Went for the first time here this past Friday night around 6:15pm and was just able to get the last table for party of 4. The place was busy and loud as people were enjoying their meals. The restaurant is cozy and charming. And our servers were very pleasant and attentive. They started us with complimentary focaccia bread and olive oil and we started with a couple of salads to share and both the caesar and misto salads were terrific and refreshing. enjoyed their classic Lasagne with bolognese....heavy and meaty. Could only eat half and had to take the rest home. My wife ordered their seafood and squid ink pasta off their specials and really liked it, too, although it is a touch spicy. I had a good glass of Nero d'Avola which paired well with my meal. For dessert, we tried both their affogato and tiramisu. Both were very tasty! Will definitely come back to try more dishes!
Although we came on a busy day and waited a bit for a table, it was worth it! The place was super cute, but a little tight when it's fully packed. I still definitely want to go back and try more things on their menu. Totally recommend for all my fellow carb lovers! My order: Complimentary Focaccia-- Apologies for the picture because we scarfed it down, it was so good!! Super fresh and delicious. Gnocchi Fritto -- Fried gnocchi with truffle sauce. This is a must try for their appetizer honestly! I loved its crunch and soft texture with the truffle sauce. Build your own pasta -- I loved how they have this as an option! We were trying to get our protein in by getting Rigatoni, Bolognese, AND meatballs. Super heavy in the best way haha. Lasagna Pollo alla Vodka -- Now this was super heavy, but so delicious. I've never had a lasagna with chicken OR with vodka pasta, it was amazing. New flavors for me for sure, but I do recommend this!
Tried this new restaurant that's hidden away from the main Burlingame Ave. My first impression is that the decor is really cute, there's fake lemon plants on each table to fit the Capri ambience, and video of people vacationing in Capri playing on the wall inside the restaurant. The foccacia was given to us by our waiter without us asking, even though on the menu it stated we needed to ask. This was very fluffy and can be dipped in the olive oil provided at the table. I was immediately impressed with the lasagna with Italian sausage as I was making my first cut with my knife. I could tell that the pasta was freshly made and the sausage and sauce combo was amazing. I've had a lot of lasagna in my life and this dish stood out to me. The menu gives you an option to create your own pasta dish by choosing your pasta shape, sauce, protein, and topping, so we chose the gnocchi with Alfredo sauce and added chicken as the protein. Gnocchi was nicely dense and chewy, the Alfredo was creamy and not too salty. We ended our meal with dessert, and the waiter recommended tiramisu. I've been to Italy and had tiramisu, and also made it at home several times. The tiramisu was tasty, but what I noticed was that the lady fingers weren't really soaked in the coffee/Kahlua mixture so the dessert as a whole didn't have that flavor that tiramisu is known for, plus the texture was too dry and was more cake like. Also the mascarpone was a bit too hard and not soft, perhaps not enough whipped cream was added. Overall the meal was enjoyable and I would return again to try the other types of lasagnas, and perhaps their gelato.
I've been eyeing this place for a long time now I LOVE lasagna. Not to toot my own horn but I make an amazing lasagna myself. The vibes did take me back to Italy and staff we really nice. I got the pesto lasagna because it's unique not something I make at home or have had anywhere else. It's a lot lighter than you might think because sometimes pesto can be heavy from the oils and cheese but not this one. Loved the flavors and the corn and zucchini. My BF got the classic lasagna and I would say it's good...but I think the one I make at home fits my flavor palette more. We also got the caesar salad, it's a solid caesar and we got the anchovies on top too it was so umami it hit the spot. This is a great date night place I'd recommend to others. I want to come back to try their other pasta dishes!
I was absolutely enamored by the coastal Italian vibes this little restaurant had. After seeing the interior, I needed to try their lasagna!!! ESPECIALLY since it's a shop that specializes in their housemade lasagna sheets. ALSO, the housemade focaccia was perfect. Here's what we ordered: Lasagna Bolognese (4/5): Soooo rich and flavorful! Almost too sweet and salty, but wow! The bolognese sauce was SOOOO MEATY. It was more beef than pasta, which was really hearty and delicious. Each lasagna sheet was tender, but had a nice bite. Seafood Linguni Special (5/5): If the waiter tells you this is the special today, this is a MUST ORDER! We substituted the squid ink spaghetti with linguini, and it perfectly soaked up the DECADENT SAUCE. Not too salty and perfectly balanced. Complimented the seafood incredibly. I will come back and eat this EVERY TIME. Pesto Gnocchi (4/5): They cook the gnocchi really tender and soft, so don't expect really chewy potato dumplings. I personally like the texture and it absorbed the pesto really well. This had no frills and was simple. Could use some more salt and cheese, but still easily yummy. -1 star because we did find a little piece of white plastic in our Lasagna Bolognese (pictured in this review). Such a bummer since we had a wonderful experience overall.
