You get what you pay for. I know they are expensive, but they were the only company that has a life time guarantee! We already spent $500 for a cheaper exterminator and they didn't catch a single rat. (Apparently roof rats are elusive and hard to catch). The other exterminator claimed to seal all the holes but clearly they did not. We finally decided to spend the extra money and go with Rodent Stop. The technicians were so professional and detail oriented (thank you Israel and your crew!!). They stealed every crazy small hole in our house, attic, garage and foundation. They even pulled up the deck boards and sealed underneath. The work appears neat and clean (as they also added weather stripping to the doors, replaced our dryer vent and added stripping to the garage door as well). I discovered Rodents Stop by accident while driving down the freeway, contemplating what to do about a serious rat infestation in the crawl space of my home. I noticed one of the company's trucks on the 110 and then decided to look it up on Yelp. The reviews were good, so I called for a free estimate. For years there have been rats coming in and out of the house like it was a hotel leaving their droppings where ever they pleased and pissing all over the place. When we called Rodents Stop, they came over and immediately could smell where the rats have been and could explain everything that was going wrong in the house from issues with electrical wires and the dishwasher smell to problems sleeping and waking up. They quoted us a very reasonable price and would not accept a dime until the job was finished with satisfaction. They were very honest and promised a good nights sleep when the job was done--which was true. Gustavo showed up promptly with his crew and they immediately got to work, it was fascinating to watch; those guys knew exactly what they were doing and worked very well together. We had rats in the attic. And we had old insulation, old furnace parts, and the roofing company had left behind a lot of roofing trash and debris. I looked into three different companies. RODENTS STOP made me feel confident that they'd offer the best service. They took out 32 extra large contractor's bags of everything that was sadly up there - and we have a small attic. They emptied, cleaned, vacuummed, and sanitized the attic. They left a repellent to vacate the rats. As well as set traps but no rats were caught. All entry areas were closed off. Once the attic was sanitized and secure, they put insulation into the attic using both blow-in and roll out. It met the regulations for CA rebate. They cleaned up after each part of their service. I am really amazed at the thoroughness. I have had 2 other companies out to get rid of rats and mice. The Rodents Stop crew sealed up way more spots than the other two combined. The previous company did the work about a year and half ago, and the rats were back. They only guaranteed their work for 1 year. Ugg. Also, the degree to which the last company disinfected was much less complete. Yes, it may be more expensive, but I feel that I may actually be ahead of the rodents this time. Rodents Stop did an outstanding job of ridding our house of rodents. We have a tri=level with three separate attics. Rodents were evident in all three areas. They brought a crew in and quickly removed all the insulation from the attics, cleaned the entire area, and thoroughly sealed all possible entry points, including the garage and crawl space accesses under the house. The set traps in the attic, in the crawl space and in the garages. They checked the traps twice over the next two weeks. After no new evidence of rodents was found, they installed new roll insulation throughout the attics. Subsequently they have called to follow-up and insure that we have not found any evidence of a reinfestation. There business practices were above reproach. Zeev gave us an initial cost contract for removal of the insulation and cleanup. No payment was required until that job was completed, with the final payment made after the two week inspection. Then we contracted separately (using the original estimate) for reinsulating the attic. Payment was made (as agreed to) upon completion. No surprises during the entire processs. Upon our return from two weeks in Hawaii one December, we discovered that our home was inhabited by rats. We got bids from three companies. Said one, you have an old house and about all we can do is set some traps in the crawl space and come check them every month or when you smell something. $300 a month. WOW. We have had a rat problem off and on in our house since we purchased it 18 years ago. We have ongoing service with Terminix pests and rodents. Terminix always sets traps and then comes back to take the rats away when they're caught. A couple of times they have sent their rat abatement guys out who have kind of plugged up a hole or two in the roof or under the house but the problem has still persisted. UNTIL NOW. We found Rodents Stop via a google search after our garage suddenly became the new home for these rats. Until recently, they had mostly stayed out of the garage, but now the situation had became completely unacceptable. The workers work hard but they are way over priced for the service they provide. Watch Inspector Heather. She seems nice when you meet her. In the end she exaggerates the situation so she can make the sale. Then when the follow up doesn't happen the way she promises she lies and says she promised you something different. For example, she promised they would accept monthly payments and the next guy shows up and says, "didn't she