Pesto Pesto & Soppressata Pizza
Madeline M.

Absolutely love Vesta! It's definitely a neighborhood favorite. The pizzas are a little pricey, but they're unique and absolutely delicious. My personal favorite is the Honey Sausage. Very cozy and romantic, especially if you sit on the back patio. Such a great spot for date night. The staff is all so friendly and contentious of your experience.

Why 5 stars? Because the sausage and honey pizza was STUPID. --- --- --- Stupid is a good thing, FYI. This was quite possibly the thinnest pizza I've ever had. It was absolutely the kind that you have to roll up to eat, otherwise it's just a flimsy mess. But as it turns out, this flimsy mess was absolute hot fire. To be honest, my only regret is that I didn't order two of them. They were thin and light enough that I absolutely could have housed a couple. And they were tasty enough that maybe I could have done three. My friend wasn't too hungry, but he wanted to try the meatballs, and I was a huge fan of those too. There was no sauce involved, but they were not dried out at all. There was some really unique flavor going on that I couldn't quite put my finger on, but we both loved these. I originally had a reservation here the following night, but had to change my plans and was bummed I was going to have to miss it. Then I ended up being able to visit a night earlier, unexpectedly, and I'm so glad it worked out. I will forever recommend this place to anyone I hear that's visiting Redwood City.

So we came to this place because my daughter heard that BTS ate here. So much fun. It was so very hard to choose what to eat! We decided on 2 pizzas and 2 sides. Our waiter was so much fun and informative! We started with the grilled pairs - delightful!! Then we moved to the mushroom toast..... sooo good! Pizzas were generous sizes and more than enough for 3 peeps. We saw soo many BTS fans.

We come to Vesta often for their margarita pizza: thin, fresh tomato sauce, and nice layer of toppings. Tried their daily special sweet potato soup with coconut milk and lemon yogurt this time. 3.5/5. Not very impressed. I could barely taste the coconut milk, and the consistency needed to be a bit creamier. The lemon yogurt it's an interesting addition but not necessarily enhanced the flavor either. What boost my review is our server, Cindy. She's friendly, efficient, and very professional.

I would drive to Redwood City just for this pizza, and that says everything!! This is my favorite place to get stone oven pizza right now, and it completely exceeded my expectations. The space really stands out. There are three different lighting scenes depending on where you sit, which gives the restaurant different vibes throughout. You can choose between indoor dining, a more lively inside area, or a relaxed outdoor patio, and each area feels intentional and well designed! Service was one of the highlights of my visit. My server, Ashley, was extremely nice and patient, and gave great recommendations. Right when I walked in, two hosts greeted me at the same time, which was such a cute and welcoming touch. The manager was also present and involved, which made the overall experience feel even more attentive! I also had a Chardonnay, which paired perfectly with the pizza and really elevated the whole meal! Items I ordered: Avocado Toast: Pistachio pesto, creamy avocado, chili kick. Usually this is something I can remake at home, but this one was so good I honestly don't think I could replicate it haha! Grilled Pear and Burrata: Sweet pears with creamy burrata Braised Short Ribs: Tender with apple fennel slaw Sausage and Honey Pizza: Sweet and spicy balance Carbonara Pizza: Rich, savory, very satisfying Mexican Chocolate Bread Pudding: Warm, moist, and comforting with a horchata-like milk layer at the bottom The pizzas were the standout, but everything was well executed. This is a place I would come back to again!!!!

Came here with friends to celebrate a birthday and the staff were super accommodating. Had a reservation and they were able to seat us a bit early. The restaurant is much bigger than I thought as they have a hallway leading to an area in the back. From apps to the pies, the food was delicious and good quality. We got the mushroom and onion, carbonara, sausage and honey, and a couple other pizzas. I really like how even though the crust is relatively thin, it's not soggy! This is something's several pizza places I've tried in the past have failed to do. Every bite was full of flavor, and I can't wait to go back to try their other pies!

Came in here with some friends with a reservation for Friday night. The place was packed, so reservation would be better to do. There is seating inside and outside. Inside ambience was cozy with a wood oven (which I personally love). Only complaint I have is they do not have any chicken pizza :( Since I dont eat red meat, I could only have veg options. But, their pizza were so delicious that I didn't miss chicken so much. Our server was so sweet and courteous. The experience automatically becomes even more enjoyable if the staff is nice. Ordered mushroom toast, 3 pizza (thin crust), bread pudding and a bottle of Cab. Mushroom toast was so tasty, just enough creamy and not overly salty. The pizza crust was so good honestly, fresh and char done perfectly in the oven. We got rosemary potato and bacon pizza (minus the bacon and added red onion, LOVED this pizza, the taste was amazing!), pesto and soppressata (minus the meat, loved the pesto flavor, was a bit more cheesy than my liking, but really tasty still), vegan maple mushroom (this is a red sauce base, I do not enjoy sweet on my pizza, but still it was decent for me). For dessert, got the mexican chocolate bread pudding (sooo good!) Def recommend this for pizza in Redwood city!

