I am really disappointed with the rodeo cafes service today. My friend and I have been coming for 3 years now and overall we have had good waiters and waitresses. The last two times we have come in we have had the same waitress (who's been there a long time) and she was completely rude to both of us. We usually take 15-20 min to order as usual and it was lunchtime and very slow. She brought our salads out and I had a wait 10 minutes to get a fork that I asked for twice and then once she served the food she only came back once to drop the check and we had to get up to ask for a box and she was cleaning her restrooms apparently while serving people food. Mind u this is the second time I've gotten sick there and she served the food both times. Someone needs to retrain her or remind her what customer service is about. But if I won't be coming back here anytime soon. Managers be aware! read more

On the first day of turning 50, I wanted to find a new place to go for a Mexican style breakfast. I did a lil search online for really good chilaquilles..... interestingly, this restaurant came up.. They weren't lying. We had a fantastic breakfast and the service was super friendly and quick. As an added bonus, they have a very unique, wine based Bloody Mary that was super tasty. We had a great meal. There was 21 of us unannounced for lunch at 12pm. We expected to be seated around the restaurant, but they were able to seat us all together after a short wait. Interesting little place. I used to come here back in the day when it was Joe's before it turned into Dorry's. I have heard so many people ranting and raving about how this is the best breakfast place in Riverside and a must try, so I decided to drive 30 minutes into town with my dad to check them out finally. Was it a total bust? No. Will I do it again? Also, no. The staff members who were working were very nice but I just really wasn't feeling the vibe or the food. Upon walking in, I felt like it was a little dark inside and honestly different than what I imagined. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but this wasnt it haha. Anyways, once we were seated, it took a few minutes for the waiter to come over to get our drinks and even longer for them to come back around and take our order. I figured that they were just busy because he was really nice so I didn't really mind at all. What kind of ruined it though was the fact that my dad and I's food came at completely different times. I'm talking like at least 8-10 minutes apart from each other. I got mine and the waiter said that he will be right back with his. I took a quick bite and noticed that mine was lukewarm. I figured that maybe mine had been sitting out for a few while his was finishing up, which is totally normal. Honestly though, that would have made sense if his came out immediately after but it didn't. We sat and waited and waited and waited. The waiter came back again and said it was coming out right now, but still, we were waiting a few minutes after. My dad ended up just telling me to just eat my food before it got really cold so I did, while he just sat there waiting. It was awkward but he was right because if I had waited any longer, it would have definitely been cold since it didn't even come out hot in the first place. Finally, his food came around and I was already done with mine. His came out hot, but they somehow got his order wrong and gave him the wrong thing. He didn't want to make a big deal of it because we really don't like to inconvenience staff so he ended up just eating what they gave him and we asked for the bill. The food itself was nothing special. It tastes like your average breakfast place, comparable to denny's. If theres any consolation though, I did really like the potatoes. They were well seasoned and crispy, something that most breakfast places completely mess up on. I guess I could see how people would love this place because there aren't really any half-decent breakfast places in Woodcrest. I on the other hand think that it was pretty low on the scale compared to other places in Riverside. Sure the employees are nice, but everything else was kind of meh and uneventful. For the price and the hype this place has gotten, I definitely was expecting more but I guess I will have to just take the loss and move on. Me and my family would drive out in the morning to go to Jurupa Valley and have breakfast at rodeo café. I finally have one in my own backyard on Van Buren Blvd. the food does not disappoint. Absolutely still delicious. Great service and staff nice location, prime spot big tables for the whole family steak was perfectly cooked and of course real eggs not that stuff in a carton. Consistently good food. Mostly. Hubby likes the fresh menudo with all the fixings and the family love the mixed menu of country style food, Mexican dishes and your basic American classics. My ONLY complaint is that try as I might to enjoy the biscuits and gravy when I have a hankering for country style breakfast, they are consistently disappointing. I wish someone would drive down to Polly's Pie's in Moreno Valley and learn how biscuits and gravy should be made... hint, hint. We will still come here though, because the food and service do make up for it! Ambiance is a bit loud but it's a family style place with a bar, Sports TV and screaming kids. My my my, in all my 78 years of life I've never had a better Mexico dish than the Chillaqullas here. My and my crew drove here for breakfast last weekend and might I saw. I've never seen such cutier and welcome men greet me at the door. I just wanted to eat them up. I wish they were on the menu. I got so happy when they would come by to give us drinks and food and ask us if we needed anything. Anyways, my gals were telling me this place is known for their Chilaquillas so I had to try it. Might I say they were so good I wanted to go back in the kitchen and make love to the cook that made my food. No holding back either. Anyways. This was the best meal to make me forget about my recent divorce and the environment just felt so great. Their location in Norco is a landmark and local favorite; so, we tried its new second location in Woodcrest-Riverside (Van Buren & Washington) today. It was about 2:00 p.m., just an hour before closing. It was practically empty. Our omelets were done perfectly and the house potatoes fried with onions were a real treat. That said, there was nothing extra special otherwise. Our side with biscuits and gravy was a disappointment; the gravy was lukewarm and somewhat bland. The place was clean and ther service was great. We'll return when convenient, but won't make a special trip eve though it's only 15 minutes away from home. read more

This was our first time since Dorey's. The food and ambiance was way better. My beau had the waffle and eggs. The waffle was warm but still tasty. I had the corn beef hash and eggs with crispy hash brown potatoes. I asked if the corn beef hash was homemade and he said yes. I think he may have misunderstood me because it seemed like it came from the can. It was still good though. It reminded me of when my daddy used to make us breakfast every Saturday morning.
