Went back over the Christmas Holidays and Damiano was behind the counter making the food in the kitchen. I ordered a calzone and verified that it would be made with sliced ham. It came out freshly made, a 10/10, just like the ones I used to get when I was little. Thank God. Sunday evening after a movie... called Roma's and was super delighted when the phone picked up and immediately hung up on us... TWICE. When we finally got a hold of someone, mind you this is 9:20pm the male on the line told us they close at 9:30pm... liar. You place your order at the counter when you first walk in. It was not busy for 5:30pm on a Tuesday, but they only had 3 employees, one at cash register, one prep cook, and one in the kitchen. I had one couple in front on me and almost walked out because of the amount of time I had to wait just to place my order. My food came out faster than it took to place my order. Uhh. This is a 1.5 but they screwed up so bad and continued to do so they get the round down. . Ordered a cheese and spinach calazone and a steak sub (the most expensive one with the works). The calizone came out a good 10 minutes before the sub. Blazing hot. Once it cooled it was no doubt packed with cheese but pretty darn bland. Take away a lot of cheese and put spinach in its place and would have been better. The sub.. there was no saving it. Let's start off. They used steak um meat. It clearly says steak and u have eaten enough steakum to know it doesn't list steak in the box let alone beef as the main ingredient. That's basically balone and miss advertisement . Then they forgot the cheese and the bread was terrible. The fries were hot on the outside but uncooked on the inside. I took them back and I said just give me the value in pizza. Literally ate 2 fries and 1 bite of the sandwich. Offered to remake it and I said it was too bad to make me believe they could make it right... Well they gave me 2 slices of pizza. 6.25 worth of pizza for an 11 dollar sandwich. Yeah the pizza was good but almost double the price? No thanks . Can't recommend as it wasn't made right read more

Best pizza in Augusta. Giuseppe's down the street is BARELY NYC style. I would rather take dominoes over them. Roma's is the closest thing to NY pizza in the south. The owner really cares. Everything is made fresh and you can watch the whole process if you want. I have no clue what these people are talking about. This is one of my favorite Pizza places in the area. You get to watch them spin the dough and the ingredients are fresh and flavorful. I guess you would classify it as a New York style pizza. The crust is baked perfectly and not to thin and not to thick. So why not 5 stars? The drink machine is in the corner and has limited access, so when another guest is taking their time, you are waiting. How long does it take to fill a cup, this visit 5 minutes. Really! I Love Romas, my husband & I eat here often and we've only been disappointed once. My husband is from New York so this is just about the closest we will get to NY style pizza. The prices are reasonable & the customer service has always been great. I've just recently tried the buffalo wings....they were on point! No bad review here. read more

Pizza is good. Only negative is that our pie wasn't slice deep enough for us to pick up. We had to pretty much cut it ourselves.

Me and my boyfriend came here and our pizza was not good at all. It tasted like the ingredients were not fresh at all and left a bad taste in my mouth. This place is a joke! First off; I didn't actually eat the pizza so i can't comment about the food quality. After waiting 25min in their store I said screw it. The first thing i saw was that the customer infront of me had dropped the pen onto the Slice pie behind the counter. The counter girl didn't seem phased by this and simply grabbed the pen off the pizza and left the slice there. Ok i will let that slide. But the rest of the place looked like a health hazard. Over flowing garbage cans, work shirts that look like they haven't been washed in three years. The employees didn't really seem to care that my pizza wasn't ready when i arrived 40min after i called in. The only way this place must exist is to sell drugs out of. Full disclosure, native New Yorker, pizza snob. Tried Roma's a year or so ago and remembered pizza OK but took forever to get a couple slices heated up. Tried again yesterday. Same took forever to have couple of slices (place not busy) heated up but was more like bad imitation of NY pizza. Had mushroom slice, was mushrooms from a can. Crust was awful, like cardboard. Sorry guys, you've got to do better than that. Better off getting some Publix pizza dough and make it yourself. read more

I wouldn't be able to tell you how the pizza tastes because I never received mine. I was with my fiancé today who ordered the exact same pizza for his visiting family AFTER. I placed my order first. I thought it was odd that he was called first and we had the EXACT same pizza. They lied and states mine was coming out of the oven... Which was a lie. They never put my order in. I had a coke while I waited and when I asked for a refund because (by this time) 5 other people had gotten their pizza, they refused to refund me the drink! They suck butt. We had to wait almost and hour for 2 slices of cheese and a Stromboli and it wasn't even busy. The black guy has a horrible attitude and the guy in the front doesn't know how to do his job at all. It's just gone down hill the past couple of months. Wouldn't recommend going there. 6/7/2019 I specified that I wanted half pepperoni and half sausage and onion but Roma's decided to do what they wanted.

