Great neighborhood park!…read more There are paved walking paths that lead wound the park and end into the neighborhoods. There is even a beautiful metal and wood bridge that crosses the creek. The playground is small but kept neat. They replaced the wood chips with AstroTurf to give the park a modern look. The equipment is great for little kids. There's a basketball court for the older kids and there's a gazebo with tables so you can take a rest from all the fun. Even grills if you want to have a cookout. There are tables and trash cans placed around the park so you can have your own celebration. The park is usually quiet during the week. On weekends there are events like soccer games or workout sessions. The walking paths in the park are lit at night with lamp posts but there were less lights as you get closer to the neighborhoods. So I would bring a flashlight if you fancy a night stroll. Overall, a great little park!

One of my favorite parks near DFW--feels more remote and peaceful than some and offers a nice…read morewalking trail which is ideal for some lunchtime exercise. Not typically busy or over-crowded, you can really feel you've stepped away from the city here a bit. I've enjoyed watching and photographing butterflies/insects here, swinging on the big-kid swings, walking the trail (it might be 1/4 mile around) and having my lunch at one of the two picnic tables. I've also seen some unique birds here and though it'd be smart to bring binoculars sometime to bird-watch. Those who feel inspired by planes/travel can also enjoy watching planes landing and taking off from DFW nearby. You can also see downtown Dallas far-off in the distance. My main recommendations for improvements would be more shade trees for the trail, more plantings to feed/attract butterflies, and a port-a-John. There is currently no option for restroom needs and I've occasionally seen evidence of people taking that liberty out in the park

At night you can see Dallas from the swing sets. There is a small playground for kiddos with three slides. A few picnic tables and benches to sit on. There is a sidewalk that takes you away from the playground and back, great for walking, jogging, skateboarding, etc. Added some photos to help give a visual of the area because Yelp didn't have any for this little gem of a park.

It was really refreshing to see, and for the most part, people there were also taking care of the park during its use as well. We saw other kids his age there as well at the base of the orb with their parents. He became completely fixated on traversing through the orb thing in the middle of the playground, as one would be as it's an amazing structure. He kept trying over and over and over to go up the ropes and into the first layer of the orb. He was scared, the layers of the orb are made with rope, and I had to go with him while helping him physically, which was heavy on me physically, and I am fit. There were certain parts in that first 'orb layer' that had no net and a steep drop off to the ground. My boy thought it might be fun to try jumping off of it so I had to fight against him to keep him from those parts. I went down the slide with him in my lap to get down. We tried every single time to distract and recenter his focus to get him to try the other playground areas but he was fixated on that orb and wouldn't stop. He is athletic at 55 lbs so usually he prefers the big kid areas at parks. We ended up having to carry him out with him crying, kicking, and screaming due to this playground orb feature. We went to another nearby playground, which was a blast.

Speaking of bathrooms, and I know park bathrooms can be scary, these ones really are pretty clean! Parr Park is big and clean and lush and green. It's connected to the Bear Creek trails, so there really is a lot of nature to explore. There are almost always people around so it's never too quiet, but it's still big and forest-y enough that you could feel a little bit lost in the wild, if you wanted to (I do).

My Overall Rating - 5 Stars Atmosphere - La Villita is a Spanish themed mixed-use neighborhood. There are apartments, town homes, parks, and single family homes. Right in the middle is Lago de Claire. On a cool, weekday evening or weekend morning, the lake is full of people and energy. You'll find families, runners, walkers, and people of all cultures. 1 Star. Service - The only service here is cell phone service, and it's good. 1 Star. Lake - I love walking around the lake every day. There's a gazebo on the north end of the lake, which is a great gathering/resting spot, and it overlooks the lake. On the east end are the canals, and you'll find several ducks or birds depending on the season. There's also a small square with two dancing statues. This is a very popular space for gathering and is especially busy in the evenings. I love walking around Lago de Claire at different times of days and take photos of the sunrise, sunset, and lake itself. Bonus - if you play Pokémon Go there is a gym here. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. I walk around the lake everyday depending on the time. It's the best part of this hidden neighborhood and a great place to visit. 1 Star.

It was until i got a herniated dish and couldn't walk too far that i decided to check this place out. HOLY COW. This place is the most serene, quiet, calm, clean mini park i have seen. There usually only one it two other people here when i go, and it's like having the park all to myself. It's so tiny, so as you are walking you can see the entire park in a circle. This really helped me mentally when i herniated my disk, so now i come here when I'm stressed and need a mental break! I love this kil secret park.
