I happened to be at the tire shop across the street getting the tires changed on my car and needed to pick up some pastries for guests that were coming over that same day. One of those guests happens to be a baker so I really needed to find some fresh delicious pastries. I checked Yelp for nearby bakeries and La Jaconde popped up with really great reviews so I drove right across the street and picked up some baked goods. I picked up this big pastry that was stuffed with cream cheese and sour cherries (TRUST ME you want this), a box of mixed cookies and bite sized goodies, and a box of stuffed dates (don't knock it until you try it). EVERYTHING was fresh. Everything was tasty. And it got the stamp of approval from the baker friend. The cream cheese and sour cherry stuffed bakery literally disappeared in 10 minutes, and that thing was not small by any means. I returned to this same place the following week to pick up some savory baked goods for some friends, and the owner was at the shop and was so kind and so proud of his products (as he should be). Needless to say this is going to be my bakery of choice. I'd drive past 5 shops to get to this one any day.

They close at 7 pm so I just made it. Luckily they still had a few cupcakes left and plenty of the cakes left. I decided to get a slice of their old fashioned chocolate cake, and 4 cupcakes to go. I got a red velvet, a chocolate, a vanilla, and a mocha cupcake. Everything was delicious but I have to say that the old fashioned chocolate cake slice was my favorite. They give you a ginormous piece too which is nice when you have that craving. All the cakes were very moist and the buttercream was sweet but not crazy sweet which I really appreciated. Unfortunately, on the way to our house, the driver had a near accident. The cake was ruined. We needed the (surprise) birthday cake at the house before the birthday people came to the house so it would not be seen. The driver was supposed to be at my house before 10:00AM. He was making good time; but when 10:05 came, we started getting worried. When he did arrive he showed us the smashed cake you see in the picture. I sent the picture to Shivon and she sounded like she was going to have a heart attack! She profusely apologized and told me she was going to make this better. She went overboard!! I supposed knowing that there were 3 birthday people she made 3 separate different flavored small round cakes (not that little I might add!), a dozen cupcakes . I am not a fan of sweets; but, all of the cakes and cupcakes I tasted were excellent! And yes, per the menu very expensive- but for the quality, so worth it. I wish I had taken pictures of the cakes she sent. But, we were rushing around so much by that time, I couldn't. The driver however took pictures. So, if Shivon can get them up on this post, you will be able to see what I mean by going overboard! Shivon is more than just a salesperson she is a very sincere and empathetic person. We will definitely be back. The only reason why I gave 4 stars is that the delivery person should have contacted Shivon as soon as it was known that the cake was ruined so she could have started on a new cake, or at least prepared Shivon for a situation that she would not have had to freak out on! We made our way over and the lovely manager Iva was kind enough to stay late to make sure we got our cupcakes! She was so warm and gracious and helped us pick out the perfect assortment of tasty cakes, I seriously think we got one of each flavor they had left! I was first told by an employee that they couldn't place the order over the phone and that I needed to submit it online. Following his instructions, I placed the order online, only to be told afterward that they no longer process special orders. Unfortunately, by then, my order had already been submitted because I trusted the information I was given. I was also told I would receive a refund, but later found out that only a manager could authorize refunds. It was frustrating to realize that I had been given incorrect information multiple times. And OMG the manager's attitude. Instead of being apologetic and listening to my concerns as a customer, she came across as rude and defensive. I simply suggested that if employees are providing incorrect information, management should review those conversations and ensure proper training before allowing them to handle customer inquiries. Overall, the experience was unprofessional and stressful. If you're ordering for a special event and need reliability, I would strongly recommend going somewhere else. My refund is still pending... btw

Yes, the cupcakes are as consistently yummy and moist as they are prettily decorated. Yes, the interior of the shop is clean, bright, and bursting with color. Yes, there are drinks, and savory food, and other tempting things in and behind the bakery cases. What I witnessed this morning between the shop workers and the customers gave me something to meditate on. I overheard the people in the shop talking to each other about what ultimately resulted in an act of kindness for another customer. What transpired happened over the course of a couple of minutes, but it was done so simply and quietly as to not draw much fanfare. It seems like these small acts of generosity happen regularly, and it's simply reassuring to see the goodness in people that we may not have normally noticed. I suppose there's something mystical and magical when good business owners draw in good staff and draw in good customers. Cheers, all!

Upon arriving, I noticed the dessert shop was within a cafe which was well decorated and cozy. I came in on a weekday afternoon, it wasn't too busy.