My daughter and I wanted a NY style pizza so after calling the store twice and the line being busy I placed an order on Grubhub for a XL pepperoni and bacon with extra cheese and two orders of wings. We drive over to pick the order up and a young man tells me they are out of wings but no worries, they will refund me the price of the wings. As I waited another 15 mins(still no pizza that was ordered 30 mins earlier kind you) a couple came up and placed an order and concluded it with a drink order of 4 drinks to which the young man replied, " we don't have any cups so no drinks". Now they weren't terribly busy, maybe 4-5 tables however this young man, a woman making pizzas and a fella who looked like he was trying to find a window to lick were, as Charlie Daniels so eloquently phrased it, "stepping like their hair was on fire and their ass was a catchin." Finally the pizza maker woman forced open the register and asked what I ordered. I told her I had placed an order online for an XL pizza and two orders of wings. We don't have online orders, you didn't order from here. Well I ordered through Grubhub and they sent me a text that the order was ready. Well they are wrong because I havnt made it and we don't have wings so there. Well what about my refund I ask, well that yours problem not mine you paid Grubhub not is so go deal with them. I walked out and called Grubhub and spoke with an agent who apologized profusely for the poor customer service. I have never experienced such horrible customer service from a piss poor establishment in my life. I wouldn't recommend Roma's to an enemy facing a firing squad. I don't go to Roma's much but every time i do its always hands down the best. good food, drinks and service. its so much better than mellow or pizza joint for sure. anytime my friends or family craving pizza we choose Roma's and leave satisfied a hundred percent. read more

Cashier was very nice- she took our order she read it out to the manager - he nodded after she told him order , he started making it ( not busy at all) . Our order started to come out in about 10 minutes - 1 persons order then about 7-8 minutes later another persons order then after they were done I still had no food - after about 10 minutes from the last order being brought to the table I got up to ask - he forgot! No apology - the cashier was apologizing but rest of our of party is done eating and ready to go since we had been waiting and had plans to get to - had to get my food to go ! Unfortunately this has happen before to us! Sad we love this place and the food was always good! Our go to for Pizza! Now we will have to find another spot! read more

We went for lunch, there were 4 of us and it was pretty expensive. I thought the food quality and taste would be better for the price I paid. The pizza did not have much flavor, it was lacking sauce and the cheese tastes like cardboard. The pizza sits out and they heat it for you when you order so i am not sure how long it was sitting out before they served it. I will not return to this restaurant again read more

I used to love going here for pizza. It used to be the best pizza place in Augusta until today. I was looking forward to enjoying my pizza. I ordered and sat down and waited for my food. While I was sitting down I noticed what I thought was a huge roach crawling on the wall a few feet away from me. I notified a worker right away, they replied "sorry about that but it's a water bug it's a southern thing" Lmao!! Immediately they send a worker to take care of it he couldn't find it. I noticed the main entrance had a gap between the door which made me think what else is crawling in here that I haven't noticed... This was absolutely the worst pizza I've ever tasted. We got a cheese pizza and a ham and pepperoni Stromboli. First off the crust and bread in general is tasteless. The Stromboli was just a loaf of bread without anything but soggy wet cheese and like one piece of ham and small pieces of pepperoni. Dominos tastes better than this. I placed an order through Grubhub at 12:32. At 1:07, Grubhub called me and said they were at the restaurant and that it was going to be another 25 minutes. I called the restaurant to see what the hold up was and they said they received the order five minutes ago. Strangely enough, I got a message at 12:47 saying Romas wanted to add another dollar to my order for the extra mushrooms I requested. If they didn't receive my order until after 1:00, then how would they know that I wanted the extra mushrooms? When I asked the guy at the restaurant how long it was going to be, he said, "About five minutes." and he hung up on me. The food is good but the customer service sucks. read more

My wife and I lived in Augusta 17 yrs ago and Roma's was are go to pizza place. So when we moved back this month we gave them a try. Lg. cheese pie, its was just as good as I remember. !!!STOP AND READ!!! This is by far the worst pizza spot on the face of the earth. I ordered chicken wings from this place in hopes of getting fresh food, and I ended up getting chicken wings that tasted a day old. My Stromboli was halfway cooked, and they even served me the wrong salad. This was literally a three strikes and you're out deal. I may business traveler so I have the privilege of traveling to many different places and tasting different foods. This restaurant has successfully made it to my top five worst restaurants. This is my first time ordering a pizza from Roma's and the service was very much subpar for the price of the pizza. I waited a few minutes short of an hour after placing an order via phone to receive my pizza. The pizza itself was also very underwhelming for the price point. 2 stars is a fair rating considering my experience. Would not recommend and will not be a return customer. read more
