Sushi Shack is a great restaurant on the SE side of Boise. I've come here several times now with my family as well as on date nights with my hubby. Their Stepping Stone roll is by far my favorite. They also have great cocktails, as well as a good selection of local beer and wine. Their patio area is small, but offers a great shaded option if you want to sit outside. I would highly recommend Sushi Shack for anyone looking for their sushi fix. And I will definitely be back plenty of more times. Parking can be tough if you go on a busy night. They share a small parking lot with Coa Cantina, The Stil, and Lucky 13. But there is usually overflow parking available in the set of shops just behind them. In my experience, the servers have always been very friendly and helpful when I have questions about the menu. read more

Yummiest sushi!! We come here often & our server, Liberty, was the best server we have had thus far! She was so kind, super attentive, & overall made our experience great! Would definitely come back! read more

Came here because it's nearby our new house and so happy I did. Dog friendly patio, loved the sushi! They offer toro and white tuna.. service was almost too attentive, and they look like they have fun cocktails. My only gripe was that they did not have Sapporo in bottle which is what I usually get, but they had kirin in draft. My favorite in Boise so far! read more

Fresh sushi with an amazing presentation. Great service. Honestly I've eaten sushi and spent way more and at places in California that doesn't come close to the freshness and all around hospitality as sushi shack. Definitely going to come back. Driving into the parking lot kinda through me off but best believe this place is on point! read more

We normally have a great experience so hoping to update this review in the future. Our service was terrible today, it is Mother's Day but it was not busy (maybe 4 full tables total inside/outside). The server was rude and treated us like any question or order we had was an inconvenience to her. She didn't give us menus for about 15 min, upset when we asked for chopsticks when our food came out, upset when we asked for low sodium soy sauce and frustrated when we asked for soy sauce saucers (little plates). She spent some time talking with another table and kept joking with them that they're not even her table. For reference, we have never been served by her before and come often. We waited a long time for our check too which isn't a deal breaker. Overall just a crummy experience and hoping management sees this to help train any new staff. read more

We love sushi shack! Great rolls, lots of choices, and a fabulous variety of drinks as well. We prefer this location over the meridian location as the service seems to be a bit friendlier, and rolls are more consistent, they also go heavier on the sauce, yum! We also find this location to be brighter with a nice variety of seating options. The rolls always taste fresh and are a great blend of flavors. The wait staff is great with explaining drinks, options, etc. miso soup, and fried rice are also a must! read more

Sushi Shack - Stepping Stone (left) with spicy mayo, and Idaho roll (right) - Sushi Bars Near Me - Boise, Idaho

The Sushi Shack is our go-to for sushi in the eastend. Their rolls are creative and delicious. Somehow, we frequently end up with a chef's creation of that day. Large sashimi boat has been fantastic every time and was really great when we could choose Ora King! I think the Ora King now has to be ordered separately. I like the small, clean ambiance that's not pretentious or moody. read more

We come here almost every week. The sushi is always amazing and the sushi chefs create the most beautiful platters of rolls! That alone would make it worth the price. The service is great. The house cocktails are amazing. Currently sipping The Lady Upstairs. Who knew I like gin this much?? Fun patio when the weather is good. The fish is always fresh and beautiful. read more

I absolutely adore The Lost Shack Sushi for its incredibly chill vibe. Rain or shine, its location off the green belt is simply perfect, whether you're grabbing a bite before a Shakespeare show or just soaking in the ambiance. The sushi here is a standout for me; not only is it top-notch, but the family-friendly atmosphere and excellent service make every visit memorable. Plus, the selection of beers and drinks is impressive, making it the ultimate spot for a romantic date night in east Boise. Bonus- if you like the Stil ice cream- right next door to top off your date night. read more

I have been wanting to visit the Sushi Shack seeing that it's 200 yards from my house and was pleasantly elevated with the friendly ambiance, amazing food. I had the Heavy Metal Roll served by Ty one of the SU chefs and it was so amazing and now one of my favorite rolls. Service by Alissa was wonderful and enhanced my experience, ask the shack's kingpins Dylan and Hiroshi as they are interested in making your experience be Da Kine exceptional. thank you read more