Celebrated my partners birthday at Vesta recently. As always Vesta delivered, the food was delicious and the service exceptional. Highly recommend the small plates, we had the Pork Shoulder and Grilled Pears w/ Burrata. 7:30pm reservation, we were seated immediately.

Vesta continues to be my favorite & go to for pizza in Redwood City! This visit we came for dinner Wednesday night and luckily were able to get seated right away at a table that just opened up! Spicy Vegan Pesto (with added Spicy Italian Sausage) - 3/5 - The pizza crust had a nice bite and chew to it! Though we felt like the toppings fell short in terms of flavor and savoriness. Margherita Pizza (with added Spinach) - 5/5 - We were really appreciative that they were able to add Spinach on to the pizza even though it's specifically not listed as an available add-on for this pizza (though we saw it as a topping for other pizzas on the menu). Overall the pizza was a great balance of cheese, sauce, and spinach on their excellent crust! Charred Cauliflower - 5/5 - The right amount of sourness from the vinaigrette was a great compliment to the pizzas we ordered! The cauliflower was charred well and picked up the grill flavor without being over cooked!

Haven't been to Vesta in a while, so we decided to go last night. Tried to make a reservation online, but the next available time was an hour and a half out. So we just showed up around 6:30 PM on a Thursday and hope for the best. Outside seating was mostly empty, but it was a chilly night, so we chose to wait for an indoor table. Quoted 20 minutes, but we were seated in about 15. Inside was warm and cozy. Totally worth the wait. We ordered three pizzas and they were all great. My favorite was the sausage and honey (still amazing). The burrata with added prosciutto was also excellent. Hubby ordered the special (pesto, ham, pistachios), which he really enjoyed. Consistently good pizza and a solid dinner. Dinner for 4 at a reasonable price. Most importantly, Vesta never disappoints.

Pepperoni Pizza

The first time I visited Vesta was because of a random google search of me trying to find a good restaurant to try with a friend. We took a chance and got more than we bargained for. Nestled in downtown Redwood City, is this beautiful restaurant with a brick oven that's pumping out delicious thin crust pizzas. We made a reservation for 8pm and the service was great! It was also incredibly busy and full. They have a front patio, dining area, and back patio. Family friendly, perfect for date night or catching up with friends. I will say the tables are close together so if hearing the conversation next to you isn't your thing it might overstimulate you. Salads are great, kale salad here is the best. I get it every time and it's not dry or bitter, very refreshing and flavorful. Pan seared Zucchini cakes were not what I expected at all (in a great way) the shredded zucchini, lemon and creamy sauce it pairs with will give you real life ratatouille vibes. I always get the pepperoni! That honey chili sauce they glaze it with is 10/10. We tried the burrata pizza and it did not disappoint. Safe to say the table was cleared at the end of our meal!

Sausage & Honey Pizza

What a gem! Pizza is undoubtedly my favorite food, so I am always on the look out for a great slice-- and this is it! Their most popular pie is the sausage and hot honey and for good reason. The thin crust has the perfect texture all topped with sausage, dollops of creamy cheese sauce, serrano peppers, and honey. Each bite is a delicious twist of sweet, spicy, and salty. For an even better kick, I drizzled their spicy olive oil on. Needless to say it took great restraint not to destroy that pizza in one sitting. I also enjoyed the arugula salad as well which was so fresh and crisp. I loved using arugula to top my pizza :)

Not outrageous but not cheap, so pretty much what I expected. The wines were a mix of some varieties you might expect with other more exotic ones too. You can order a half glass if you just want a taste, and it's a good amount. They also have a couple of flights too. But because it's not primarily flights, it's great that you can pick and choose individual wines and create your own flight essentially. I much prefer this to other places where you might be forced to choose a flight that might have some wines you wouldn't choose to include. So I liked the open menu approach much better. We ordered the Brie with toasts and the burrata flatbread pizza (delicious!!). I'm sure the rest of the food is good too. High quality charcuterie, flatbreads, meatballs, a solid menu for a wine bar. The shrimp dish also was not cohesive, the sauce was the same sauce as the meatballs and then it was poured on top of plain chickpeas. The shrimps were decent but just light garlic flavor. The best dish was the pastrami slider. Maybe it was an off night but they also gave us the wrong bill and they charged us wrong on the second time? Maybe I should have just stuck to wine and cheese.

I would say it feels like a tavern for wealthy noblemen in 1800s England. Allow me to say where it fell short for me, and then I'll sing my praises. The wine... tasted like wine. I don't have a particularly refined palate when it comes to that. The charcuterie board was a collection of expensive items that I am personally not into: miniature pickles (too sour), meat pâté (bland), and what I think were pickled red peppers. There was no cheese, which was highly disappointing; however, if that style of charcuterie suits you, go for it. The music did not match the ambiance at all. They really should play piano or smooth jazz, because the 2010s pop was honestly annoying. DESPITE ALL OF THIS, the crowd was the real pull.