tell you...we want all payments today with postdated checks." She promised they would return in 4-7 days instead it was 12 days. She claims driver was in an accident...but she has no credibility. You may want to record the conversation. We have no attic and they charged us as if they put all new insulation in anyway. We had two vents and I had to ask the worker to change them and we supplied the filters. We had two mice...in hindsight I wish we had gone with a less expensive and more honest company. Use them if situation is out of control and you have an infestation. They took great care to keep all the insulation separated from the rest of our home as they were pulling it out. They do NOT use poison which is GREAT since that impacts the whole ecosystem. Unfortunately, while they tout "removal" of dead rodents as one of their specialties, there was one dead something that they could never find. We had to go through an awful fly infestation until nature itself solved the problem. However, Rodents Stop came out several times to try and locate the dead mouse/rat. Super disappointed, annoyed and frustrated with Rodent Stop. They did a "bait & switch" come-on with me and were very reluctant to follow-through with initial promises they had made over the phone. They charged a lot for minimal service and then tried to convince me to pay a huge amount of money to do what a handyman can do for thousands less. Beware. I called them on a Saturday after reading the many positive Yelp reviews. To their credit, they scheduled a quick appointment. I had already gotten one previous estimate from another company so I had a general idea of which questions to ask. I knew that I would have to set traps and have the access areas sealed. The girl assured me that the technician would set traps & also prepare an estimate for the remaining work. She told me that I could consider the estimate and when the tech came to remove the traps, I could decide whether or not to have the larger work completed at that time. She told me that the trapping fee would include the removal of the traps & critters. I thought that what they charged for trapping was a lot & I questioned the charge asking what the difference was between me setting the traps or a company. She explained that some people don't like removing dead animals & that's the service that they provided. Made sense to me, since I don't want to deal with dead anything. Unlike the other company I consulted (Ronin), RodentStop would only come out once to set and remove the traps (Ronin offered multiple trap settings/removals for their 30-day guarantee). RodentStop were a little less expensive ($50) and since the girl told me there was a life-time guarantee on their other services and they could come in the next morning, I felt it was worth it to have them at least come out and set traps while I considered their more extensive abatement proposal. When the tech had finished setting the traps, I asked whether he had provided the company number to my tenants. The girl who i had spoken with the previous day, said that the tenants would have to call the city for trap/critter removal. When I reminded her that was not what she had promised, she got flustered & the manager took the phone and tried to convince me that removing the traps was not a big deal and that her company could not come out whenever a mice died. I explained that the reason I was upset was that I had hired the company because of the assurance that they would set--and--remove the traps. After an exhausting back and forth, she finally agreed to honor the request. Then I got the estimate for sealing the property. It was for an astounding $3500! even though the tech said that I didn't have an infestation. Essentially, all companies charge a lot to set traps, then you have to pay an additional fee to have the access points closed up (basic plastering & screening). The problem with RodentStop was that they promised one thing and delivered another. They also quoted a super-high estimate with dubious life-time guarantee assurances. I learned the hard-way. If you don't have a major infestation, then set & remove your own-traps (or call another company!) and then hire a reasonable handyman to do the rest of the work. read more

So far, so good! No sounds from the attic, and when they came back to check the traps (yes, they scheduled to come back to look) we took a look and the attic was super clean and there was no evidence of critters. The work around the perimeter of the house is great - nicely done! They even built and installed a new access door for the crawlspace, which works and looks a LOT better than the existing one. BTW: I initially thought that replacement of the insulation wasn't included with the price, because they left without replacing it. BUT when they came out to check the traps after a week, the service tech said they never replace the soiled insulation until after they've checked the traps a couple times to make sure there's no more infestation. Duh - that makes so much sense!! And, to be doubly sure, I texted the office and asked if they were going tor replace the insulation, and they said "YES", they replace whatever they remove. So I have to say that I'm very, very happy with the work they did; the fact that they did it neatly (my house had just been painted, and they were very careful not to dirty the new paint); they cleaned up after they were done; they respected the house and wore booties when they came in; the crew came on time and worked a loooong time, until the job was done; and they followed up with me (instead of waiting for ME to call