Wanted a quick bite to eat. Little after 8 o'clock. Look this place up. Had a nice reviews. So I gave it a try. It's a little bit tough to find. Just keep your eyes open. You'll spot it. Now, for the good, Went in, told Ty (the sushi chef) give me three of your favorites. And then I had some of the best sushi I have ever had. Nice casual cute little place. Owner was there and he was hilarious. The whole staff was joking and laughing and having fun. Just exactly the attitude I needed when I went in. After traveling all day. Could not be happier. I have recommended it to a couple of local friends. I will definitely be returning here when I'm in town. And the Bluefin Tuna. Oh My!!!!!!! read more

At least 20 minutes until a waitress acknowledged us, same to get our food-place wasn't too busy, waitress never checked back after dropping off food. We love good sushi, but nothing memorable about the sushi rolls- we had 5 different ones --they all tasted the same, nothing stood out, whisky soy sauce....normal soy sauce taste. Sushi was mediocre at best. Service maybe just a bad nite, but disappointing to see the tip default at payout at 25%.... If you're doing that then please make sure every box was checked for the customers. read more

I was excited to try their sushi, but the experience fell short due to one glaring issue: way too much rice. Every roll ordered was almost entirely overwhelmed by massive portions of rice, making it hard to taste the fish or other ingredients. Sushi is supposed to be about balance--delicate flavors coming together in harmony--but here, the rice dominated everything. The fish was barely noticeable, both in quantity and taste, which left the sushi feeling bland and one-dimensional. The rice itself was also a bit underwhelming--overly sticky and not seasoned properly, making it more of a filler than an enhancement to the meal. Most of the rolls we ordered listed avocado yet only one piece of the roll actually had a slice of avocado on it! Why? It's disappointing when what should be a simple yet refined dish becomes unbalanced. Unfortunately, I didn't leave feeling like I got my money's worth. If you're looking for quality sushi with a proper balance of ingredients, this might not be the place. This review focuses on the imbalance in the sushi, which detracted from the overall experience. Two stars for the miso soup and house salad. Both were very good. read more

We have gone here a few times, definitely a good place in meridian, they have bar food, full bar and sushi. I have had the poke bowl a few times and it is the best thing there if you ask me, they have good food and everyone that works there is very friendly and professional read more

Great food and drinks. Dj was our server and he did a great job. Service was very fast.

Be sure to eat before you arrive, because it takes forever to get your order taken. Worst service ever. I honesty felt like they did not want us there. Wired vibe. Disappointing as we were excited to find a new place to like. read more

I hate to give a bad review, but this place truly deserved it. The host was very sweet and sat us at the bar. It took about 20 minutes for our waiter to even come over and acknowledge us. We placed our order and waited roughly 45 minutes while waiting we watched our food sit out for 20 of those minutes without being taken to us. We had to personally grab our own soy sauce cups after she brought me soy sauce. At the very end of my meal, one of the chefs dropped his sushi roller into my food knocking my last roll onto the ground. No hate to him because he apologized but did not offer reimbursement. Mistakes happen but it seemed like they could've at least comped the roll. Unfortunate outing for my and my bf. Will not be returning. read more

Our server DJ gave our table great service and attention to detail! Ordered the Kaizen roll it was delicious... will be coming back

I had a really disappointing experience at Sushi Shack. From the moment we walked in, the service was terrible. We weren't acknowledged at all, and multiple servers walked past us without even a glance. We ended up walking out before anyone even spoke to us because it was so bad. First impressions matter, and Sushi Shack failed miserably. read more

Decent poke bowls. My husband and I like to come here during the summer occasionally and sit on their patio and enjoy some poke bowls!

We couldn't find the entrance. Peeked in the door of the bar and thought we had the wrong place. Ahh, it's a unique combo, not what one normally thinks of with the term Sushi Bar. That said, it works! Not only is the concept creative; so is the sushi. Every roll we had was unique and awesome. Too many sushi bars have very, very similar tried and true menus, but here the chef puts a unique and very tasteful twist on everything. One suggestion; although the edamame was fresh, warm, and not too salty.....a garlic edamame would be a great addition. Will definitely return! read more

Today was my second time visiting sushi shack and it was just as amazing the second time around. The restaurant was beautiful and relaxed with great food, drinks, and staff. Sailor was my server and she was so friendly and helpful and made sure to check in on the food and give suggestions on what to order. I absolutely plan on eating here again! read more

Great but roll the rolls tighter so they don't fall apart when you try to use chopsticks with them!

Got takeout here. Seemed like a good ambience in the restaurant but we took it home and ate it there. About as good as grocery store sushi--not going to kill you but not special either--for twice the price. read more
