I emailed her multiple times and received no responses, I tried the manufacturer but unfortunately it's one of those "call your dealer," type places. The stickers that might have had the info we're all sunbleached and unreadable. I finally gave up and ordered something that doesn't match. Not how I imagined this would work when I hired an expensive designer. Also, we just discovered Komal's contractors who installed our sink/kitchen faucet didn't cut out sufficient space for the faucet collet. So now the whole thing has come loose and is falling over, I paid Stand Brothers to find out that they can't fix it until I hire someone to cut into the drywall and open up the correct space. Frustrating. I didn't think I was paying for cheap work but here we are.

I'm assuming she meant a utilitarian, straight man who still had his college furniture. On the bright side, I'm not constantly redecorating, and my husband is happy. So we finally decided that our house needed some color besides the neutral brown/beige tones bestowed upon us by our manly builder and our love of natural woods and leather accents. The only problem was that, having the decorating knowledge equivalent to two men, and the budget equivalent to a couple with two expensive children, we hesitated every time it came to decisions. I ran across a Groupon awhile back for a color consultation from Spaces Designed, and I decided to call in a professional. The young woman who showed up with swatches and color strips was calm, professional, and kinder than my Realtor had been, by far (maybe it helped to have long since given away my college furniture?). She asked me questions about what colors and styles I like and don't like, and then she confidently whipped out her tools like a magic wand and laid out a color plan for me. Within an hour, I had designer colors for my pseudo man-cave that actually made me happy, because they weren't brown or freaky pink or any other risky colors that scare me. They were an array of muted grey-greens. I hesitated a bit when the painter was working, because I wasn't used to color on my walls, but I bit my tongue. And when it was all done and everything was put back where it belonged, my house was beautiful. I know this, because several of my female friends with actual decorating talent told me so, and rather convincingly at that. So if you're ready for a change, even you don't have the budget or the stomach for a total remodel, you might want to check them out for something as simple as a color consultation. I know they do a lot more than this, and if I have the budget in the future, I'd give them a call again.

TLDR: DO NOT USE Caribbean Blue Pools for ANY sort of pool renovations.  The quality of work and…read moreprofessionalism is obsolete.  I had a 30k+ pool renovation that they made a nightmare, details below.  I could not regret more, choosing them to do my renovations.  There is no upside to using Caribbean Blue Pools, I urge anyone considering pool renovations to skip them.  They do not care about you as a customer and will take advantage. **Update** The leak that Ken "fixed" did not hold and I will have to rerip up my finished pool for the 3rd time.  Ken failed to property renovate the pool and pressure test the lines before starting the renovation (which is the industry standard for a non working pool).  I messaged him to work through this and he did not respond.  I had an outdated and not working pool in the house I recently moved into.  I know nothing about pools and reached out to Ken to do a full remodel (tile, plaster, lights, equipment, etc) everything to get a pool up and running.  Ken reassured me that he had 20 years of experience and that they were fully competent to get my pool up and running. I cut a check for 10k and they got going.  He installed the equipment and contracted the tile and plastering out to another company.  When they finished and went to fill the pool, all the problems started.  The pool would not hold water and my yard started flooding.   Ken requested the reaming 20k for a "job well done".  I let him know that my pool was not working and I was not comfortable paying the full amount.  He lost it on me and told me that he has done his job and demands to be paid in full.  I paid for the work and proceeded to watch my BRAND NEW pool drain and flood my backyard.  I had to hire a third party leak detector that informed me a have a pool leak under my brand new pool deck.  I reached out to Ken multiple times and he told me "This isn't my problem your pool never worked when we started on it". I called him to talk through the situation and knowing nothing about pools, felt extremely helpless.  He LITERALLY laughed at me (I have this recorded) saying this is why I have my contract about testing for leaks before we start our work (Ha,ha,ha).  You have 20 years experience Ken, if you're so proud of it, use it to inform your clients of work that needed to be done! He admitted knowing that there was an issue with the hot tub holding water but failed to rely the importance of this to me before starting.  He also did not pressure test the lines before starting the work.  This cost me having just completed my full renovation (deck included) to have the brand new deck ripped up along with the brand new tile of the hot tub. The issues only furthered from there.  The leak detector informed me that the equipment that Ken with 20+ years of pool experience installed, was done incorrectly.  (Video here: https://youtu.be/4rjEOiIEPjE)  He did not ground my pool equipment and even left the equipment unbolted to the concrete slab which would have broke my pipes.  Leaving pool equipment unbonded is illegal.  Ken just did not want to do the work, due to the ground wire being harder to find.  I would NEVER have known that my equipment wasn't even properly installed unless I had been told (Ken knew this and never mentioned it to me!). The leak detector had a tough time locating the leak and Ken demanded that he speak to the leak detector.  Ken suggested digging into the floor of the brand new hot tub to look for the leak.  Unfortunately, this wasnt were the leak was and Ken's suggestion ended up costing me an additional $400, which he charged me to fix!  Thank you! He then wrote up a quote to fix a new targeted leak of the pool.  This was finally finished and supposedly I have a working pool.  Shockingly, the pool is still not holding water and I have the leak detector come back out.  I come to find that I also have a bad drain, plug and multiport valve that need to be replaced for another $500.  This should have been caught during the entire equipment revamp.  Ken also charged me an additional $1,500 to fix a leak that he suspected was there before starting the work.  I am also still waiting and will have to pay to have my brand new deck fixed due to this company's negligence. Do not trust them with large jobs.  If you want someone to just dump chemicals in your pool and collect your money, feel free but leave the large work for another company.

