What an unexpectedly fun place! The soda and candy selection is excellent here. They also carry novelties such as bacon products and vintage signs and posters. However, the prices are equally out of this world. I'd still recommend stopping in for a visit just for the experience, even if you can't get past the prices. Wow. This place is pretty awesome! They have such a wide variety of inventory you need to spend some time in here checking it all out. I can't even begin to imagine what some of those sodas taste like! Staff was so super friendly, upbeat and fun that the feeling seemed contagious to everyone who was walking in the store. There is so much to choose from that I was way overwhelmed but did manage to make a few purchases. I want to come back and try out some of the sodas but we were on our way to dinner and I didn't think I'd have time to enjoy any of them on my 30 second walk to Cap Grille. My one beef about this place? The candy is overpriced...While some of the candy deserves (?) to be since it's not from around here other things (like an airhead) are too expensive. I'll be back because it's way to intriguing not to come in again and try things that I haven't seen before or that I haven't eaten in ages. Love this place! My husband drinks Moscow Mules and it can be so hard to find good Ginger Beer, but Rocket Fizz has a huge selection! They have so many different types, and flavors of soda, Faygo, Red Cream, etc. If you love salt water taffy, they have every flavor you could ever imagine, and they have them in sugar free too! The people are really helpful, and they will help you create the perfect gift basket for anyone on your list. Super fun. Candy by the bag or ten cents each. Inflatable beard and mustaches! Yay! Every kind of taffy your heart desires, and other fun things. Also, any kind of soda! Pricey, but fun. We always have to visit Rocket Fizz whenever we are in downtown. I love seeing the different candies that they have. It's fun to see "asian snacks" that are hard to find in Denver. Oh man! Words can't even begin to describe the hearts in my eyes when I walked in. I LOVE CANDY! Downside, I gave up candy for a month. My slightly somewhat masochistic characteristic in my personality forced me to go inside to see everything that I couldn't have. LOL! Walking around Denver, we walked past Rocket Fizz. My friend was trying to get me to walk past it, knowing my agreement w| myself. Well, we walked by & I couldn't stop thinking about it. We went to Tom's Urban across the street for a drink (review to follow this one). Sitting on the patio, I nearly burned a hole into the foundation of Rocket Fizz while sipping champagne & apple juice. I asked to go inside after we were done & was given permission. LOL HEAVEN IN DENVER! Pop Rocks, salt water taffy in about a hundred thousand trillion flavors, peanut butter cups in flavors I have never seen before, Nerds, almost every flavor of Bubblicious (which I did buy bc that isn't candy), asian goodness like Pocky's (I didn't see green tea Kit Kats tho), Razzles, & about a million different sodas. It wasn't like a lot of other candy stores that I am used to where you can get a bag & measure your gummy candies, sour candies, chocolates or whatever by the pound. What a fun shop! I love going to Rocket Fizz when I am downtown. They have a very generous selection of sodas which is great because I am a root beer connoisseur and they have plenty to choose from. They have many different hard-to-find and everyday candies and plenty of fun toys and knick knacks. I like the cardboard stand-ups they have and dream of taking home one of their displays. Rocket Fizz is usually my go-to for sodas, so that's why I'm giving 2 stars. I drove over 30 mins to your location and got there at 9:49, only for it to be locked and closed. Checked the sign and it said closed at 10pm for tonight. Saw a employee counting cash w the lights off. We tap on the door window, only to get him shaking his head, telling us that they closed early due to being slow. If your sign says open til 10pm, you should stay open regardless of how busy it is. Rocket Fizz is sort of like a love child of Dylan's Candy Bar and an old western dime store candy shop. They have barrels of candy from seemingly every era when candy was made. But wait, there's more! They have an amazing selection of sodas. Sweet Baby Jesus, they carry Dr. Brown's and Virgil's, two of my favorites. The store layout is attractive, but i had a hard time figuring out how it was organized. By type? Flavor? I have no idea, but I managed to find my way around just fine and ended up with a nice heavy bag to take home. My husband, shameless man that he is, actually brought his Virgil's into Capital Grill and proceeded to drink it at the table with his meal. I'm not sure I would make the trek downtown specifically to go to Rocket Fizz, but I'm sure glad I checked it out and will definitely take home a few 4-packs of my favorites next time I'm in the area. read more

Went in with my husband knowing exactly what I wanted: Slap Stix caramel suckers. The two young men behind the counter were very welcoming and nice to us which is unusual considering how crowded the store was. They showed me where to find the items. I grabbed a few suckers and some sour gum and paid. A few hours later, when I opened one of the suckers, I noticed it was crumbly. Caramel is not supposed to crumble. The sucker was clearly old and not fresh. The 2nd one was a little better but still old. At these prices they should make sure their inventory is fresh. ** Buyers, closely inspect your items before you leave the store to make sure it is not old and inedible. read more

The candy is great and the selection of soda unmatched anywhere. Their merchandise is pricey - but for a special occasion it's well worth it. Still, I value customer service as much as I do product. I went in on Friday afternoon, 2 female employees were on duty. They stood behind the counter and chatted endlessly while I and 5 other customers made our purchases. The discussion did not end even when I came to the counter with a paltry $30 worth of candy. The employee who waited on me did not address me once, not to ask me if I found everything I was looking for, say hello, how are you., or anything else. Their credit card merchant apparently ran purchases and then ran them again this week. Basically, I paid for candy back in October in the amount of about $30 and then their merchant ran that purchase again this week for the same amount. I was livid! I know I will no longer shop there if they are using the cheapest merchant possible (and obviously a sketchy one, at that). So disappointing. This store literally has EVERYTHING pop and candy-related! My friend and I stopped by the storefront in Boulder a few days prior, but preferred the Larimer Square location because they sell taffy by the piece (15 cents per), which was preferable because we couldn't commit to an entire bag. Flavors range from basics like cookies & cream, mint, and fruit to more daring ones like chicken & waffles! Each piece magically tastes true to its name, wish I'd grabbed more! This is the most amazing candy shop... EVER! They have all the candy from pretty much every decade, and my favorite, hard-to-find candy- Big Hunk! They really do have everything. They also tons of different kinds of sodas, "life-size" cardboard cutouts of various celebs (today included Justin Bieber, Clint Eastwood, and Zach Galifainakis without any pants), and all these awesome vintage tin (or aluminium?) signs. Of all the candy stores I've visited (more that I'd like to admit), this one has the largest selection of Taffy Town saltwater taffy I've ever seen. Absolutely incredible. This place also has an awesome collection of international candies, and some interesting variations of popular grocery store options that you normally down see. White chocolate kit kats for the win.
