I had an issue with my insurance for my roof leak. The insurance company gave me a bogus claim so I reach out to this roofing contractor to get an estimate. after the contractor gave me an estimate, I gave the insurance company the estimates for the repairs for the leak written up by this contractor. I ask them if the insurance company needs more information about the leak would you be willing to speak to my insurance company; they said yes would be willing speak to them. After volunteering to communicate with my insurance company and the conversation didn't go as expected because the adjuster for my insurance is clearly unqualified, the response from this contractor is "I don't want be involved". There was clear miscommunication between the contractor and the insurance company. I tried to gather information from both sides to figure out where the miscommunication came from the contractor was uncooperative and kept repeating "I don't want to get involved"... EVEN though they involved themselves in the situation by VOLUNTEERING to talk to the insurance company. Maybe you'll have a better experience. read more

We were having our house repainted by Universal Painting and we had some dry rot that would need some roof tiles removed to repair. Universal recommended Roofmasters. Glad they did, They worked with the painters timeframe to have the rot repaired shortly before the painting was scheduled. While they were doing the repair they gave us a roof inspection, we had some flashing that needed attention and some broken roof tiles. We setup another appointment after the painting was completed and they repaired loose tiles, replaced some broken tiles, cleaned the gutters and downspouts, all and all gave the roof a good servicing. It's so much less expensive to do the servicing now than making water damage repairs down the road. read more

