Hello sugary flashbacks!! I was immediately transferred back to the 80s... when I was all hopped up on candy cigarettes, pop rocks, cigar shaped bubble gum sticks & fun dips. It's not all about the candy either. I found Garbage Pail Kids trading cards. YES! The cards I used to collect and giggle at as my mom tried not to barf just by looking at them. I also scored an authentic in the box 1970s slinky. Besides the vintage toys and candy, there are other great finds like jewelry, wallets and cute bags! Whimsical delights!!!! This is one super fun awesome place. A giant reminder of every toy you loved as a child, but kinda forgot about. We played with the Fisher Price airplane and airport set outside the shop and then we went inside. Holy tons of fun...a tiny place filled with more vintage and current toys of various sorts. My eyes fell to the many cool Star Wars Pez and others fun things PLUS lots of delicious candy suitable for anyone's discerning palette. We chatted with the owner about our terrible dinner choice and then bought $20 some odd dollars filled with some of the best candy. Can't wait to go back!! read more

Great store for adults and kids. So many candies and sodas to be nostalgic about or to have your kids discover. Can say enough about it and it's location is very convenient. Right in the middle of Louisville. Public library, restaurants, etc. Right smack in the middle. The owner is extremely friendly, so make sure you talk to him about the business and if there's anything missing, he may have it in back (asked for Goo-Goo Clusters and he had them in back... This is a fantastic place. It is part-candy shop, part museum. You will find things here from your childhood that you may have forgotten (Fruit Stripe, red cream soda, Freshen Up gum). There is also a very small selection of vintage toys for sale. The owner is extremely friendly. He even let me take his mid-1970's Evel Knievel motorcycle out onto the sidewalk and let him fly! Amazing! Stopped by after lunch just to "look". New owner is delightful and helpful in getting me my candy fix. She carries many of the classics (jaw busters are my favorite and hard to find). If you haven't been to this gem of a store... you need to dash to Louisville lickety split! The store stocks a wide range of vintage candy, novelty candy, and my personal favorite... the Asian candy I grew up with (think Boton, Hi Chew, etc). You'll also find a variety of toys, speciality sodas, cupcakes, t-shirts and other fun knick knacks. The owner is clearly passionate about his store and it shows. I mentioned my company was participating in Movember (a mustache growing fundraiser) and the owner gave me a free fun bendy mustache. What a swell guy. Horrible customer service!!! The man behind the counter (owner?) was very rude to my family because my 17 month old accidentally dropped a lollipop on the ground. We were going to buy a few items but the guy was so mean that we had to leave. Don't know why you would work at a candy and toy store if you are incredibly rude and uptight. read more
