Beautiful restaurant with great service and food. The cocktails are tasty too. Delicious bread with olive oil and herbs. Prices were on the high side though - $130 for three people.

A friend arranged a dinner party for about fifteen people at Rocca. This is a nice restaurant in Burlingame. They only have street parking and it can get a little busy during dinner time. There are public lots but they were all full, so I found a parking in a residential area a block away. This restaurant has a nice upstairs dining area where they put large parties. We started with some appetizers. The eggplant was really good. They also serve a few types of bread with olive oil and vinegar. I was in a traditional mood so I got the spaghetti with bolognese and added meatballs. It was very rich and filling. I thought the service was very efficient as well and they handled our large party well.

A classic! Definitely will come back. Great vibes, space, crab cakes and beef tar tar was supreme and the branzino was a classic~ delicious. Service was extremely friendly and amazing, the waiter brought my take out to meI wish I could have stayed and ate there but grandma was sleepy!

We made a reservation, and showed up a litt bit late. They forced us to wait another 15 minutes for our table. Given this poor experience you can tell how impressed I was with their food and service to give them five stars. The indoor sitting is very nice with high ceilings and nice painting. We went there to celebrate my father's 69's birthday, and they did an amazing job. The food was pretty delicious (probably the best Italian food I had for a while) and the service was spectacular. I am truly amazed how long it took me to find this place despite the fact we only live two blocks away. I highly recommend this place, and will be there soon myself as well.

My beloved boyfriend surprised me by bringing me here for my birthday dinner. Rocca Ristorante is a cozy Italian mom-and-pop restaurant in Burlingame, and since he had made a reservation, we were promptly seated in a cozy red velvet booth. LED candlelight gave a soft warm glow to the ambience. Since the holiday season was just at the end, Christmas lights were still up. For our main courses, we had the Fettuccine and the Lasagna special, which were both really delicious and indulgent. For dessert, we got the Mocha crunch cake. The waitstaff also brought out a round mini cheesecake with a candle for me to blow out! My boyfriend and I had such a wonderful time here, and I could not have asked for better company on my birthday. As we got up to put on our coats and head out for the night, a friendly lady gushed over how cute we are and asked to take photos of us, which we happily obliged. It was very sweet of her to say so! Special thanks to my boyfriend to bring me here for a special birthday at Rocca Ristorante!

Perfect spot for a client dinner. Not too noisy. Service is fantastic. We started with the calamari and bruschetta I had the spaghetti bolognese. We ended with the tiramisu and bread pudding. The bread pudding stole the show. Perfect creamy, just sweet enough. Perfection.

Came here for dinner while In town. Service very good and nice ambiance. Ordered Ceaser salad, eggplant appetizer and caprese salad. All very good. Main dishes was salmon, mixed seafood pasta and short rib. Food was pretty good and prices reasonable.

Been here a couple of times already and have forgotten to leave a review. I love a great Italian restaurant & this one is one of them. Great place to have happy hour and dinner. My all time favorite is their tortellini and can't go wrong with any of their desserts! Great atmosphere. The staff are always friendly. Can get really crowded after 7pm.

Our appetizer, crab & shrimp rolls. Tasty.

This place has been around for quite some time. It is a very nice classy place for a nice dinner with friends or date spot. Busy for a Tuesday but not overly crowded. Food was delicious. Ambiance was nice. Music playing in the background but not loud. Definitely will be back.

Veal scallopine

Street parking, free Sunday else meters in parking lot. Food veal scallopine had tasty gravy, meat was tasteless as it is veal, average Italian veal. Seafood noodles has soup base, shellfish, and tasted good. Sea food rolls appetizer were six crunch pieces. Not a great value like the Chinese restaurants. Service was okay, food and drinks came, water refill. Ambiance was good, smallish Italian ristorante. May eat here again on date night. Overa, 4 stars out of 5

Very good Italian restaurant in Burlingame! Waitress was very kind and attentive, gave great recommendations. Food was delicious, we tried two different seafood pastas and both were good. Desserts were a perfect end to the evening. Restaurant is very cozy inside, nice atmosphere but a little loud. Definitely will return if we are back!

Fettuccine alla Rocca - 6/5

Tonight, we had another amazing dinner at Rocco. We arrived at 7 p.m. on a busy Saturday night, but thanks to our Yelp reservation, we were seated right away. Our server was friendly and attentive throughout. We started with two appetizers: the calamari, which was excellent (5/5), and the carpaccio, which had a bit too much Dijon mustard for our taste but was still good (4/5). For our main courses, each of us chose a pasta dish. I absolutely loved my fettuccine ala Rocca--it was outstanding (6/5)! My son, who usually loves gnocchi, wasn't as impressed with theirs tonight (2/5), and I'd have to agree after trying a bite. My husband had the fettuccine con salsiccia, which he felt was a bit tangy (3/5). My son's girlfriend ordered the linguine fra diavolo in red sauce, though it arrived in white sauce by mistake. Our server quickly fixed it, and within five minutes, she had her correct order. We really appreciated his prompt and attentive service (10/5)! Overall, it was a delicious and cozy meal, and we all left happy. We'll definitely be back!

