X-cellent chocolate & X-cellent service! The owner of this 1997 franchise is Bryan, whom I accidentally captured in one of my shots-- my apologies, Sir. (He'd prefer not to be photographed.) I was dragged into this sweet shoppe, but ended up leaving w/ close to $23 in creamy creations-- just before returning to spend an additional $9. (Almost two weeks later I returned to the area again & stopped in-- spending $74. The quality & taste are addictive!) Some background trivia: The original Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory opened in Durango, Colorado in 1981. Currently, the franchise can be found in four countries & the Arab Emirates. 40 varities of ice-cream are made. Locations today offer vegan dark chocolate & vegan fudge, & a gluten-free milk chocolate truffle. I absolutely loved everything I brought home! The $3.50 milk & white chocolate-covered strawberries were OUT OF THIS WORLD. I shared mine after buying 4. (They were buy 3, get one free.) The berries were large & sweet. The chocolate was INCREDIBLE! The Tiger Butter Apple (see pic) was beautiful & delectable, although I've been very good & enjoyed just one bite. But the biggest surprise was the fudge. I can honestly say I've NEVER loved any fudge that I've bought @ a candy shoppe--- never. Until NOW! The Chocolate Pecan fudge was not soft like all previous fudge; rather, the texture was semi-soft -- just pure confectionary PERFECTION! It was slightly grainy, the way my self-taught chocolatier grandfather (1901) perfected fudge. And the rich chocolate combined w/ pecans was melt-in-your-mouth heavenly-- although it's my mouth & I ain't sharing:) Seriously, this chocolate shoppe sells some SERIOUSLY GOOD chocolate! The variety of confections offered is EXTENSIVE-- see pics! There were chocolate-covered fruits; chocolate bark; chocolate marshmallow; truffles & sugar-free truffles; fudge; Divinity; cake pops; pecan pralines; white, milk, & dark chocolates; cookies & chocolate-covered cookies; chocolate pretzels; chocolate Rice Krispy squares; cocolate-covered toffees; toffee & chocolate popcorn; chocolate-covered coffee beans; chocolate Graham crackers; chocolate covered nuts; & chocolate-covered bananas, etc...just a MULTITUDE of varieties to suit EVERY palette. The many different chocolate covered apples & the beauty of each creation had my head spinning (& my mouth watering)! That is why I returned. The shoppe was spotless. The moment too many customers entered, owner Bryan summoned extra help from the back. He was so outwardly thankful to those patronizing his establishment. We spoke briefly & he continued to thank me for stopping in. He mentioned how difficult it's been the last few months, & that business friends of his had watched as their small businesses went under. I do not suggest you venture out to try Bryan's chocolate culinary creations because he's had a rough few months. I am STRONGLY suggesting you drop in-- but only if you LOVE fine chocolate. I'm telling you-- we bought some DELICIOUS chocolate today. It wasn't cheap, but it was WELL WORTH THE PRICE! Thank you, Bryan.

While trying to kill some time before a reservation at another location in the mall we spotted this gem! My best friend and I instantly felt welcomed when we walked through the entrance! That sweet smell, you could smell a mile away.. mouth watering chocolate! It was hard to not want to buy one of everything. We ordered dark chocolate covered pretzels, dark chocolate sea salt caramel chocolates, & lavender vanilla cream chocolates. My all time favorite was the lavender vanilla cream chocolate, very subtle lavender flavor & ohhh so good! Employees were friendly, inviting (offered us free samples), and very attentive! Such a neat spot w/ some pretty sweet treats.

My boyfriend took a bite and said "this is vegan??" Unreal. Cake was moist and flavorful, the frosting was sweet and thick, sooo good! Vegan dessert is not very easy to get right, but this definitely was a hit! The people working were also so kind and helpful, smiling and laughing along with me. Such a great experience!

I ordered two glasses of Prosecco and she informs me that they are out of Prosecco. What!? I then order a can of IPA and a glass of white wine for my gf, which took way too long to get. Plus my beer wasn't even that cold and her wine wasn't good either. I asked about the cheese tray + wine and she looked confused. I asked her what cheeses came on it and she said she didn't know, but she'd find out, but never did. lol. I came here prepared to buy a bottle of Prosecco and a cheese tray to sit outside and enjoy with my gf but that didn't happen. If you are working at a place you should know the couple things that you do serve and know them very well. There also wasn't any clean glasses for the spa water. The deserts did look good but god forbid I asked either of them a question about them because they would have looked at me befuddled. I highly doubt I'll ever come back here again. Good luck with your questions and selections.

Walking in the staff was very friendly and told my party that we could each try a couple of different pieces of Laffy Taffy figure out what we like the most! I decided to try the eggnog flavor and it was very nice! After trying a sample I decided to get a handful of different flavors and nibbled them while I walked on St George street. The Candy Corn Taffy was decent, but it did not have that much flavor in my opinion. The consistency of it was very tasty however so I was glad to try it. I also got one that was pickle flavored and this one was absolutely flavorless so I was a little upset about that. Another one that I got was beer flavored and you could taste it with just the right amount of flavoring. The prices are very decent and charging by the weight, you can get a nice amount in your bag without breaking the bank. The place was very nicely lit and super clean and I loved how one of the walls, in its entirety, was filled with easily over 50 different flavors of saltwater taffy! I felt like a true kid in a candy store!

"First Coast" food - 2 of 2…read more Ok, so this is food ... and it isn't. I didn't know where to eat in charming St. Augustine, Florida - America's oldest settlement - and would wait to return to Jacksonville to figure out where I'd then have dinner. I stumbled into Claude's Chocolate admiring the historic Alcazar Hotel which now houses city hall, a museum, and then some. As such, a dessert from practically adjacent Claude's would serve as lunch. Saying "old world European" may sound trite, but it's applicable here where the endeavor has a craftsman-like dedication, be it in the hand made ice cream/gelato, the chocolates and candies they select, and the tidiness of their small store. They do have enough space, though, for people to eat in and it was nice and cool inside. I had two ice cream flavors side by side - strawberry cheesecake and Belgium chocolate. This ice cream "lunch" was delicious and I savored the taste slowly as I sat inside but looked outside the storefront windows toward the Alcazar and its landscaped square. I was treated politely and with patience as I chose what I wanted from the glass case. I also purchased a small quantity of candy for the road. Claude's Chocolate is not a chain chocolate or ice cream store. This is sort of a boutique for fine chocolates and higher quality desserts and sweet treats. The prices are a little bit higher, but you get what you pay for.
