Amazing sushi!! The waitress was friendly and welcoming. We had amazing food so good!

Ambiance is nice, but the service was below average and the food was barely mediocre. I had a chicken teriyaki bowl and the chicken was overcooked and leathery, and the teriyaki sauce was overwhelmingly sweet. As far as the service goes, it took forever to get the drinks we ordered, and the food took a long time as well. After waiting 15 minutes for the desserts we ordered we decided to leave. We had to adjust the bill ourselves to deduct the dessert since the waitress didn't come back after leaving the bill. There aren't many restaurants in the area but we won't be back to this one. read more

Food was good, real good. Shogun met cowboy here. Had sushi and burger with the fixings and did not let us down. Service was great, feel of the place awesome for family celebration. Not a place for kids running around but they do have an awesome outdoor patio that looks heated and is huge. Food selection was not overwhelming but great choices. The food is good, with sushi options that are hard to find near Ontario. The service is attentive. The value for money is exceptional. However, they have an undisclosed "service charge" on the bill. Ogawa's has won the best overall restaurant in the western treasure valley! I think it is very well deserved. I have been here many times and the service has always been great. They do tend to get really busy on the weekends but I promise it's worth the wait. In my opinion the deep fried Tabitha roll is a must try- it is filled with tempura shrimp, avocado, and cream cheese. You won't be disappointed. They also have a tasty drink menu. I'm way overdue for a review for Ogawa's, and quite frankly another trip. I say without a doubt that this is one of Ontario's best restaurants. Everyone is always great - whether you get a burger, rice bowl, or sushi, you really can't go wrong here. High quality food, reasonable prices and great service. I've been here too many times to leave commentary on every single dish I've enjoyed. So to highlight a few: My favorite sushi roll by far is the Philly Roll (salmon with avocado, cucumber, cream cheese, $7.75). It's simple and always hits the spot. The fish is always fresh, and all the ingredients mix in so well together! Heaven in my mouth. For non-fish fans like my husband I recommend the Tyler Roll (teriyaki beef, cream cheese, green onion, spicy sauce, $7.25). You get to pretend your eating sushi without actually eating raw fish. Whatever that spicy sauce is, it's so damn good. My stomach is growling just thinking about and I'm 50 freaking miles away. Don't like sushi? No prob, they've got delicious rice bowls. The BEST is the Teriyaki Beef Bowl (teriyaki beef, steamed vegetables, white rice, covered in Tomio sauce sprinkled with sesame seeds, $10.50). It really reminds me of the other great teriyaki joints in Boise, again I'm not sure what's in that sauce exactly but it's hella freaking amazing. I could go on but I'm not about to bore anyone and who knows who tf actually reads these so I'll leave it at this: if you're looking for funky good food in this lil ol' passerby town don't look anywhere else because it doesn't get any better than Ogawa's!! read more

The food is really good. After placing a to go order that was $100 plus they added an 18% gratuity. I asked why considering it was to go. They said anything over a $100 an 18% gratuity is automatically added done in or take out. A gratuity should be up to the customer not an automatic percentage. Learn to pay your staff better. I won't be back and I normally order once a month for take out. read more

We love this place and I wish we would've known about it sooner! It is tucked away just off of the main road. We have eaten in here several times for special occasions or casual dinner, and each time. It is amazing. We order the same food every time we go in because it is just that good. We love the chicken teriyaki bowl, the Tabitha roll, and the edamame. Our son loves coming here with us as well, and the staff is always so wonderful and patient with us. read more

The ambiance is nice everything else seems to be a "wanna be" sushi restaurant. The staging of the food coming out was poor. My sushi order has nothing to do with my hot food and should not be held until my hot food is ready. Sushi was ok nothing to rave about. I wish you the best in your endeavor. read more

We love the food truck, the restaurant not so much. We did not appreciate the cc surcharge. I know as a small business, fees add up. However, that is something as a business you consider into your prices. I do know most credit card companies advise against charging customers this fee and some, I said some, have rules against it. The last time we went there I spent $125 after tip and fees for 2 people. Don't think we will be back for that price, we will drive into Nampa and get ice cream for that price. read more

I'm from out of town and stopped by here on a recommendation from a local work colleague. I'm so glad I did! My server was named Tamie and she was incredibly friendly and attentive. I couldn't decide on a beer, so she let me sample a few unprompted. Super cool. I had a custom sushi roll made to order, edamame a couple other things. All were fresh and tasted delicious. The prices are very reasonable. The place is clean as well and staff friendly. If I lived in this town then I would visit this place often! I definitely recommend this restaurant. I called in advance to let them know I was severely allergic to shellfish and they assured me they would make sure no cross contamination occurred. I ordered my food, which contained fried chicken. I decided to make sure they had a separate deep fryer they used for shellfish and was told they didn't. But they then said, "we have people with shellfish allergies all the time and the deep fryer has never been an issue." For someone who will stop breathing within 20 second of coming into contact with shellfish, I assure you the shared fryer is 100% an issue. I ordered something else and once I got the food it was pretty good. My MIL called the owners the next day to let them know they should at least let their customers know about the shared fryer when it comes to allergies and they blew her off! Told her it wasn't an issue. So, I leave this one star review in the hopes that someone with a severe allergy like mine doesn't trust them not to kill them, even if they say they have it handled! Bummed to leave a one star, but at best they'll send someone to the hospital and at worst they'll kill someone! read more

