Everyone we interacted with was so nice. Super attentive staff. Cute decor. My kids got the Alfredo kids meal. Both loved it! My son licked his plate clean and my daughter was sad because we are on a road trip and can't easily come back. I was very impressed with the gluten-free garlic bread! We were traveling through Ontario on our way home to Salem and were hungry. I looked on Yelp and saw the good reviews for this place, so we had to stop. We were greeted and led to a table next to a party of 8 or so people. (There were three of us in my party.). We couldn't hear each other so there wasn't much talking happening for us. The waiter came to take our order and we had to repeat ourselves because it was so loud. Its our fault for not asking to move but we were tired and didn't want to be a hassle to the host. When our drinks arrived one of our glasses had a big crack in it. When we told the waitress she looked at it and carried it in the kitchen where no one seemed at all concerned. It was such a weird reaction. We ordered chicken Parmesan, fettuccine alfredo, and a build your own calzone. I asked for broccoli, capers and roasted garlic. The chicken parm was dried out and had a weird/dried out texture. The alfredo sauce was was runny like soup. The calzone had approximately 2 pieces of broccoli that had been cut up really small. The "roasted" garlic was not roasted and that's not what we asked for. There were capers. The unfortunate part was the cheese. Its hard being a vegetarian and getting everything with so much cheese. It was basically a cheese calzone with a bite of broccoli. We won't be visiting here again. read more

First of wanted to say the staff was great and the lady serving us was very attentive and consistently checked on us. Romio's is a poor man's Olive Garden. From torn cushion seats to cracked walls that are most definitely not decorative, save yourself the stop and drive the extra 45 minutes to Boise for dinner. My wife got the chicken Parmesan, but the chicken was dry and tasteless and the cheese on the pasta was greasy and overbearing. I got the four cheese baked spaghetti, which was my own mistake because I didn't realize the 4 in the name meant how many pounds of cheese they were going to put on my dish. And all of the pasta sauce was on the bottom of the dish, which meant I had to dig through an inch of melted greasy cheese to even find spaghetti and eventually the sauce. The only part of my meal I enjoyed was the Shirley temple my wife got and the salads that came with our entree's. read more

Drove from Jackson Hole to Ontario Oregon today. After taking a well deserved rest we really needed a good dinner. Stopped by and was warmly forested and seated by the hostess. Our server Cindi was very friendly and helpful with the menu. I ordered the fettuccine carbonate with a ceasar salad. The salad cane.out very quickly and was very tasty. Just the right amount of dressing too. Not too little or too much. The Carbonara was warm, light, and flavorful and the fettucini noodles had a homemade consistency to them. The bread that came with the entree was crispy, warm, soft, and flavorful. A perfect bread to dip into the sauce. I am really impressed and I can't wait to enjoy the tiramisu I brought home for later. I'm definitely giving this place a stop on my way back. read more

