With a hike and bike trail, history of the city of Irving, historic home, large covered pavilion, statues, multiple bridges, great sunset views, several species of birds, ducks, geese, and turtles and a location within easy proximity to South Irving Library, Millenium Park, and Senter Rec Center, this park is worth a visit. No restroom facilities here but there is a port-a-john near the Senter Rec Center & restrooms inside the South Irving Library. I was surprised by the crowds at the end of May 2020 - some people were fishing, walking, doing photo shoots, biking/scooting, watching wildlife, chilling in the grass with a romantic partner, taking graduation photos. People were eager to be outdoors and active! To top it all off, I saw a gorgeous sunset at this park AND spotted my first green heron!! My only disappointment is the amount of trash along (and in) the water bodies at this park.

Centennial Park is great for several reasons. The scene is perfect, especially in the nice warm weather. I was taking a stroll around the lake area with my hubs and noticed the ducks in the water, people having a little family lunch where the tables where on the other side of the lake. The sun was glistening on the water which made the the tranquil vibe more relaxing. The vibe was even perfect for the couple I seen having the photographer take their wedding photos. I'll definitely visit again when in the area. If you like jogging, or walking with your friends, or a peaceful setting this is nice.

Beautiful Christmas lights with lots of ducks swimming. Not a lot of people know about this park, so if you like lights and want to avoid crowds, this will be a good place to go to. Lights are turned off around 10 but the park doesn't close until 12.

    Garbage in Centennial Park pond.

We had enjoyed visiting this park since moving to Irving almost six years ago. There's a nice walking path that winds around the pond, which is usually filled with ducks and geese. I love that the park is conveniently located right across the street from the library. Unfortunately, the last couple of times we've visited, there was a TON of garbage floating in the pond. The water was stagnant and incredibly dirty looking. I'm not sure who is supposed to be maintaining this park, but it definitely needs some upkeep. There was also a large group of horseback riders on the walk this particular day and the horses left large piles of manure along the way. It was pretty disgusting to have to make our way around them. Are horses even permitted to gallop through public parks?

Beautiful views. A bridge. Nice long trail. Lots of trees and ducks. Lots of things about Irving's history. A great place to take pictures.

Great place to take pictures, go for a run and even hit the library. As my sister and I were browsing for places around Irving to go to, we stumbled upon this park while searching on Google. Sadly no reviews at the time to match up with the park, but ladies and gents I present you the 2nd review to come up about place! (BTW: This isn't a park with swings and a playground) This is definitely a hidden gem in Irving! It's a really nice clean park (besides all the algae that grows in the lake and the trash that occasionally floats in the lake...) I even shot a spontaneous photoshoot at the park and it was awesome. The park also has seats lined up around the lake and even a small area with picnic tables for the few that like to stop by and munch on a bit of food. Awesome part is that if you're sweaty hot and aren't doing so hot in the Texas weather the library is actually only a 5 minute walking distance from the park and it's nice and clean and really cold in there. Overall, the park was really nice and we really enjoyed the scenery and the nice library nearby. It's definitely a park that I was surprised wasn't reviewed on Yelp.

Great getaway spot from all the bustling surrounding cities of Dallas and Fort Worth. Not to mention a great place for all photographers; I would recommend coming during sunrise or sunset when the sun would be in your favor. Relatively large and clean park with lots of different backdrops to play around with. One of the best parts of the park is the fact that it's located right next to a public library, so you can always count on there being a relatively clean restroom for you while you're visiting the park. Don't be fooled by the surrounding areas not being all so lavish looking because when people talk about city hidden gems, Centennial Park is definitely a hidden gem of Irving.

Andy Brown is a beautiful space, from the pond to the open fields, the sidewalk/bike path, multiple large pavilions, and fun playground. There are large, mature trees surrounding the park. We parked in the wrong lot and had to walk alongside the gym in order to get to the playground and I couldn't believe how beautiful the pathways were with all the trees and the small creek running alongside. Not what I expected from a city park! The playground itself ("Kid Country") is almost fully enclosed and is a sprawling assortment of things to climb up, swing on, and slide down. There is a play area in the toddler section with storefronts to spark pretend play. The ground is bark. There are large trees in the center of the play area that provide shade and make the play structure look more natural than your typical playground. Almost like a tree house. There are benches scattered throughout the play area and a large covered pavilion with multiple picnic tables underneath. The city of Coppell provides free WiFi there and there were multiple moms with laptops out, working, while their kids played. The only big negative is the distance from the playground to the bathroom. I understand that they probably built the bathrooms more toward the center of the park, but the wise choice would have been to also put an additional small restroom right next to the playground. It's too far of a walk for me to feel comfortable sending my younger kids over there alone and it's kind of a bummer to have to wrangle together the entire group every time one kid has to pee. Otherwise, a fabulous park. LOVE IT. Hats off to you, Coppell!

Right in the middle is Lago de Claire. On a cool, weekday evening or weekend morning, the lake is full of people and energy. Lake - I love walking around the lake every day. There's a gazebo on the north end of the lake, which is a great gathering/resting spot, and it overlooks the lake. On the east end are the canals, and you'll find several ducks or birds depending on the season. There's also a small square with two dancing statues. This is a very popular space for gathering and is especially busy in the evenings. I love walking around Lago de Claire at different times of days and take photos of the sunrise, sunset, and lake itself. Bonus - if you play Pokémon Go there is a gym here. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. I walk around the lake everyday depending on the time. It's the best part of this hidden neighborhood and a great place to visit. 1 Star.