2.5 stars. Not impressed but will give it another try. I like to try places at least twice because I know most places have their off days. Just to summarize quickly... Sushi was plain, small portion sizes, and rice seemed old. We love sushi so if you're not super particular then this may have been ok for some people. Burger was flat, overcooked, and tasted bad. Didn't get our whole order so we had to go back. Service at pick up was slow but the employee was nice. If it's better when we go again then I will update my review. read more

Decided to check this place out on our way to Peck, and I am glad I did! The great reviews of their burgers sold me. The restaurant itself has a mellow vibe that's oddly inviting. We were immediately greeted and offered indoor or outdoor seating. The flies were out of control in the area, so we opted for indoors. They serve burgers and Asian fare and alcohol. Everything looked so delicious, but I had my heart on a burger. We got a cheeseburger and caramel filled churros with ice cream at the same time. One bite of the churro and my heart melted. The ice cream was creamy and tasted homemade. The burger was simple but was good enough to not need any bells and whistles. The fries were lightly battered, so crispy but soft at the same time. No hard stale fries here my friend! We showed up around 4 on a Friday and people started pouring in after we got our food. Make sure you beat the rush, or expect it to be busy. This place is a winner in my book and will be stopping while we're driving through more often! read more

We're new to the area and when we asked around for the best burger place everyone seemed to point us here. Weird, but okay. They weren't wrong. I can't personally attest to their burgers, as I instantly became obsessed with their sushi and haven't tried anything else. Their sushi is phenomenal and I've loved everything I've tried. My husband though loves their burgers and they look really good and well made. Their teriyaki bowls are also excellent, and you get a lot for the money. My daughter and I are sushi fans so we were excited to try this place out on our night in Ontario. Sadly, my choices turned out to be flavorless and the rice was old, chewy, and flat out bad. I tried soy sauce but only had a few bites before deciding I was done. My daughter had the the Ryan, the Kobe, tempura shrimp, and the Kari. She said her tuna tasted sour and the rice was chewy. The Sushi was fishy tasting and good sushi does NOT smell bad. Not sure why people rave about this place unless they haven't ever had GOOD sushi before. GREAT wait staff, good burgers, terrible steaks. I have been to Ogawa's several times with friends who like sushi. Since I don't like sushi, I usually order a burger, but today I had a sudden craving for steak. What they served was awful--first I asked for medium RARE and got medium WELL. Waitress was great and made sure I had another, properly cooked steak. While cooked to the proper temperature, it was positively brined! Way too much salt. Way too much pepper. And the accompanying veggies were so overly salted that they actually burned my tongue. In short, if you like sushi, try Ogawas, but if you want steak, keep looking. read more

It was great, and service was fast. I was in town to take a car for repairs, and this was a short walk away. I didn't expect much for small town Sushi, but the sushi didn't disappoint. I had the lunch special with two "basic" rolls, but the basic rolls (spicy tuna, salmon) were great. Also, they had gluten-free soy sauce on request. Service during lunch time was very attentive, unlike some other reviews. The patio was pleasant, facing a relatively low traffic road. Overall, I would recommend it! read more

This is the first time I can say that I am disappointed with this establishment. It wasn't food or service, it was lack of communication between bar and front desk. We arrived on a Friday evening (busy as expected). The hostess informed us that it would be 45-60 minutes. We were fine with that and settled in to wait. There were several other couples waiting with us and we had all been informed that there was a wait list for seating in the bar as well as the main restaurant. Approximately 20 minutes after we arrived, a trio of folks arrived and put their name on the list. The "gentleman" in the group wandered back to the bar area and claimed an empty table. When all three couples waiting questioned the hostess, she said that she would get the manager involved. The trio stayed seated and NO ONE explained why to us. Finally, the manager came out after we asked for him and tried to explain that the bartender thought it was open seating back there and the hostess thought it was a wait list. Had we known about this policy, we would have taken advantage. We still only found out about the open seating when a member of a couple who had waited before us came back and told us. Someone needs to improve communication here. I know of at least 4-5 couples waiting who were plenty upset. Word of mouth advertisement is both the best and the worst you can have. Please don't let a new building ruin your good service. read more
