Plenty of food - we split a mushroom sandwich and the chicken fried rice.
Mehreen K.

I have been reading about this place on my Next Door app and had to check out the place after so many rave reviews. Stuck on a parking lot off Highway 99 the red truck is hard to miss. I have never had Peruvian food before and was excited to give it a try. We had to wait a bit since there were a few people before us . There is ample parking and some picnic benches set up with a fruit and flower stand in the corner. We were given a pager when our food would be ready. So we brought some strawberries and peonies and waited. The food is fresh and tasty. There were some Asian and Italian fusion dishes as well. We opted to split a mushroom sandwich and the chicken fried rice. The only disappointment was they were completely out of empanadas and all the desserts. Will go back to try those items, but will get their early. The chef takes great pride in his work and is very personable.

Pan con Chicharron Sandwich

As they sat down south "Si Si Si Si Si!!!!" I live pretty close and have passed by a lot. Finally I get my chance to try. I love that I can park right by it and stay in the car after I order. They were out of empanadas. He said why but my sorrow was blocking my ears. So I settled for the Pan con chicharron. Oh boy. Think of the greatest banh mi you've ever had with triple the meat. I actually don't like raw onions and I don't care much for sweet potatoes (like I said I was bummed about the empanadas) but the combination is perfect! Sweet salty tangy. So much good stuff. Little crispies from the pork make it all the better. The bread is a little bit dry so it's not a pretty sandwich to eat. Definitely a take home item. The chimichurri fries were awesome. I love how each fry has a uniform coating of seasoning. The only thing is no human or two humans or even three humans could finish an order. I'll definitely be back.

Our first stop at Portland and this food truck caught my eyes! We ordered Lomo Saltado, mushroom Saltado sandwich, and chimichurri fries. Food were extremely good and authentic. The sauce is perfect to dip both main dishes and fries in. There is parking space and outdoor sitting area as well.

I have been told for long time how extraordinary this food was and when I pulled into the lot I smelled amazing flavors in the air. I asked "what do you recommend?" And I can say The food is outstanding! The sauce was to die for, I could have eaten more! Yes!!! Try this, excellent fresh food!

11am on a weekday already a cars coming in and waiting, You know something is up! Browsing on Instagram and found this food truck as well as seeing it a few times. I decided on some empanadas and was in luck as the owner put a few in the oven to cook, before making more. They only had the creole ones so far and got a couple of those. I was told while waiting that they supply to restaurants and make them from scratch and fresh daily so they take time. I was greeted right away and helped as well as things were getting set up. There is a small sign for customers to wear a mask and hand sanitizer provided. The staff is wearing masks as well. I really like that they give you a buzzer to wait in your car and then pick up your entree when it vibrates. Helps with not only social distancing and limiting capacity but convenience and organization too. The creole empanadas were hot and warm. They were filled quite well and real pieces of garlic with the sirloin. Spices weren't overpowering and the sauce was a nice accompaniment. Not too spicy or mild, it was great to eat a couple bites with the sauce and then plain too (both ways are good). The dough was flaky but not crumbly as everything stayed intact and no leakage, a really great texture and softness before getting the meat and spices. I'll have to come back to try the main entrees and desserts later on in the day too. Handmade fresh

The empanadas sell out fast, so if you want one hot and fresh be there as soon as they open, they do get busy; but they hand out pagers so you can stroll the Mercado while you wait. We ended up finding a great smoothie to accompany our meal in the main building that was amazing. Has plenty of seating but be prepared to share a bench. Market inside has some amazing guacamole btw

So excited about this place! Owner / chef Nelson makes everything: the mayo, the hot sauce, the bread! I got the chicharrones sandwich, bursting with tender succulent pork (not for the fat-averse! This is made from a fatty cut.) Also a beef empanada (delish) and a passion fruit juice, as good as any I've ever had, not too sweet. Word is the empanadas sell fast. They were just coming out of the oven around 11:15, 11:30 when I was there. Also vegetarian & vegan friendly, with a vegan empanada & a mushroom-based sandwich. Classic dishes like Lomo Saltado and Tallarin Saltado are on the menu too -- they both have asian roots, reflecting the multi culti deliciousness of Peruvian cuisine. Gonna try them next! These delicacies are made to order, people! My food came out pretty quickly, but it is not instantaneous. However, SO worth the wait. It's really high caliber food at food cart prices, so CHECK IT OUT! YUM!

I'm so lucky to come across with Rocoto Peruvian Kitchen while visiting Oregon for the first time. This place deserves to keep 5 stars! This is the first place I have came to the same food truck/restaurant for the second time, as a San Franciscan foodie, this place is top notch and you won't find his food anywhere else, I made sure to come back and get his chicharrón sandwich before leaving from Oregon. You can tell how every appetizer and entry meals are made carefully with love, the lomo saltado and the chicharrón melts in your mouth as well as his alfajores cookies, everything is made by the owner. I will recommend you to drink his natural drinks, sadly when I came he didn't have chicha but I will make sure to give it a try when I come back since you can only try this type of drink in South America. I'm sure this place will innovate and expand in the near future, you can smell, taste and see his passion and love in his food. I hope I can see his business around in San Francisco. The owner is the only one working in this place, I admire his hustle and his multitasking skills.

Lomo Saltado

This place lived up to the reviews. They had sold out of the empanadas but having had the Lomo Saltado and Tallarin Saltado, We will be back! My steak could have been slightly less well done but I'm not taking away stars for it. The flavor profile was phenomenal.. both spicy (but not too) and full of flavor. Their salsa was also super enjoyable. It has a slow burn that sneaks up on you but unlike traditional salsas, less jalapeño and more unique peppers that I've never tasted before. You taste the peppers and spices before the slow burn hits which we all really enjoyed. It tasted fresh, unique, and delicious! Love!

Are they still open? Whenever we drive by, it's never open anymore.

Hasn't been open for a long time now. The truck is still there, though.

We enjoyed the food on Puerto Rico on our cruise so this was a treat. The restaurant was vibrant with island decor and family photos on the walls. My wife ordered a Mojito and I had a Rum and Coke. The mojito was underwhelming and was missing flavor. On to the food..... I ordered the Mofongo with pork and my wife had the garlic chicken. My meal was moist and tasty along with being filling. The garlic chicken was pounded thin and overcooked, very dry and hard to eat. The accompanying beans, rice and salad were very good. I mentioned the quality or lack of to the waiter (I think was the owner) and he questioned me like I was wrong. No apologies given. I didn't ask for a discount and wasn't given one. All I would have liked was an acknowledgement. We won't be back especially with a food truck park within a quarter mile away with almost 30 assorted trucks.

We ordered the Tenderized Steak Marinated in a Garlicy Vinegar sauce, the Mofongo with roasted pork, and empanadas to share. The standout dish for me was the Mofongo. It was a unique dish that I hadn't tried before. It came in like one of the mortar shaped bowls with like smashed plantains and the slow roasted pork in the middle. It was pretty good. The Marinated Steak was decent and had a good flavor to it, but the Mofongo would be my recommendation.