This is a very cute and stylish Italian restaurant that sets itself apart from your typical class Italian restaurants in the Bay Area. The menu isn't big but very focused, I believe that's a good thing. I scanned around other tables and I saw 8/10 people ordered the Lasagna so I decided to give it a try. My dear friend ordered their special seafood pasta - OMG it was a bomb (9/10)! Everything was so flavorful and well-balanced in that dish. Best seafood pasta I've ever had. On the flip side, I *liked* my Lasagna for the texture but I didn't like the fact that they used Parmesan (or some dry, salty cheese) instead of Mozzarella. The whole dish tasted very heavy and way too umami. I missed the wetness and freshness of a Mozzarella layer, so 6/10. For drinks, I ordered a Negroni - not impressed. For desserts, we shared a Tiramisu (5/10), I wasn't impressed neither. However we enjoyed the arugula grapes salad a lot (7.5/10). We were also very surprised by the generous portion of all dishes offered by this tiny little restaurant. I will return to Capri and try other dishes for sure.
4.5 star experience. My party of 5 arrived on a Saturday evening and got seated within a few minutes. Always love the option to join the online waitlist ahead of time when reservations aren't available. Favorite dishes of the night were: -Gnocchi Fritto appetizer: Never had fried gnocchi before, had a great puffy texture. Truffle taste in the truffle cream sauce wasn't very strong. -Zucchine e Maiz lasagna: Pesto was a great sauce choice and paired well with the zucchini and corn. -Squid Ink Seafood Pasta (special): Generous seafood portions and the dish was flavorful. -Complimentary focaccia: Fluffy and yummy with olive oil. Other dishes: The Italian Sausage lasagna was fine. I personally love crispy lasagna edges, but some people found it too crisp and too dry. The salad (Insalata di Rucola) wasn't mind blowing, but I'm glad we ordered a veg to cut through the richness and heaviness of three carb-heavy entrees. The restaurant itself is smaller than expected, so I would avoid coming here with large parties. It also felt really hot and stuffy inside, which I anticipate getting worse as summer progresses. The interior is cutely decorated. Service was initially attentive. We did have to flag down our waitress multiple times to order and get the check. Overall, my party enjoyed the food and we would come back!

It wasn't a huge deal, but we were expecting indoor seating and we felt like the vibe of the meal was different given we were literally eating on the sidewalk. We asked to be moved to an indoor table but were told they were for reservations...which we had. For food, we got their classic gnocchi appetizer, the bolognese lasagna, and their seafood pasta along with a few nonalcoholic drinks. Everything was tasty but relatively high priced. For example, the seafood pasta was $35. The lasagna bolognese was good, but we felt that it actually had too much cheese. Gnocchi was good but not worth $14. Service was friendly, but we didn't appreciate how our waitress tried to push the burrata appetizer on us at least three times.
Stopped by on a whim on a Tuesday around 5pm. There wasn't a wait yet and only two tables taken. Service was attentive and a carafe of water was given to the table (of 3). We got the gnocchi fritto, burrata alla caprese, insalata mista, Italian sausage lasagna, lobster ravioli (special), and tiramisu. Gnocchi was fried well and was chewy and crispy. The truffle cream sauce was nice. I could see this going well with an order of the meatballs. The burrata was good as well with juicy tomatoes and seemed to have some sort of pesto sauce with it. The mista salad was a bit bland - probably wouldn't order it again. The italian sausage lasagna was good - crispy cheese edges and had a kick to it because of the peppers. I did find the lasagna on the slightly drier side. It was better after we added some of the sauce from the ravioli. As for the ravioli, it was a tiny bit disappointing. Couldn't quite taste the lobster in it and the overall ravioli wasn't that hot. The sauce was tasty though. Surprisingly, I would say the tiramisu was the best dish we had. Light, sweet, and creamy. Very easy to eat and not dry at all. Wouldn't mind returning and trying the bolognese lasagna or building your own.

We made a reservation ahead of time, but when we arrived there was a large party inside, so our options were sitting in the very back indoors or outside on a warm day. We chose to sit outside, but as the sun shifted it got pretty hot and we ended up having to get up halfway through the meal to move our table, chairs, and umbrella to stay shaded. About an hour into our meal, our conversation was interrupted and we were asked to leave because they needed the table for other guests, which felt a bit rushed. That said, the food was delicious and the complimentary focaccia was especially yummy!