He finally got it looking decent but not great. When I got his first bill it was not what he quoted me and when I questioned him he was rude again. not a nice or helpful person. Update 10/27/2013 As you can see by his reply just like his emails to me his demeanor and lack of professionalism continues to shine through. We used the same pool company for 4+ years they were fine got real big and customer service started to lag. We hired another pool company and they did a great job but their prices were not doable for us then he came along. His work was poor and professionalism lacking. I kept the nasty emails he wrote and have submitted our complaint to the BBB. We have a pool company now that we are thrilled with. We also found out from our neighbors he was bad mouthing other customers who had fired him as well. Of course they did not proceed with Aquatique. We were very pleased with the project and hired them to do a small kitchen project to replace the lighting. That took a week and came out great. Last year we hired Doug to do a our kitchen and bathroom remodels. They came out great! One thing I liked about Doug was he let me purchase a lot of the materials and fixtures and his team did the construction. He also gave me great recommendations for things they don't do, like window replacement. Clearly we have been very happy with the work and we will use Chaparral for our next project.

We purchased a home that had a pool built by PoolScapes in 2007. Now, all pools need repairs,…read moreespecially one that is more than 10 years old. Understandable and expected. We had waterline tiles cracking and some cracked coping stones. Decided to fix. When the coping was removed, it was discovered that there was no grout joint (nothing in between waterline tiles and coping -- so the weight of the coping stones was directly upon the waterline tiles, pushed so much that they were breaking). Upon research and conversations with 4 repair companies, I have learned that there should be a buffer between the waterline tiles and the coping stones. So according to these 4 companies (who did not know who built the pool) the pool was built incorrectly. To do a correct repair would be to remove all coping, the waterline tiles that touched the coping, add the grout joint, replace/retile waterline tiles, replace coping stones. Not inexpensive. When I reached out to PoolScapes to learn what the waterline tile was (manufacturer, where purchased) so I could purchase to match I was completely blown off. I explained my situation on the phone and the woman said she couldn't find the file for the pool, couldn't reach anyone who could answer my question, and wouldn't be able to have someone call me back for at least a week. It's been 6 weeks. They have my name, my number. Crickets. I'm not asking them to repair any of their work that, according to the 4 repair companies I've asked, was done incorrectly. I'm not reaching out to the people we bought our home from who most likely had PoolScapes build their pool to let them know PoolScapes may have taken a shortcut on their new pool. All I wanted was to know was about the waterline tile. I have the contract for the pool. For the cost, I would have expected the pool to be built correctly. You trust the people who it is their job. Poolscapes builds pools, so you'd guess they would do it right. I never expected such a shortcut to be taken. They cost me thousands in repairs that should have not been needed. If they built the pool correctly it wouldn't have been an issue. All they had to do was call back and tell me about a tile.

Hey, right off the bat he saved me a small fortune by identifying critical problems with my pool to be, and recommended an Engineer come out and take a look before I closed on the deal. Good news, the pool was in terrible condition, but structurally sound. I got plenty of $ from the seller that Matt was able to put into an action plan for pool remediation. It was summer, a hard time to get the masons, but on closing day, the Poseidon team was in the driveway ready to repair, replaster, retile... totally remodel. Time to choose things like pool finish, tile, coping... Matt was a gentle consultant and made sure I didn't make a couple of wacky mistakes as I faced so many choices. He didn't tell me what to do, but always provided considerations and the voice of experience. Man, this was so valuable! I have a beautiful pool. New plumbing, and realistic expectations on the old equipment that was still good enough to salvage. Matt has walked me through testing, good maintenance, and how all the suction/backwash and outflow works, I wouldn't say I'm a pro... but hey, I'm no rookie either! The Poseidon team also maintains my pool. Yeah, I could do this myself I think, but they are so good, and with the new plaster and all, I know they are keeping my readings spot on so that I don't get a few years down the road and have the problems the previous owner of my place did. You can see my pool on the Poseidon website, but it's a pool. I love it and we use it daily (when it's not quite so cold outside). I think the peace of mind for me is knowing that I went with someone who was really interested in making my old pool beautiful again, and who is dedicated to keeping it running in top form. Everyone I've dealt with at Poseidon from the maintenance team to the plumbers, electricians, masons and tile guys have been professional, knowledgeable and efficient. All have answered endless questions from the newbie. How do you pick a pool service team when you don't know anything about such things? You do it by recommendation. That's how I found Poseidon, and I'm so glad I was led to them.
