OG Taquitos
Erik C.

Gave this place a try on our way home from Hagg Lake. Got the OG taquitos and the Birria. Overall the food was good, taquitos were flavorful and the dipping sauce was delicious. Only negative was the beans on the Birria were a little charred in spots and tasted a bit off.

Pretty good flavor of the meat! Not the best birra tacos I've had, those were in Seattle, but decent. I wouldn't say the four tacos alone are filling enough either, I ended up going back for rice and beans. The downsides are that this is pricy for a food cart. 2 meals of 4 tacos was 30$ and it had no sides. At least include beans and rice. With little overhead, food trucks are usually a better deal than a sit down place due to the lack of ambiance. Another note, there's no recycling, and everything is styrofoam. I get it's cheap but we're beyond that stage in the PNW. At least use paper.

It's the red taco truck around the corner. It stands out more than the grocery store that's on the same block. Once you see it, you'll likely be in line trying the place, lol. I'm a fan of this birria truck, but it can be a bit pricey depending on what you get. Here's what I've tried so far: ~ Taco Dorado ($2.50 each) and that consomé for dipping: I guess this is what they're known for, and I gotta say their tacos are pretty darn crispy meaty good! And that luscious dipping broth added back that extra juiciness. ~ Three Rolled Taquitos plate ($15): These were topped with lettuce, red onion, sour cream, and cilantro. I liked it, but I'll be honest, I should've chosen a burrito instead. More bang for your buck with a burrito. ~ Birria Ramen ($10): Now this was something different, and something I dig. Don't expect firm Japanese noodles, but DO expect the bowl to be packed with a lot of birria meat on top. I'll just say, I ate all the noodles and made myself some birria quesadillas at home with the extra meat. ~ Gorditas De Birria ($6 each): Pictured on the menu board are three gorditas. I didn't ask and ordered what I saw. Little did I realize, I just paid $18 for them. And for some reason, they took a while to make. I picked it up, and it was hot, but just wasn't anything special to me. Again, that elusive burrito was just taunting me. Even my yelp bud Andrew H ate his burrito in front of my dinky gorditas. ~ Michelada De Modelo ($10): All that's missing with this refreshing drink was a frosty mug. Salud! Regarding service and outdoor dining, the guy at the register was cool, so no issue with service. You order and wait for your pager to buzz. They also provide a small seating/patio area next to it. I believe they share it with other carts. So, will I be back a fourth time? Odds are, I will. But maybe in a few months. After coming here with friends and coworkers, I gotta try a burrito for once lol. AND I gotta try that Birria Pizza! Oh baby, check out the pics of that!

One of the best Mexican food trucks, had to be stationed in Hillsboro. Birria, which is slowly-cooked meat in plenty of spices, served on hard and soft corn tortillas make the majority of the menu. We've been there a few times and my favorite so far is the "Vampire", which is on a hard tortilla with cheese. And of course any of these are recommended with the Consommé (Hot and spicy broth). Service by the team is excellent but it takes a while to get the food, a very long time. Plan for that. There are about 5 tables for 4 people where one can seat outdoors with a roof. We've never been when it's raining or too cold, but they also take orders to go.

Tacos were bomb! Sauces were delicious. I'd skip the rice and beans next time though. Guy who took my order was super friendly and helped me decide. The covered outdoor seating next to the food truck is a nice touch if you wanna eat there. Would definitely come here if I wanted birria again.

My guy, and I have been talking about birria pizza, we just were not sure where to get it. He happened to drive by while working, and picked up a birria pizza. We eat birria taco's quite a bit, so when he came across this place it was really cool to have more of a variety. This place did not disappoint. I admittedly ate what he brought home, while he had it while it was fresh there. I heated it in the air fryer. It was still really delicious, and can't wait to go eat some taco's. The consume is full of flavor, and really adds to it. We were also really impressed with the amount of meat you get for the price. This place really is the "OG"!