First time at Capri Lasagneria on a Thursday evening around 5:20 pm. Inside the restaurant was about half full. Nice interior with tables pretty close to each other. Started off with the Cesar salad and fried gnochi. Both were good. The Italian sausage lasagna wasn't bad. The sheets of pasta were soft and cooked well. The bolognese had a weird after taste. Chocolate budino was major letdown. Plain chocolate pudding, hard pass. The service was lacking. The one lady server had some major rbf and didn't look like she wanted to be there. Around customers she was all smiles but when hanging out by bar area was all frowns and not pleasant. Indoor/outdoor seating Street parking
Walked around and decided to check out this tiny gem. It definitely doesn't disappoint. They line to get a table did start to get long but it was a good thing we got there just in time. We had a pup so we sat outside during one of those warmer winter evenings. Although sitting inside would've been nice also. Place looks pretty good Now let's talk about what matters... Free bread!!! Lol. Yes but there's more. We came here for the lasagna and while it wasn't what I was used to, I just love that layer of cream or ricotta or mozzarella... We did not get that. What we got was this rich bolognese sauce which tasted like like it spent a while in the pot. I also loved the lobster ravioli which was a special for that day. It's texture was just really good. It has a good bite. I would Def recommend. I think it will be put on my regular rotation. Hope you guys enjoy!!!
TL;DR: delicious food, good drinks, and wonderful ambiance. Experience: It was hard to book a reservation so we decided to stop by here for an early dinner with a friend. When we got there, we were seated promptly. The waitress was friendly and gave us a run down of the menu and drinks. We ordered- 2 drinks: mommenpop blood orange and a Hugo spritz. 2 lasagna a mano: Zucchine and Italian Sausage. The drinks were delicious and very summer theme. It was perfect for the warm summer temps that day. The lasagnas were good. The Italian sausage was much more flavorful than the Zucchine. Something about the spicy, meat, and pasta combo just worked better. We also got the focaccia bread. It was complimentary but you had to ask. That's all I'm going to say about it... Overall, we'll be back to try some of their other options.

I'm so delighted to have dined in this niche Italian restaurant in Burlingame on a Monday afternoon for my birthday. The vibe felt so relaxing and honestly, rather romantic despite dining alone. As for the food, the quality and presentation well supported its reasonable menu prices. The arugula salad was fresh and the golden berries gave it a bite. The parmigiana cheese gave it extra flavor. My Pollo Alla Vodka Lasagna proved a real birthday treat as its comforting taste derived from its mildly-sweet vodka sauce, shredded chicken (which aided digestion) and crispy lasagne sheets. I will also add that the portion sizes are most decent for a single eater. The salad and lasagne can even be shared between two. The complimentary Italian bread also had a lovely moist texture to it. Although my cappuccino was nicely presented and beautifully frothed, its temperature cooled rather quickly. I appreciate this is the normal standard for cappuccinos and lattes for to avoid scalding the milk but the barista could perhaps pre-heat the cup prior to pouring the espresso beverage to retain its heat. Overall, the inclusion of the background Italian music (including Disney's instrumental "Bella Note") and the cinematic projection screen on the wall, also made for a meditative eating experience. read more
It was an impromptu lunch for 3 at Capri Lasagneria. The restaurant had a bright, coastal Mediterranean feel with a playful citrus theme. The lady who seated us was friendly and accommodating. She kept our water glasses filled and brought us two helpings of complimentary focaccia, which was airy and delicious! Probably the highlight of our meal. O U R P I C K S MEATBALLS ~ $14 Good and tasty, though a bit dense. We've definitely had better meatballs elsewhere. 3.5/5 BOLOGNESE LASAGNA ~ $22 A generous helping, but I forgot to take a photo before our friend dug in. She felt the ground beef was too salty. I took a bite as well, and it was noticeably saltier than my pasta. She took most of it home and plans to add some tomatoes or spaghetti sauce to dilute the saltiness. 3.5/5 SEAFOOD WITH SQUID INK SPAGHETTI ~ $35 The house-made noodles were nicely al dente, while the tomato-based sauce seemed pretty basic and nothing extraordinary. There were plenty of bite-sized chunks of salmon, some baby clams, a few mussels, and two prawns. This was a daily special, so the price wasn't disclosed until we received the bill. 4/5 SEAFOOD WITH LINGUINE ~ $35 This was pretty much the same seafood preparation as the squid ink spaghetti, but served with linguine instead. However, as you can see from the photo, there was noticeably less seafood compared to the squid ink dish, which was a bit disappointing. 