drinks. We were a party of 13, and despite the restaurant not being full, the host told us we should have contacted the event manager ahead of time to book a table. We were also told that in order to be seated, we would need to order food. The way this was communicated came across as very poor management. We easily could have taken our business elsewhere. While we ultimately decided to stay and didn't mind ordering food, the suggestion that we should have coordinated with an event manager--despite the restaurant clearly having space--felt unnecessary and disrespectful. This experience left a negative first impression to many and is something the restaurant should reconsider when it comes to accommodating larger groups, especially when the space is available. read more

The rest of the family had gone with the spicy shrimp rigatoni that came with a rich, flavorful sauce and just the ideal amount of heat. We ended the meal with their butter cake. Rich and decadent, but definitely on the sweeter side, which is how I usually like my desserts. Calamari - Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. The perfect combo! Served with a delicious cocktail sauce and ranch. Portion size is generous as well. Morgan Territory - a light beer that paired well with the calamari. Huckleberry Sunset - probably one of my favorite mixed drinks I've had. The taste of alcohol is nearly non-existent, and the mix of flavors is refreshing! I can't tell you why it took me so long to get here and experience this amazing place, but they now have a customer for life. I was able to make a same-day reservation on a beautiful Saturday afternoon, which I was surprised by. Happy, but surprised nonetheless. When we arrived, we were greeted at the top of the stairs and led to our table right away. This restaurant is absolutely perfect for a beautiful day in the Bay Area. Our waiter came right over and took our drink orders which was very surprising since it was packed. We ordered appetizers and a salad, and then the waiter circled back for us to order our meals. But let's talk about this appetizer. The lamb meatballs, top-tier. The Caesar salad we had, amazing. I ordered the short ribs which were delicious and my husband ordered the pasta, that I wasn't really a fan of (lacked seasoning to me), but we made it work. The star of the show was the butter cake. I was a waiter in college & provided excellent service with the goal of earning a tip. It was never a guarantee....consumers made the decisions. Today, you have restaurant owners that do not pay market wages, and therefore stick it to the consumer in the form of a guaranteed 20% tip. It's egregious sneaky and wrong. The restaurant owners should be ashamed of themselves for not paying their workers a fair market wage and expecting the consumer to subsidize their wages. You're charging about $75 per person to have dinner and yet you can't afford to pay your workers? That's a broken model and people will not come back. That's why you have you've earned a three star rating on Yelp. Lastly, I was disappointed by the hostess, who looked like a pissed off teenager, having no desire to be at work. We were seated in the outdoor area. We promptly received water which was refilled regularly. Our server came to the table and just looked at us for a few moments and said nothing. I said hello and then he asked if we were ready to order. My husband ordered a margarita with casamigos tequila. I ordered a huckleberry sunset. Since my husband didn't really see anything on the menu that he really wanted, he ordered truffle fries, Mediterranean meatballs, and a Cesar salad with shrimp. I ordered the honey ginger soy glazed salmon that came with asparagus and fingerling potatoes. The fries were bland. There was no salt on the table so my husband used the ketchup that was on the plate. My husband said the meatballs were just okay (I don't try them). The Cesar salad was the size of a side salad but the shrimp were a nice size. Again, he said that was just okay. My dish, the salmon, has no flavor at all. The potatoes were under cooked, the asparagus was over cooked. There was an upcharge casamigos and a 20% service charge was added because it was the weekend. Our grand total was $174.38 which is A LOT for food that's not delicious and lacking service! We will not be back! read more

Updated review from out second visit yesterday. The rooftop restaurant is a nice venue on the third floor. The service yesterday was actually friendly and good. However the food is just overpriced and bad. The $20 burger (including the $2 upcharge for truffle fries which are just sprinkled on salty mushroom powder) was a joke. The enormous bun was hiding a tiny little hamburger patty. Oh and the meat itself had a weird metallic taste. One piece of lettuce, two slices of tomato and raw (!!!) onions completed this runner up to Burger King. The Banh Mi was clearly made by someone who has never been to Vietnam (or even San Jose). The pork should be seasoned and grilled not baked with some weird vinegar bbq sauce. The vegetables should be pickled. Where's the sriracha? Served with French fries?
