While my Mahi Mahi was slightly overcooked, the drawn butter from the lobster helped bring it back to life and added great flavor. I wasn't a fan of the pineapple accompaniment, which tasted canned rather than fresh, but the sauce served alongside the dish was excellent. The Orange Roughy was the standout entree and definitely the better choice between the two. It was flaky, buttery, fresh, and cooked perfectly. Overall, Coa Del Mar delivers a gorgeous setting, excellent cocktails, friendly service, and some truly memorable dishes. While not every element of the meal was perfect, the oysters and Orange Roughy alone would have me coming back.

Every time I've been, the restaurant is always clean and well maintained, the food has been excellent, and it's just been an easy, enjoyable dining experience from start to finish. I also love that they feature such a great selection of wild-caught Alaskan seafood. If you care about quality ingredients, it's refreshing to find a restaurant that puts such an emphasis on sourcing great fish. Between my family, we've sampled a good variety of the menu--the all-you-can-eat crab dinner, halibut, bacon-wrapped prawns, scallop appetizer, Dungeness crab dip, clam chowder, steamed clams, Caesar salad, desserts, and even the burger. Overall, everything has been consistently good, with several dishes I'd absolutely order again. The halibut was a standout for me, and my husband loved both the bacon-wrapped prawns and scallops. The steamed clams were also excellent, and the clam chowder is rich, thick, and creamy (which you'll probably love if that's your style). Even the burger was a hit, making Anthony's an easy choice whether everyone at the table wants seafood or not. The only two items that didn't quite hit the mark for me were the Caesar salad and the Dungeness crab dip. The Caesar dressing was a little heavier and creamier than I personally prefer, and I found myself wishing the crab dip had a bit more actual Dungeness crab. Neither would keep me from coming back--they just weren't my favorite dishes. Their happy hour is worth checking out, too. The menu is more extensive than I expected, and they also seem to regularly offer a prix fixe menu, which gives you even more options. And don't skip dessert--highly recommend the strawberry shortcake (when you can get it). The service has been friendly and welcoming every time we've visited. The staff isn't over-the-top--they're simply kind, attentive, and let the food shine. We celebrated my birthday there, and I was greeted with a handwritten birthday card waiting at our table. It was completely unexpected and such a thoughtful touch. Moments like that show they genuinely care about creating a great experience, not just serving a meal. Another thing worth mentioning: parking is easy, and they validate it, which makes dining downtown so much more convenient. Anthony's has become one of those restaurants we know we can count on. The waiter even joked about closing the banquet room door because "those folks know how to party," then promptly did nothing about it. Red brick, arched windows that have a Mediterranean feel, and an exterior staircase that gives a bit of an industrial vibe. I thought it would be a little more upscale inside, but it is more basic wood tables and booths. There is a patio area, and it looks like there is an upstairs patio or dining area as well. I have been sitting on my fingers since I learned this a week ago to not have to type the news into Yelp in the magical thinking that if it wasn't said it wouldn't be true. But, very sadly, it is. Not only have Aaron and Kelly (he the inaugural chef at Juniper and she the one time business manager for Coiled winery and other food businesses) contributed greatly to people who love to eat good food through their support of local growers and suppliers to use those ingredients in Aaron's remarkably delicious creations and modeled the best customer care, Kelly's ears should be burning for how many times her name comes up when conversations are had with others about examples of "how to" for extraordinary hospitality, they have contributed much to the Boise community by being really wonderful people. Boise is the better for them being here.