3.5/5 Although the food was decent overall, I felt the prices were a bit inflated for what we received. With tax and tip, our lunch came to $150 for 3, making it a fairly expensive lunch. We also ordered one beer, which added to the tab. We ordered- 2 drinks: mommenpop blood orange and a Hugo spritz. 2 lasagna a mano: Zucchine and Italian Sausage. The drinks were delicious and very summer theme. It was perfect for the warm summer temps that day. The lasagnas were good. The Italian sausage was much more flavorful than the Zucchine. Something about the spicy, meat, and pasta combo just worked better. We also got the focaccia bread. It was complimentary but you had to ask. That's all I'm going to say about it... Such a cute, intimate restaurant! Came in with some friends who made reservations and was seated quickly during lunch on a weekend. The lasagna portions imo are pretty big. My favorite was the zucchini lasagna in comparison to its traditional counterpart. But all the lasagnas we tried were just as tasty. Their salads are also really good and are enough to share between two people depending on your appetite. The waiter who helped us was also very attentive and very knowledgable with the menu/wine. This place was so delicious and had such a cute European feel to it. The staff was so nice, and the food was amazing. They're known for their lasagnas, and we had a zucchini and corn lasagna with pesto - it wasn't too heavy at all. It felt very fresh with such unique flavors, and so delicious. The cocktail was great too - blood orange and not too sweet. The burrata was so creamy, sitting in a bed of pesto, which I feel is uncommon. This is a cute and intimate spot, space is a bit tight inside but they have a few extra tables out front. Food is good and the fried gnocchi was a great shareable appetizer. Lasagna was good but in my opinion taking into account the price, it's just ok. Service is good, they were attentive with refilling the water. Not bad but not amazing enough to stand out. read more
This spot on Burlingame Ave totally gives off Capri vibes with the name and decor, feels like you're on the Italian riviera! The complimentary focaccia is amazing ! It's soft, warm, tons of scallion flavor. The olive oil they give you is really good too. And you can get more bread for free. My friend and I took forever deciding on an appetizer and ended up going with something we'd never tried, the polpette al sugo. For mains we got the squid ink pasta (it was the special) and the zucchine. Polpette al sugo (5/5) - honestly didn't think meatballs would be that exciting but these were SO good! Squid ink pasta special (4/5) - really fresh, just wish it had a little more flavor Zucchine (4/5) - looked like lasagna which I usually don't like, but this was actually really good! Wow! This spot has the best lasagna I think I've ever had! I came by for lunch and was immediately sat down at a table. The server was very friendly and answered all the questions I had about the menu. The interior is well-decorated and themed. I felt like I was in Italy and the decor on the table was cute and well-presented. I decided on the Burrata Aila Caprese with Prosciutto for my appetizer and it was an extra $5 for the prosciutto but it was worth it. The mozzarella was fresh and it paired well with the balsamic, tomatoes and the pesto sauce. It was quite filling and is easily shareable between 2 people. The fresh bread that was brought out was also tasty and a great way to start off the meal. I ended up ordering the Bolognese lasagna for my main and it was simply amazing! The bechamel was rich and the lasagna sheets were al dente and the ragu was hearty and full of meat. The meat to cheese ratio was excellent. It wasn't too salty or dry.The portion size is quite good and I love how it comes out on a pan. This was easily the best lasagna I've had to date! If you are craving Italian food, you have to come check out Capri if you are south of San Francisco or north of San Jose! It's a perfect spot for dates, celebrations or a nice lunch! read more

The restaurant has such a cute and cheerful vibe to it with bright colors and a friendly atmosphere. This place serves mostly lasagna dishes with some dishes being a twist on typical pasta dishes and served as a lasagna. The menu is small and they were able to fit all the food and drinks on one page. We were served focaccia bread as a starter and they brought us a second round since it was really good. Items Ordered: - Zucchine E Mais ($22): This was my first time having a pesto lasagna which came with zucchini. I thought it could've been slightly more flavorful but you can still taste the abundance of pesto in the lasagna. - Pollo Alla Vodka ($23): A twist on the classic pollo vodka pasta dish and also could've had slightly more flavor to it, but still tasted good regardless. read more
