Alissa was my server, and she was incredibly helpful, informative, and never stopped smiling. She helped me with my lunch decision, and I opted for the Kaizen Roll and a spicy yellowtail hand roll. The Kaizen Roll had the perfect balance of sweet, spicy, salty, and crunchy--everything you want in one mouthwatering bite! The spicy yellowtail hand roll was also delicious, with just the right amount of spicy yellowtail, seaweed, cucumber, avocado, and the light rice I requested. The restaurant and restrooms were both very clean, and the fresh flowers added such a sweet touch. Even the background music was at the perfect volume--not too loud. Sadly, they do not offer wheelchair access. However, they have a pet-friendly outdoor patio, which is a nice bonus. I'm already looking forward to returning again and again. Had some amazing rolls at sushi shack! They have a little smaller of a variety. Not as many basic rules, but I will say that all of the specialty rolls we had were really great! My favorite was the holy Cali roll. If you're a fan of beer on top, they had 40 different varieties that my friends enjoyed the peaches and cream as well as the blueberry lemon Sauer. Had a great atmosphere and if the weather is nice, you can even go sit outside on the patio. Our waiter was a little delayed at times and such but still overall the quality that came from the rolls were delicious. If you're craving sushi in downtown Meridian, check out the spot! read more

Spent over a year looking for at least decent sushi in Idaho. Best I had found was Ahi in Eagle until I heard about this place. I cannot rave enough about the freshness of the fish and the wonderful combination of flavors they create with their rolls. From sashimi to specialty rolls, this is what I was missing. To have this gem nestled inside two very cool restaurants/bars is a match made in heaven. Kids are allowed upstairs, but downstairs is adults only. Many draft beers and any mixed drink you can think of wanting. If beyond the thinking stage, they have a great list of in-house concoctions as well. I'm partial to hot sake and cold beer. Too old for sake bombs, but alternating offers the same enjoyment. Did I mention the staff? Can't beat that either. Laid back, but with attention to detail. Sushi shack has great reviews and an excellent rating on Yelp It's located inside Heritage Hop Haus There were quite a number of locals inside which was great. We looked at the menu then found the sushi menu. Everything was very well plated, the presentation was excellent but it did feel strange eating sushi in a pub. We finished and another couple sat at the bar and wanted sushi but apparently the sushi time was over at 5pm. We were appreciative of the happy hour pricing though. I'm glad weren't late. Perhaps we're just uneducated as to how the Sushi Stack works inside the Heritage shop Haus. I would go again and definitely have some adult beverages. read more

Went here for my birthday celebration, what I was impressed by was their ability to accommodate 20+ people in short order, really grateful they did. You have to order at the counter but that's a small sacrifice for the quality of their food. Salmon bites are a must and you really can't go wrong with any of their rolls. There was a cool, cellar vibe, with a low ceiling and tables. We chose a large, round table at the bottom of the stairs. There is no table service; you go to the counter and order. They have a nice beer tap variety. My daughter and I ordered IPAs, mine with a unique, pistachio aftertaste. The bartender was nice. Our son and I ordered poke, my wife had the potstickers, spicy edamame, and miso soup, and our daughter had a roll and some nigiri. Really disappointing experience, especially for the price and all the high ratings. We spent over $100 expecting quality sushi and rolls, but everything was underwhelming. The Idaho Roll and Stepping Stone Roll were mostly rice with barely any filling. The bluefin tuna sushi looked brown, and the salmon had a weird, almost moldy taste . Sushi shack is a hidden gem of Meridian! The sushi here tastes great and has a great price point in my opinion. It isn't the best sushi I've ever had but for sushi in the Boise area, I would say it's pretty good! They have a variety of rolls to choose from including classic rolls and specialty rolls. My absolute favorite is the Philly roll, the smoked salmon is hard to beat! I also love their miso soup, it's the perfect starter! We also tried the spicy hoisin wings and really liked them! I will say for $1.50 a wing, they were very small, but they had good flavor. They share a space with a bar downstairs, which is a great spot to head after dinner for drinks! read more