Taco Plate (4) tacos and consommé dipping sauce

We made the trek into town just to try these tacos. I haven't had quesabirria tacos in years! We ordered the taco plate that included 4 tacos and a cup of consommé. These were so good! It's sometimes difficult to order these and not have them served soggy, these were warm, crunchy and amazingly melty with cheese. The salsas and consommé were very good as well! The order included a green salsa, a red salsa, onions, cilantro and a couple of limes. Everything you need to make these over the top yummy! We also ordered a barria quesadilla and flavored waters. Everything we tried was top notch tasty! The server at the window was super friendly and helpful. She made a couple of recommendations to help us find what we wanted. Even though there were a few people waiting for their order and a few people in line behind us she wasn't stressed, in a hurry, or trying to rush us along. Above and beyond 5 star service! After about a 10-15 minute wait we had our treasures in hand and were happily snarfling it all down. They do have a nice outdoor seating area available with tables and chairs. Bundle up and have a seat if you don't want to eat in your car or wait to get home. This was definitely worth our drive and we'll be back for more when we're passing through the area.

Best birria I had ever tried. Came here after I saw this place just driving by.Staff was friendly. Coming from Cali its hard to find legit Mexican food. I'm glad I stopped to tried this place out. It was a bit of a wait, I ordered 1 OG plate and the one with rice and beans and birria burrito, waited for like 30mins. Staff was super busy, so I understood they might of been understaffed. The food though was delicious, I'm more of a quesabirria type of person but those birria tacos with the crunchy tortilla was almost the same thing with the consome on the side, was legit the best I ever had. Kudos to this place, will be back.

Hillsboro is ground zero for really good Mexican food so just being good is no small feat. This…read moreplace has been here for a long time and I've eaten here now and then. They never disappoint. Very authentic Mexican, ample portions at fair prices. This restaurant is more informal than most and is more of a fast food place. Totally fine with me. You order at the counter, get your own chips and salsa and they bring the food to you. They do a brisk business but if you have limited time for lunch this place is perfect. They will get you in and out fast.

And I've had my fair share of bad ones in the area. Not as great a folks advertise it to be. However when I first stepped foot on Ochoas' greasy floors, I knew this place would be exceptionally legit! Here's what I've tried and here's what I dig about Ochoas: ~ Their variety of Combos (about $12-14). I've done their tacos enchiladas, and chicken fajitas type of combos and man they've been belly filling silly! So stuffed, so good! SO worth it! I would reduce a star due to tortillas being sold separately, but I didn't mind not having tortilla. ~ Two recommended plates, the Tacos Dorados ($14) and the Enchiladas Suisa ($16) man'o'man are these plates are dope! I usually get them filled with chorizo, but I say get them with campechano (asada and chorizo). Super flavorful! I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. Their lengua and pastor are also tasty! ~ My favorites are actually their breakfast burritos. Chorizo is chorizo, but their Combo breakfast burrito ($9.50) is filled with sausage, ham, cheese, and stuffed with eggs they're not shiesty about adding. Can't go wrong with their breakfast burritos! ~ I'll be honest here, I wasn't really a fan of their tamales. They look good, but I've had better. Not enough to reduce a star either. ~ Legit "Salsa Bar" that usually has six different types. Loved a lot of them too! But really it depends on what salsa goes with what. ~ Another bonus, they've got a catering booth at the Orenco Station Farmer's Market! As far as dining-in, it's nothing fancy. Clean enough to eat there even though I mentioned the floor condition earlier lol. Had to tell them to kick on the heater when it was cold too. Regarding service, I've have to turn up my broken Spanish, but for the most part they've been patient enough to take my order with ease. No issues with service. Again it confirms the legitimacy. That's all I've got to say, and to me they're "one of the best for Mexican food in Hillsboro". I don't care about the negative reviews and what others may think. I say, if you're hesitant like I was, give them a try them and compare for yourself. If you've got a place that's better, let me know.