We visited Capri Lasagneria on a Monday night and got seated right away with no reservation. The interior was tiny but cute, with rattan furniture and flower lighting fixtures. We skipped drinks and ordered food right away. I chose the Lasagna Pollo alla Vodka and my friends got the Lasagna Italian Sausage and Lasagna Bolognese. We enjoyed the complimentary Focaccia, which was great. I liked my Lasagna Pollo alla Vodka but it didn't blow my mind. I'd never tried a chicken lasagna before and while the sauce was tasty and the texture was nice, there was a strange sour aftertaste. However, I did appreciate the generous portion size! I ended up taking half of it home and the leftovers were great the next day. My friends enjoyed their food as well, but agreed it wasn't the best lasagna of their lives. Stumbled upon this place with my friend and got a reservation. Idk if the reservation was helpful since when we entered the restaurant it was practically full, and they could only sat us at the bar or the table literally next to the walkway. The food was tasty tho, we loved the bread , all the entrees, I kinda hoped they could have more servers around as I couldn't rlly find help around when we needed it, but will comeback soon to try other dishes. read more

The atmosphere is cute and romantic. Located in Burlingame, the vibe is refined, laid back, and personal- perfect for date night. Our waiter was really approachable and helped us out when picking food choices. For the appetizers, we enjoyed the bread and Caesar salad. The bread was warm and peppery while the salad was tangy with a perfect amount of dressing. I got the build your own pasta with rigatoni, Alfredo sauce and chicken, while my boyfriend got the lasagna pollo alla vodka. Both entrees were out of this world. Let me just start with wow! Hands down the second best lasagna I've had out - it was the closest to Italy! I've been searching for thin fresh noodles with the perfect ratio of sauce cheese and this hits the spot! Bolognese was my choice but if I'm ever back I will be eating in! Such a cute little spot and nice ambiance - I felt at home and wish I wasn't getting take out. Burrata caprese was wonderful also with a fun pesto sauce and drops of balsamic! Pairs great with the soft fresh focaccia bread. I'm sold and suggest dinning in or ordering out! It's on such a cute street too by the best dog food store and Ace hardware! Wow. They upped the game: special of the day--salmon piccatta with sautéed spinach, capers, roasted tomatoes and potatoes cooked perfectly, fish not overly done but with just the right amount of flaky. And their impossible lasagna an absolute revelation layered perfectly with a perfect ratio of pasta to cheese to sauce to protein--heaven. Their house made focaccia and olive oil plus out of this world phenomenal friendly customer service. Such a delightful impromptu experience. Can't wait to go back! read more

Cute and minimalist Italian restaurant in downtown Burlingame! We came around 5 pm on a Saturday, and surprisingly it wasn't busy yet. The food came out pretty quickly, and every dish we ordered was delicious! We got the Gnocchi Fritto ($14), Italian Sausage Lasagna ($24), and a dish from their specials menu that I can't remember the name of but it had pear inside the rolled up pasta, walnuts, and Alfredo sauce. It was so good I wish I'd gotten the name of it! They also give you free refills of focaccia, which was nice and fluffy. The portions were decent for the price. Came here on a Friday night and it was crowded! Granted the restaurant is small. They had one outdoor setup and a hostess who took our names down. The wait wasn't too bad. The inside is really nice. They had a projector playing some old school films of what I assume are cities in Italy. It is loud in there but I didn't have a problem hearing my wife while we talked. Service was great! They gave us free cheese and olive bread which was really soft and had a nice kick of salt. We ordered the alla vodka lasagna, fried tortellini, and a seafood pasta (it was their special not listed on the menu). The food was great! The lasagna came out in a small stainless steel pan that was cool to look at and the seafood pasta had quite a bit of mussels and seafood variety. It was all very good. The deep fried tortellini with the truffle dip was also really good. The truffle flavors comes through strong. The tiramisu was also good! Overall I'd come back! I enjoyed my time there. read more
Love this place! Thursday date night for 2 at around 6pm, a little busy at this time but still plenty of tables available. We had a stellar time. Our waitress Selima was so attentive and got our orders in a timely manner and made us feel at home. The food was delicious, the Gnocchi Frito dish was very addictive and unique. The Italian Sausage lasagna and Seafood Linguine (daily special) were also super good! We ended the night super full, the portion sizes worked well for us. The ambience, decorations, and overall vibes are so cute. This would be so good as a date night spot or a fun place to catch up with friends. 10/10 highly recommend! read more
We loved this place so much! Came on Sunday and sat outside because the place was totally packed indoors. Glad we did . Celebrated a birthday luncheon with Selima as our server. The food was sooo good as was the service! By Wednesday, I was craving the food and wanted to check out dinner there. I places us in waitlist and was on it for almost an hour as they were buzzing for dinner.
