A great place for an outdoor lunch break, some exercise, playtime, or family time. I am so thankful that Irving has such a beautiful park with such an intentionally inclusive design. I hope that some future maintenance or re-design might be in the works for the restrooms which do not have functioning facets at this time and feature only one metal, latrine-style toilet which isn't very user-friendly. Apart from that, this park features great design, landscaping and offerings that make you feel you've retreated from the city a bit. I've never visited in the evenings--only afternoons but it's been pretty peaceful in those times.

Terrible gym. Incompetent and rude staff. First time I've been kicked off a machine in 30 years of…read moreworking out in gyms across the world...literally while in the middle of my set by an employee unracking my weights and telling me to get off cause they are moving the exact machine I was currently using,.. I only had two sets left, mind you, and my sweater was on machine, I was getting ready to sit in it and use it, and the employee starts unracking my weights. I said "excuse me, I am using this and he said well we are moving it"! Never ever would this happen at 24 hour fitness or any other commercial big or small private gym. They know how to put their patrons first at those other places. IF he actually was taught to put members first, he would've let me finish the extra three minutes it would have taken me to complete my sets... never going back here. Or they could've put a sign to not use machine, like all other gyms in the world do. I have been a personal trainer all my life and never have I witnessed anything like what happened to me here today. If you're serious about your workouts and your time in the gym, don't bother with this incompetent staff that doesn't know how to put paying members first. What I experienced today is like eating at a restaurant and while you're in the middle of taking a bite of your half eaten burger, the waiter comes to your table and grabs your plate with your fries from underneath you. Who does that? LOL. But that is not the worst of it.. after the manager talks to me, the rude employee that kicked me off my machine (older man) comes over to where I am and rolls his eyes and tells me "get over it"!!! I've never been spoken to so poorly by a grown man. Shame on him for speaking to a lady that way. Zero respect, zero common sense, zero gym etiquette or know how. These people are running a joke of an establishment and their employees know nothing about serious training or why people actually go to the gym and yet they work at a gym. My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Park, Return) Atmosphere - Rio Vista Park is located in Irving's La Villita neighborhood. It's an official Irving Park so it's open to the public. It's a quiet park that sits in between houses in the neighborhood. On pretty days you'll see a pickup game or two of basketball or a family gather at the covered patio on weekends. On the weekends, several cars will be parked alongside the park because it's such a great entrance to Campion Trails. 2 Star. Park - While the entrance to Campion Trails is why most people visit the park; it still has some great features. There are two half court basketball hoops, a playground for young kids, and a covered patio with outdoor grills. Rio Vistra Park also has a long green field surrounded by a sidewalk (great for walking) where football games will spawn in the fall.
