This review is overdue. We live in the canyon and have always had problems w/ rats. You either do it ALL in a major lockdown and get it right, or you chase it constantly. We met numerous rat specialists and knew this would be a large investment and needed to get it right. These guys did an UNBELIEVABLE job!! Truly. Not a small home either. They enclosed my property like Fort Knox. The underneath of the house, the attic, the pool shed, the garage, the garbage shed and every tiny hole you can imagine. They do it mess around! ALL my attic insulation AND air ducts were removed/ replaced as once they have any rat infestation it's very toxic and you can't close/ fix one area without the other. After reading the reviews, I couldn't believe this company could be that good, but they are and then some! After mistakenly leaving my back door open for some time, I saw droppings upstairs and freaked out.I was sure I had critters galore. So glad I shopped around and used these people. I had an EXTREME rat infestation in my attic that crossed over to my house. They damaged furniture, rugs, books, storage boxes etc. And our attic practically looked like a disaster zone. I interviewed several companies. Some charged too little with hardly any service. Another wanted to charge $10k which gave me a coronary. This company provided high end comprehensive service for 1/2 that. I was a little apprehensive, had to do with the type of contractors license they had, but the owner came to my house and assured me of the quality of their work, showed me pics of all their work and I knew their yelp reviews were all good. They had an army of workers come over and the owner even came to make sure I was happy. The promised follow up visits were plentiful and they cheerfully covered any areas with mesh fencing I wanted no matter how small. They were very diligent with follow up phone calls for each step. The attic re-insulation was of a much better quality than their competitors, using blankets of thick insulation instead of the blown Styrofoam type. We still had one stubborn "super" rat in the house that knew how to avoid all the traps and would not leave Rodent Masters took this very seriously and sent over their "rat expert" who knew how to ultimately catch him. It's been 5 months since our service and no sign of any rodents, and even if there were I know this company will honor their guarantee. I highly recommend Rodent Masters, a local small business that gets a difficult job done. We found out I had roof rats in my attic and infestation in the crawlspace..  I could hear animal noises coming from above every night, making it very hard to get any sleep.  We Called Rodent Masters last Friday, Max came by to check the house, he showed us how bad it was. I got in my car one day and it wouldn't start. It had to be towed to the dealer and they found that rats had set up shop and ate my wires. That night my husband saw 2 run by the bushes next to the house by where I park my car and then we saw a few on the wall by our pool. Yuck. I read the reviews and called Rodent Masters. This is a great company from stem to stern. I'm just going to lay out the facts, you decide. Showed up right on time, looked at our problem, determined it was one mouse, refused to charge and suggested Victor Power Kill traps (said he'd have left one if he hadn't just run out!). Checked the roof and the attic as well, charged nothing. I asked "are you sure you don't want to charge for a service call?" and he repeated that, no, he didn't feel like we'd received any extermination services, just pass along our experience and that'd be fine. There were no signs of mouse entry or mouse poop on the roof or in the attic, so that was that. I set out the traps as instructed and in the morning our mouse was no more. No problems since. Needless to say if this had been a plumber or electrician we'd have written a check for $125+. After years of setting traps in the attic we finally decided on the inevitable and called the pros. In the course of getting estimates we also decided it was high time to clean out the attic which was a horrific mess of old roofing debris, ancient loose insulation, chewed air ducts and of course rat mess. We liked Rodent Masters' estimate which included sealing entry points in the entire house, attic cleaning, new air ducts and new rolled insulation. They did an incredibly thorough job and were careful to set up protective materials in the house to protect surfaces and reduce dust. Update: This is a company I have such high regard for! I thought I had heard visitors in my attic again and called for a return visit. Great company! I recommend this company without any reservations!! A few days ago my daughter and wife stormed into my office room screaming and yelling... they saw a mouse in the kitchen. I called Rodent Masters and was told that Max would stop by same day (yes, same day) between 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM. By the way, Rodent Masters does NOT charge for inspection. Around 1:40 PM i received a phone call from Max saying that he is in the neighborhood and he could stop by. Max came in and inspected the kitchen, an attic and my patio. He couldn't find any traces of infestation although he has shown me several holes from which rodents could access my house. Since I just recently completed an Attic Insulation almost 90% of all the holes were sealed. Max recommended to take care of the remaining holes myself if I wanted to save the money. He even gave me a metal mesh to cover the holes and didn't charge me a penny!! Max gave me several great tips and even showed me all the holes in my house that I had to seal! This is a second review i'm writing for Rodent Masters. I mean these guys are going out of their way to provide great service for their clients!!! Here is one example. In the beginning of July, about a month and a half after the full service on our attic we had a huge fly infestation in the master bathroom, started with a few flies but in a few days we had about 40-50 flies at any given moment. We e-mailed Jay to schedule a follow up appointment. The very next day Max and crew showed up and spend a few hours inspecting the attic only to find out that it was clean and had no dead rodents and no other sources where flies may come from. So they did a search outside the house and found the dead decaying rat inside the dog house under the pillow our dog sleeps on!!!! The dog house is located right outside of our master bathroom so flies ware getting inside through the small ventilation window close to dog house. We didn't notice the smell of dead rat because all the windows ware closed with A/C working inside plus we don't go to aria where the dog house is very often. Having grown tired of trapping the rats and mice that get into my attic and crawlspace, I looked for a sustainable solution. Rodent Masters basically provided it. Instead of paying an exterminator every month to trap and remove the deceased, I paid these guys once to keep the pests out. They send an awesome crew wrapped-up in hazmat suits to remove the trash and old insulation from the attic and crawlspace, vacuum it with a machine the size of an SUV, and then seal all of the cracks and open areas around vents and pipes, using heavy-duty mesh, structural foam and putty. They even built an entire new rodent-proof access door for my crawlspace. Then they set traps for 3-4 weeks, checking them weekly. If there are no visitors during that time, they come back and install new R-38 insulation and you are done. It's more money up front, but over time it's a smart investment. Vermin carry diseases I don't want to catch, and having their dead carcasses around is just plain nasty, even for a few days. I highly recommend these guys. read more

I wish every company was as honest as Rodent Masters. We were told by an air conditioning company that rats may have eaten through our wires in the attic, so I had a company come out for an inspection. They said we were infested with nests and needed to tear out all of our attic insulation, even the newer stuff, completely sanitize and seal the house at a cost of originally $7,000. He was willing to cut it down to $4,500. I did research and saw that to do all of that was around that price for our sized home, but I wanted another opinion. So I called Rodent Masters because of their great reviews. Max came out to do the inspection and told me that we were not infested, there were no nests, just some old droppings and that the rats were coming in and out. We didn't need the extreme measure of ripping everything out, just needed to seal the whole house, clean, and trap any rats that may still be inside. $1,600 is a big difference from $4,500. They did the job very quickly and then came back for follow ups for weeks afterwards to check the traps and attic. There never were any new droppings or dead rats. This company is a life saver! I recently completed renovating an old home in the Hollywood Hills and was not expecting all the new "house mates" that my wife and I discovered after moving in. I live in the Hollywood Hills and get rat problems about every 3 years. I used to trap them myself, but after the latest rat problem, maybe I should call some pros. I interviewed 4 different companies and Rodent Masters was the best. The kicker is that the rats were coming in from the kitchen, and the other companies would not pull out the dishwasher and other appliances to get to the openings.