We had some problems with dry rot in three different areas of our roof. After reading positive reviews and receiving recommendations from our painter, we decided to approach Roofmasters for their services. During the estimation process, they conducted a thorough roof inspection and found broken roof tiles and loose roof jacks/flashing. They fixed the dry rot, replaced the damaged tiles, and secured the loose ones. While repairing the broken tiles, they discovered more dry rot. The crew arrived on time, did an excellent job, great communication, and left the area clean. We have used Roofmasters since 2005/6, starting with our cement tile roof and untill recently when we replaced said 37-year-old tile roof with composite and installed solar panels, all through RM. Over the years they have replaced dry rot, rafters, pipe collars, etc., along with painting to match. Each time we have been extremely pleased with them. They arrive on time. Their site managers are easily approachable to discuss progress and any problems while doing the work. When leaving, everything is clean, both on the roof and around the house perimeter. This last time, RM crew even clean the pool of fallen debris. Solar installation went very smoothly with RM and solar contractor doing all the necessary permits and PGE contacts. I hired Roofmasters roughly 5 years ago to install a new roof and solar panels. I decided to put my house up for sale a month ago. I couldn't find my receipt to prove to the buyers the solar panels. No problem. I called roofmasters and left a message. Within 20-30 minutes of my initial call Johnathon Weiss called back. After I spoke and told him what I needed, within 5 minutes he emailed me a copy of the receipt. The buyers had more questions about the roof. Over the next 2 weeks, I must of asked Johnathon a dozen questions. He answered quickly, either by phone or email. Also, they inspected the roof because their were some issues brought up by the home inspection. The problems was not caused by Roofmasters, but they did find some minor issues that the home inspection did not find. They are coming to fix those minor issues in a week. Due to the severity and number of weather events this year, if you want to get a roof repaired or a fallen tree removed you'll have to wait in line. We are glad we waited for Roof Masters to address our leak around our skylight. This is a five star company. When it comes to replacing your roof, you cannot go wrong with this company. They were thorough, courteous, reasonably priced and did a very high-quality job. Their warranty is also better than what you can get from others. I needed to have my roof replaced. It is my house, replacing the roof is a significant work, so I needed to pick a reliable contractor. I read a few reviews from yelp and received recommendations from vendors, so filtered the list to three roof builders. Prices were similar. What distinguished Roof-Masters was the bid package which Jonathan (office manager) sent to me for the work: It had all the documentation and every bit of information that I needed: It had all of their certification including their diamond-rating certification, insurance coverage ($1 Million coverage for liability), the roofing material they were going to use, what was included and excluded from the work. Very professional. Straight forward and no guess work. Another plus was that they gave a 10 year workmanship warranty which beat their competition (Note to reader: The roofing material manufacturers typically provide a 40 year warranty, this is different from the 10 year full warranty Roof Masters or other roofing contractors may offer. If there is any leak or defective work due to the roof work in next 10 years, no questions asked, Roof Masters will fix it or pay for any caused damage ). When I asked for references, it was provided. I checked their references, one of them being a large rental company having 100+ units, all gave Roof Maters an A+ recommendation. So decided to go with Roof Masters. Before starting the work, I changed my mind twice on the color and type of roof to be used. Jonathan had to revise to bid. He had no problem with it whatsoever, and wanted to make sure I picked what I wanted before stating the work. Someone else might have been annoyed with me dragging my feet to make the right decision. Not Jonathan. He is a good manager and very comfortable to work with. He also have me a 10% veteran discount. When the work started, the entire work went with no headache or worries. And I inspected their work every day after the workers left. The workers showed up on time, they were careful climbing to the roof, they cleaned after themselves everyday. Roof Masters arranged for all the permit inspection with the city. All and all, the roof looks great, I did not have to do or object to anything ( I am known to be a stickler when it comes to the details, it feels different when I do not have any complaint!!). After the completion of work, Jonathan registered my roof with the roof fabricator, he then sent me a full documentation package with their warranty as well as roof warranty. They returned my calls and responded to my emails. They provided timely service and helped me meet the lender's closing date. I would highly recommend them. But instead of splicing in to replace the damaged fascia, they replaced the whole length of board. The short: I hired them to replace my roof and install solar. I didn't choose Roofmasters because of the price (they were competitive anyhow). I was 100% satisfied with Roofmasters' quality and professionalism from the very first day. You'll only tackle this project once in your life as a homeowner, maybe twice. More if you invest in real estate. I was overly cautious about whom to choose because I knew I would be "stuck" with the work for 25 years. My project: Tear off shingles, tear off plywood sheathing. Tear off all bargeboards/fascia. Install new "cool-roof" shingles, new radiant-barrier sheathing, install new bargeboards/fascia, install new gutters w/ gutter guards. As a courtesy for also doing solar, they installed three skylights and a solar attic fan (I provided these materials). Install 9.1kW system, consisting of 26 LG 350W panels, 26 microinverters, and necessary hardware, controller box, etc. At first, I wanted to keep both projects independent. However, I realized it would be more practical to solicit bids from companies who could tackle both projects at once. I reached out the 'big names' available nationwide: SR and V. Also, locally, SC, SS, AS, GWES, RM, CRS, SS, HS, and SH. I sat through SIX in-home sales consultations and many back-forth phone calls. It was painful. QUOTES FOR SOLAR. About the same in the price range (no more than 5% from each other). Some companies emphasize building a system based on the offset, others present an idea and listen to any changes you want. Roofmasters was the latter. QUOTES FOR ROOFING. All over the place. Some as low as $5k, some as high as 18k. However, few solar/roof companies were willing to work with me down the specifics I desired. The standard bid: tear off, and re-shingle is easy to quote. However, once I brought options like radiant-barrier, replace bargeboards, etc. many companies balked or struggled to add the wording to the proposals or provide a quote within a reasonable time (within 2 weeks). WHAT STOOD THEM APART (1) They tackled both projects independent of each other, yet aware not to make it difficult for each crew. This model allowed me the opportunity to customize each work. Ultimately, their business strategy convinced me they were the better choice. (2) No sales consultant meant no high-pressure environment, and no push to sign a contract without due diligence. J had Ja (solar system sales) emailed me the solar quote and developed a system based on what I desired. I met him once the contract was signed. This may NOT work for everybody -- but I'm sure we can all agree to have sales consultants at home can be cumbersome. (3) Their proposal was 100% accurate and left NO ROOM for ambiguity or misunderstandings. (4) They were extremely attentive and responsive to changes. Better than anybody else I got bids from. Within days, both J and Ja would send me updated proposals. (5) Whether to drop-off a check or samples, J was always willing to have a driver come by. (6) The roofer crew (6+) was early, on-time, and visibly alert and eager to start even at 7 am! The foreman, Mr. O with 30+ years in the roofing business, clearly showed leadership and was constantly overseeing everyone. Talk about a man with a head on a swivel. Yet, when I climbed up on the roof to chat or ask questions, he gave me 100% of his attention. He was not condescending or patronizing -- he explained in layman's terms why what I asked could not be done. (7) The solar crew (3), was on-time and very eager to explain each step of the way. They made no assumptions about the location of anything that was within my control and worked diligently but cautious. If you ever hired electricians and framers, you know they work differently. Fr's crew was overly attentive to detail. The pictures speak for themselves. (8) Their coordination with Ygreene, the PACE financing provider, was superb. Ygreene handles everything electronically, so everything moved forward efficiently while giving me the opportunity to review everything on my own time. OTHER DETAILS OF MY EXPERIENCE Up until this point, everybody else was sending "solar consultants," and they were taking roofing measurements or pictures. Few struggled to answer basic roofing questions (and I'm no expert). This opportunity opened the door to misunderstandings. However, J sent Ju (A ROOFER!) to my house. Ju took measurements and made a note of all the "extras" I wanted (gutters, radiant barrier, cool roof, etc.). He answered my questions, made suggestions, etc. It was clear he knew about roofs. Within a few days I received an incredibly detailed proposal with the specificity (in writing) ~ others failed at this. SUMMARY J has a great crew put together. They are a small company, and from day one I appreciated the candor of everyone involved. It never felt like I was 'just one more project' increasing the bottom line. read more

My old tile roof was at the end of its life cycle and needed to be replaced. Help help cut down the cost of the roof replacement, I decided to take advantage of the federal tax credit for installing solar at my house. I spent a total of 2 weeks researching and getting quotes from many different companies for both a roof replacement and solar install. At the end I ended up going with Roofmasters. Both my reps Johnathon (roof) and Jason (solar) were very helpful and knowledgeable. Their quote was very competitive and offered a great warranty on both workmanship and material. Since their quote was way under my planned budget, I had them also replace my electric panel. After signing contracts, it took about 3 weeks before they started the demo and roof replacement. All in all, it took about a whole week to replace my electric panel, replace my old tile roof with a composite roof and install a 12 LG solar panels with an enPhase inverter. After city inspection, it only took me 1 day to get my PTO (permission to operate). Overall, I am very happy with the overall work. I now have the peace of mind that my new roof will probably last longer then me. I do like using the solar app so you can look at what your panels are generating.
