Moved to the area last fall. This is my new favorite restaurant. Period. Anything you order is so flavorful. My favorites are Hong Kong chicken special, Mongolian beef, and General Ching's (Tso) chicken.

This is the worst Chinese food ever. My pork chow main had no pork . Flavor was nasty. We need a decent hunan or mandarin .

Service was great. Ambiance was typical. Food wasn't as good as last time we ate here.

Eeek! so gross. I wish I had taken pictures before I threw it away. Chicken was way too greasy. Chow mein had no flavor.

The food is amazing. I've been coming here for years. The food is always the same. The madarin chicken is my favorite.

Menu looked real good, but I didn't get to try it because they didn't deliver- if it's local, I am sure it's decent.

Great food, great prices, great service! We really like this place, a gem of a place in little ol' Payette Idaho!

Use their takeout once or twice a month. The complete dinners are enough for two.

Ask the Community - Mandarin Restaurant

Is there a Chinese restaurant that cooks fresh food everday? Maybe in Payette or Fruitland, Idaho

Mandarin Restaurant food is fresh, high quality and made to order. Family owned and run. Much better in my estimation than chains like Panda, etc. I travel and eat in a lot of restaurants, and you will have a tough time finding a better… Read more

I ate here with my pally a couple days ago. Part of my order was fried shrimp. I noticed they had…read morenot deveined the shrimp so I didn't eat it. The black line when it isn't deveined is in essence "poop", the digestive tract of the shrimp. It is edible though it may add a gritty texture and/or a bitter taste. If you eat it, you are eating what the shrimp already ate. It simply does NOT appeal to me to eat it. I figure some slappos don't care and just eat it. When I paid the bill I asked the server if that was normally how shrimp was served here. The server seems to be a good joe. He claims he has no clue whether or not shrimp is usually fixed that way. He suggested I should just not order any shrimp dish again if I don't like it that way. But this made me wonder what other practices this kitchen prepares food under. I won't order shrimp again at Mulan Garden cause I won't eat there again. It doesn't make any sense to me they don't devein the shrimp they serve. I think it's disgusting. I cannot recall the last time I was served shrimp that had not been deveined. I don't think "good " restaurants serve shrimp that has not had it's digestive tract removed.