We went on a slow night and still dealt with a total "slow turnaround" and some classic operational gaffes. They couldn't find the bottle of wine we actually wanted and then spent way too much time trying to sell us on a different bottle we had zero interest in. It was a bit of a circus just to get the basics situated. But then the food arrived, and that's where the magic happened. I've seen reviews complaining about a "lack of flavor," but that was not our experience at all. We started with the beet salad--the honey-lemon notes were nice, though nothing to write home about. But once the mains hit, everything changed. The Carpaccio was spot on, the Ribeye (prepared perfectly to medium) was delicious, and the Branzino special was fantastic. And the Rigatoni Rustica? Believe the hype. It's a classic for a reason. Bottom line: The service is definitely sloppy, but I wouldn't dismiss this place because of it. The food is genuinely good Italian and the prices are reasonable for Burlingame. My advice? Skip the salads, ignore the service "monkey dance," and go straight for the classics. I'd definitely go back just for the steak and the Rigatoni alone. Highly recommended if you actually care about what's on your plate. An A++ local find.

The heirloom burrata starter was a missed. Although good portion, it was bland and poorly seasoned. Our entrees however, were delicious! We had the Octopus Spaghetti and the Linguine Vongole. Each dish had very distinct flavors and tastefully pleasing! We ended the meal with the tiramisu. It was simple, light and homely.

When I found out Stella was participating in " Flavors of the Peninsula", our suburban version of Restaurant Week in the city and that the 4-courses included a truffle gnocchi course, I made a Monday night reservation for two. The $65 prixe-fixe menu offered some of our favorites. Of course the best came first. Their version of truffle gnocchi is simply perfect - four delicate hand rolled pillows swimming in butter with fried sage leaves and truffle oil. I always have to stop myself from canceling everything else I've ordered and piping up " eight more gnocchi please". I opted for the salmon and my kid really likes Stella's chicken parmesan. The Stella salad features a yummy champagne dressing, candied nuts and cranberries in a nest of butter lettuce. The salmon was delicious, though the thinnest parts of the fish were a tad overcooked. The broccolini', spinach and carrot combination were fantastic, as were the perfect mashed potatoes. Kyle loved his chicken and made me take a bite if his pasta- yummm. Generally we are not dessert orderers but we were delighted with the lava cake and caramel gelato. It was a lot of food, especially for this restaurant and a true bargain at $65 for a four course meal at one of our neighborhood favorites that we generally save for special occasions due to the price tag.

I made reservations for our party of eight for 6:30 PM via OpenTable. Easy peasy. Adding a few extra minutes to our travel time for finding street parking, we arrived just in time. No other tables were occupied, inside nor outside at the front patio. The venue, a warm space with dramatic lighting, was very clean and tidy during our visit. Trapeze's menu offers Italian fare with Mediterranean and Californian nuances. Upon seating, we were served baskets of complimentary bread accompanied with a unique red thick dipping oil which Peter enjoyed so much that he asked for more. The servers happily gave us extra servings. In addition to cocktails, wine, and coffee drinks, below are what we ordered for dinner: Lemon Citrus and Avocado Salad ($13) - I believe that Mom ordered this and found it to be light and refreshing. Ahi Tuna Tartar ($20) - I think that Peter and Mara shared this and ate it all up. I didn't hear any comments on it, though. Beet Salad ($14) - A very nice salad with generous slices of red and yellow beets and goat cheese. For an additional $12, Auntie Marissa added Salmon to her salad and had it as her main dish which filled her up. Grilled Polenta Cake ($12) - Auntie Marissa found this starter to be rich and filling. She said that Pal would really like it. Penne Con Pomodora E Melanzane ($20) - DJ was not very impressed by this bowl of pasta and eggplant, unfortunately. Paella Valencia ($32) - Uncle Danny is not a big seafood eater, but he was very pleased with this Spanish rice dish. Grilled Filet Mignon ($50) - Yum! This was my order and I loved it. Duck Ragu ($26) - Peter did not seem as enthusiastic about this pasta dish as he did with the complimentary red dipping oil for the baskets of bread. Penne Al Forno ($26) - Mom ordered this and thought that it was good. Classic Italian Tiramisu ($12) - This was served to me on the house, topped with a lit candle for my birthday. Everyone enjoyed sharing it. Bread Pudding ($13) - Ok, according to DJ. Trio of French Mini-Chocolate Beignets ($12) - These round beignets were like light donut holes filled with chocolate. They were nice, especially with the side of whipped cream and sliced strawberries. Service was excellently friendly, accommodating, and attentive. Although DJ didn't think highly of Trapeze Restaurant, Mom and I were delighted by the dinner and would return with pleasure.