My only regret is I took no pictures. We had Romio's special. The crust was crisp and delicious. The toppings were excellent. The cheese was generously abundant and just turning brown. We ordered four pizzas to go from here. Their house-designed pizzas are creative and delicious. Some are done in Neapolitan style, and some in Detroit style. The Detroit style pepperoni was almost burned, but still edible. So, for pizzas, I'd say stick with their menu creations and you can't go wrong. Service was fast but I can't say much else. This is super cute little pizza and pasta place. If I'd have known that they weren't too busy when I was in town I would've opted for dining in instead of takeout. The inside is small and a little old but seems comfortable enough to dine in when not busy. I Placed my order online and it was ready within about 15 minutes. Staff was courteous. The pizza was delicious. We also got the pesto bread which was my favorite! The picture of their menu shown on Yelp is outdated. I wasn't sure how to write this review because it's somewhat negative, though I didn't necessarily want it to be. We don't have a lot of variety in this area, and what variety we do have tends to cater to a certain 'bland' palate. Romio's is Italian, but it's also very rural Americana, with all the bells and whistles that entails. They have a variety of dishes, including pastas, pizzas, sandwiches, appetizers, etc., so if you're wanting something other than a Domino's bread bowl, they have you covered. Most Italian places you find, outside of larger cities, or communities that have a large Italian presence, tend to have very similar pasta items. You have your red and white sauces, several pasta varieties and several cheese and protein types. Mix any of them together, and bam! Menu item. If I see a menu filled with more exotic items I'll typically give them a run. If not, I'll initially pick something simple and familiar to me and that something tends to be their variation of the carbonara, if offered. And I say variation because carbonara isn't exactly complex - it's primarily egg yolk, pecorino and/or parmesan cheese, and guanciale or bacon. All depending on ingredient availability. But who is going to pay $16+ for that, right? So some places tend to add extra's to spice it up since it's a pretty simple dish. Need to amp it up, otherwise, some folks may balk at the tag for a plate of 'cheesy noodles,' right? But here lies our problem - I didn't get a carbonara. I got some bacon, mushrooms, scallions and tomatoes in a mornay sauce (flour, butter, milk and cheese.) And when you're 'expecting' a carbonara and what you get was something decidedly not, it kind of puts a damper on your enjoyment of the dish. Which leads to our second problem - every dish seemed to be left under the broiler too long. And with the amount of folks I saw in the kitchen vs what I saw out at the tables, why? Why did everything come out like it was a baked dish? Even the appetizer, which were the tenderloin skewers, appear wilted down as though it was premade and left under a heat lamp until someone ordered it? Which led to our third problem...whoever prepped the skewers didn't even bother removing the little sticker from the bell pepper when they chopped/prepped it. A small, but gross oversight. And to Romio's credit, they provided a considerable discount for that sticker, without our asking. Finally, our fourth problem...the booth we sat in smelled of mold/mildew. The interior of Romio's is dated (though clean,) which in of itself, is not necessarily a bad thing, but when you can smell very unpleasant smells where you are sitting, nothing that comes after is going to be A+. Maybe it's time to gut the booths? I don't really put a lot of stock into the wait staff much these days (service positions are overworked and underpaid and American tipping culture is wild these days with a lot of variation,) as long as they're not rude or decidedly 'put out' that we're there. I suppose if I were paying a lot of money (relatively,) I'd expect more, but again, we're in a small town, with small town wages - don't be mean and you're good to go. And the staff at Romio's were good to go. Overall, was Romio's a good place to go? Again, if you're wanting more than what Domino's has to offer, it's really the only place to go unless you want to travel 30-60 minutes out of the area. read more

Was I glad that we gave this little restaurant a try. It was our anniversary and we wanted to try something nice. Since we driving through and not familiar with area, I used yelp to narrow my choices. Thank you Yelp! I ordered baked fettuccini formaggi and my husband had tortellini putanesca. Both dishes were good. I really loved my dish because it was so cheesy. When you eat this dish, just be careful that it won't burn you. This dish comes HOT. Everything on the dish was just so delicious. It came with a bowl of soup and 2 garlic breads. Both were fantastic. My husband's dish was good too but he thought the sauce may have been a bit too strong. Then we ordered the ice cream potato. I heard all about it through the reviews. I just had to order it myself. I loved it. It was cookie and cream ice cream which was so cold and hard. It shaped like a potato and was covered with cocoa. It was then topped qith whipped cream and sit on top of chocolate fudge. I can't believe how close it looked like a real potato. You just have to order it and give it a try. The next time I drive through this town, I will stop by the restaurant for sure. read more

I am not a pizza fan but I do order from Romios about once a month. I don't eat meat so I do have to add ingredients when it gets here. I experience inconsistency depending on who's in the kitchen. I have tried some other items but I will stick to pizza. I have only ordered delivery so I don't know about the physical restaurant. I have referred people to Romios Who felt the same about consistency. The people on the phone have always been pleasant. And the manager took care of one issue I had a couple of years ago. read more

We stopped overnight in Ontario at the tail end of a long road trip. We'd been eating mostly road food and decided we wanted to have a sit down meal. We found Romio's while looking for places not too far from our hotel. I'm so glad we stopped here! I had their spinach salad with hot bacon dressing. After ordering the waitress let me know they were out of hard boiled eggs and offered a substitution of chicken. I asked if they could also add some Gorgonzola which she happily included. My wife had the lobster ravioli and said it was the best she ever had. Our bill was $29 for the two entrees and we would have been happy to pay more. Great Italian food & pizza at reasonable prices (especially for the quality) and friendly service. We ordered an array of pastas including tasty standards like Fettuccine Alfredo (creamy with a hint of parmesan cheese in every bite). We also ordered a couple of pizzas including a roasted garlic & artichoke that had a nice zing to each bite with a heavy garlic flavor and a more standard olive & mushroom with Canadian bacon. The crusts are on the thicker side but soft, warm, & buttery with good texture (not doughy). The place has a romantic decor that's both inviting and comforting with lots of private, walled booths for one-on-one conversations. I'd recommend this to any Italian food lovers.
