    Short Rib benedict
    La'Ban W.

Wanted to try something new last week and thought we'd give Rooftop a try. We were able to book a same day reservation online. We arrived 45 min early and they were able to accommodate us. It was a nice day so the ambiance here was great, and the staff was very good and attentive to our needs. We started off by trying a couple of drinks. I had the tequila drink called the "Peach Please," which was like a peach margarita. Very good. However, the vodka drink, the "Huckleberry Sunset" was very refreshing. For the food, I had the short rib benedict. It was cooked perfectly, The meat was buttery and tasty. It came with a side of potatoes that had red onion and it was pleasantly good. Honey had the steak, and it was seasoned so well that it didn't need any sauce, every tough it came with a side of chimichurri. Although they overcooked it a bit for our liking, it was still good. Would recommend for a lunch date or maybe a nice night. A group of mature ladies next to us said the burger was to die for. So we'll have to go back and try that.

Stopped here for a beer and sat at the bar. Fieldwork Hazy Pulp- Juicy! Bartender friendly and noise level not too bad. 3 TVs at the bar. Good place to chill late afternoon when it's not too crowded.

    Fun cocktails at the bar.

Food is delicious! Service by the bartenders were very warm and friendly. The hostess was snobbish, unwelcoming, and made us want to turn around and walk right out. When are restaurant owners going to realize that the host/hostess represents the overall image of your establishment?!!! They are the first point of contact for ALL your customers and they set the tone of the place. When we walked up the hostess looked bored. We asked for a table and she looked liked we were putting her out or asking her to do us a huge favor. Look, honey, you work at a restaurant in Walnut Creek. You're not in SF or Beverly Hills. Take a deep breath and find another job if you hate dealing with people, this job is clearly not right for you. Would I come back or recommend this place to my friends? Maybe. Good food and good service is nice once you get pass the obnoxious hostess. But in a downtown location with so many other restaurants and bars....I am not sure I'd want to deal with it.

Came here for their weekend brunch. The view on the balcony is great but the food leaves a lot to be desired. The chorizo scrambled was over cooked (eggs were burnt) and a bit flavorless. The avocado toast was okay but nothing to write home about. The best thing was probably the truffle fries but I'm not sure if it was made fresh in house vs. heated up.

I went here with my friends and had a great experience. The food was good, the service was good, and the staff were very friendly. They were also very kind to my friend's dog and only politely asked whether it was a service animal. Overall, the restaurant has a nice atmosphere and a welcoming environment. The only downside was that the prices were a little on the expensive side, but the experience was worth it. Definitely deserves 5 stars!

Unimpressive and grossly overpriced. Service was fast until the order was served then you never see them again. $40 for the worst sea bass I've ever been served. It's packed so they don't need to care. $300 flushed.

The restaurant is in a great location in Walnut Creek with a beautiful view. Despite visiting on a busy weekend afternoon, the staff was kind and very attentive. Unfortunately the food was pretty mediocre. 1. The crab cakes were as expected. Small but fresh. The arugula salad is a nice touch. 2. The short rib in the benedict was delicious. Unfortunately the side of potatoes were barely room temp and far from crispy. 3. The quiche was underwhelming; very small, lacking bacon, and served cold. If we didn't have plans scheduled afterwards, we would have ordered something else. 4. The fries were the hottest item that came out. The restaurant is cute but left much to be desired in terms of hot and flavorful food. If I am to return, I might just come for drinks instead.

I recently went to Rooftop and honestly, it was pretty meh. I think most people go for the vibes and the view because the ambiance is definitely very pretty. The food was okay, but nothing really stood out or felt worth coming back for. The drinks were strong and had good flavor. I'm not much of a drinker myself, but my friends really enjoyed their lychee martinis. The service was nice and everyone was friendly, but overall, I probably wouldn't come back. I think it's more of a place to go for the views and atmosphere than the food.

Such a fun cute atmosphere, food was great, their vodka pasta was our favorite. Great spot if your looking for girl dinner! Lots of high top tables or bar seating if that's what your looking for. I'll definitely be back to try more of the cocktails.

I can see why they have such a poor rating after going back and forth multiple times to try and book a private event for a birthday. I filled out the online forms and called 4x to book a private event. The event coordinator finally emails me and tells me to just book a reservation online. Mind you, there's no way to book a private event through their reservation system. I have specified 3x now that I am looking to book a private room and willing to put down the deposit and pay the minimum. They still refuse to give me a call back and keep sending useless emails after I've requested a phone call multiple times. Idiots!

I have been to this very cool restaurant given its location the name speaks for itself . The Rooftop has a very nice selection on their menu not overwhelming just good quality choices . I had the 1/2 of ribs presentation was not the best but it was good . They had plates the mash potatoes and asparagus on a separate dish that made the dish looked underwhelming. The dish plate had black old scorched mark which is not pleasant either to look at I think it's time to invest in new plates . The mash was ok but the asparagus had an aftertaste. It seem to me it was grilled but not on a clean grill because wherever they grill it on the asparagus absorbed and the was not pleasant at all . The salmon was good seared perfectly. And the potatoes that came with it was quite flavorful. The cocktail I had was delightful. Service was great our water glass was always full . And everyone was friendly.

We came here for a birthday celebration and it was raining but they had an overhang that kept the rooftop space usable. We ordered a lot of apps, fried and oysters were good. They are known for their short ribs, it was good but nothing exceptional. I would say it is just ok. Service was good and they checked in on us. This was a nice spot in downtown Walnut Creek, but heads up , the small parking lot below is really strict on handing out tickets. Two people in our party got hit with parking tickets for being a few minutes late to add money to the meter.

Rooftop is one of our go to places for good drinks and greats apps. We tried the Huckleberry drink at the locust fair and it was SO good we had to track it down. Turns out it is Rooftops drink. 6 stars it's SO good. Restaurant was extremely crowded as it was Friday night but they got us in within 3 minutes. Staff is always so nice and welcoming we love that we live walking distance from such a gem!

We started with the chips and salsa, and they were a great way to kick things off. The chips tasted fresh and were perfectly crispy. Both the red and green salsas had really good flavor without being overly spicy. We also ordered spicy margaritas, and the bartender definitely knew what they were doing. The drinks were well-balanced with just the right amount of heat. For our entrees, we ordered the burrito, carne plate, enchiladas, and the bee salad. The standout was definitely the carne--it was incredibly tender and practically melted in your mouth. It was cooked perfectly. The burrito was absolutely massive and packed with flavor, while the enchiladas tasted homemade and were comforting and delicious. Everyone at the table left happy. Overall, it was a great dining experience with delicious food, excellent drinks, and attentive service despite how busy they were. Observations: 1) The place is very small. They sit you outside in a very windy alley. The food gets cold within 5min or so. So capacity is very limited. 3) We ordered lemonade for kids. They serve it in short glasses filled with ice to the brim (despite our ask for "no ice"), effectively reducing the liquid volume. We paid $35 for lemonade. 4) Food is very uneventful, nothing was remarkable. Their gnocchi with meat resembled Chef Boyardee from back in college times. Not sure why this place felt so pretentious with really no substance to back it. One look at the shelves tells you they have the base for any drink you want.