THEM!) to check the traps. That's right, that's how it starts. We live in the SFV and know so many people are experiencing the same problem. I do not recommend this company to anyone. Not only did the company fail to take care of my rodent problem, but they actually charged me $285 and practically did very little in solving my problem, But the reason I am writing this review is because I find the people in this company insensitive and disrespectful. Few days ago, I called complained to the company, that I still have a rodent problem, and so they agreed to send someone to look at my property to check the rodent bates. The person who came to my property (while I was not home) told me that he sprayed rat replanted all around my property. I talked to him on the phone and than we hung up and that was that. But when I came home, I noticed that one out of two birds that I had in the cage outside were missing. My bird was not dead in the cage, it was missing all together. Now I live in a gated neighborhood and he was the only person that came in the 2 hours that I was not home. It is obvious to be suspicious of the pest control people that they may perhaps have accidentally killed my bird during the process of spraying my property. But when I called them to ask about my missing bird, not only did they deny it, but the person, who by the way claimed to own the company and who also refused to give me his name, became verbally abusive and started harassing me over the phone. His story changed a few times in regards to what happened to the bird. When I told him, that I was not interested to have anymore conversation with him, he became verbally abusive. He called my phone 8 times and 5 of which, I did not pick up. I have to say, wether or not they were involved in the disappearance of my bird at this point is not an issue. The issue is that not only did they not solve my rat problem, but that the person whom I spoke to harassed and threatened me. I cannot in all honesty recommend them. read more

SERVICES: Removed 35-year old insulation, closed holes/cracks leading into attic with wire and hard foam to prevent additional rodent infestation, sanitized the attic, followed-up to ensure that "no rodent was left behind", and installed new blown-in R-38 insulation. Process took three days...two days for attic cleaning and one day for installing the new insulation. OUTCOME: I called Rodents Stop and Heather scheduled us for a cost-free estimate. In talking with representatives of the company, I was never up-sold or had suggested more services than I wanted. Zeev arrived promptly for the estimate and we arrived at a cost for the services. Zeev gave us an adequate inspection (my thought at the time was that Zeev probably has seen "lots" of attics and the looking into the attic was just to ensure there were no surprises) and recommended a list of services. We choose to have the old insulation removed, plugging of holes, sanitizing, and install new R-38 insulation at a very good price compared to the two other bids we received for the project. This kind of work is not for the faint-hearted, and, while the cost may seem high to someone who hasn't worked in a cramped, dark and dirty attic in the heat and dealt with rodent contamination, the services and product we received from Rodents Stop was truly an excellent value. Nobody likes to pay for this kind of service ... but, at least, Rodents Stop made us feel like value was done for the money. Could a homeowner do this project by him/herself? Of course! And, I say go for it ... but then be prepared to call professionals within an hour of the beginning of the project. ;-) You'll be glad you did. The feeling that I have about this company is that from the owner to the guys who worked the attic, there is an expectation of getting the job done and getting the job done RIGHT. The members of the crew sent to work with us were extremely well-trained and understood what to do and what not to do (a concept that some contractors have trouble with). Each member of the crew had a job and worked very well together and worked together well in completing our project. After each day, the crew cleaned up and made certain that all details were complete and made sure to talk with me before departing. They were clear in making sure that I understood what the goal was for each day. In short, the crew exemplified efficiency and the phrase "working like clock-work" comes to mind. While the crew was a pleasure to have on our property, I do hope NOT to have to have them work here again ... in short, I'm hoping that the issue of rodents in the attic is solved. :-) The Rodents Stop "lifetime" warranty is certainly a back-up and I have absolutely no doubt that if the indoor rodent problem on our property is not fixed they will come back as promised. A company is more than the owner and the guys in the trenches. A pivotal part of making a major project succeed--as ours did--is in the scheduling, billing and follow-up. Heather was an exceptional contact in the office and her cheerfulness (and I mean CHEERY!) was always in evidence even when I presented a scheduling problem for her to solve. Everything (and, once again, EVERYTHING!) that was needed as back-up, billing and follow-through was done exceptionally well by Heather. Thank you, Heather! :-) This is a good company. Five stars because they actually got rid of the rats that three previous companies had failed. Not cheap but worth the peace of mind. They also came when they said they would and didn't leave me waiting for hours as most service companies usually do. Highly recommended. read more
