Like the other guy below, Roberto's was a staple where I spent my childhood. I was up here for YEARS looking for Mexican food, as my reviews will reflect, and it wasn't for a number of years when I actually found a Roberto's by Atlantis! This is my second or third time to this particular location. I've never had a bad meal here or even at the other one. It's exactly what I expect. We ordered a bean and cheese burrito, a number one which is a beef taco and cheese enchilada combination plate, I ordered an extra carnitas burrito and we ordered chips. I typically order carne asada or adobada, but wanted to change it up this time. Everything was hot and fresh. The chips were fresh out of the fryer! Except, they had zero salt. So we had the salt them up a bit when we came home. I didn't take a picture of the carnitas taco, but it was HUGE. I haven't had one of those in years, it was super good. I tried some of the enchilada and the rice and beans, really good as well. I ordered a bean and cheese burrito with pico, I call it the "burrito guero" hahaha! It was good size, but the cheese never really fully melts because of the pico but that's not really a big deal to me. Waited a bit to get our food, but not a big deal. I don't care to wait, when everything is made to order and comes out as hot as it was. The girl at the window wasn't too friendly. She actually seemed perturbed when I asked for extra salsa roja. I don't know she was just having a bad day or she was itching to go home. Come on, you guys can do better. My wife and I are from San Diego, home of the Roberto's franchise. I've been eating Roberto's rolled tacos since the early 80s. We've just had a Roberto's open up out in the Spanish Springs area and we've gone there a few times since they opened. When they first opened, long lines and fresh good food. Now that they've been open a while, things are slipping. I went there this evening for some rolled tacos and to get my wife a fish taco. No one else in the drive through but I had to wait for quite a while, obviously they were frying the fish and rolled tacos. Turns out the fish was over cooked as were the rolled tacos. Not sure if they oil they are using is too hot or they are simply cooking the food for too long a period of time. This is not the first over cooked fried items we've had there. The refried beans were cold as if they've been sitting there in a pot of a long time. The rice was good. Come on Robertos you can do better, I've had it. read more

So it's difficult for me to find a good restaurant in Reno/Sparks that serves good vegan food. It was getting late so we decided to try the new Roberto's out by us. I told my partner I could do a little beans and rice and maybe a cheese enchilada and just be vegetarian for the evening. I took two bites and told my partner the enchiladas were cold. We opened them up and the cooks had just took some tortillas and filled them with cold cheddar and never even melted these. So I tried to just eat the beans and rice and they were also cold. We packed it all up to give to his son. I ended up coming home to have coconut yogurt and some granola. I called Robertos and asked to speak to the manager. After holding for 5 minutes, Cesar told me the Mgr wasn't there and asked me if I "needed to say something " I told him what I had found and he asked me HOW LONG it was! Burritos are packed to the edge, carne asada fries are legendary, Affordable and fast it's the kind of spot you keep coming back to. Jamaica, piña, and horchata were absolutely delicious and refreshing. Decent amount of seating. Friendly staff. Plenty of parking but it's shared with other businesses. With all that said the reason I gave two stars is the bathrooms were a mess and so was the dinning room. In closing food and staff are solid. Cleanliness held it back from a higher rating. read more

This is a new establishment in Spanish Springs and it is still settling in. There seems to be a turnover in personnel but the seem to be stabilizing. I went to get chicken rolled tacos with guacamole. It's a good deal 5 for $10 and change. The tacos were tasty and not greasy. The toppings of shredded cheese, guac and lettuce were all fresh. So, first impression was good and bad. The restaurant is very clean and cute which is good and the good is yummy though not fantastic. The wait time was less than ten minutes which is also good. There are problems though. Number one I forgot to ask if I could get a reward card till after I ordered which they could have offered me. I asked if I could get a stamp for ordering today and they said not til next time. I feel like they purposefully didn't offer it because they don't want me to get the benefit. Number two the attitude was ok with the first girl but the girl that handed it to me kind of whipped it at me. Rude. So I got a number 14 which is cheese enchilada and chile relleno 15.25. I asked for chicken enchilada which they did for 70 cents extra and sour cream 1.25 and guacamole 1.25 and a horchata with ice 2.65. The price was ok and the food tastes about a four not a five though because the cheese in the chile relleno was a bit weird thick and stringy. The horchata was ok but no ice and not great. I am really not supposed to eat mexican food so i may never benefit from a reward card. I feel this place could do better though. read more

Stopped in after their opening. The food was good. The wait time was a bit much. Clean inside. The staff was pleasant. Attempted to go back everyday since, on my way to work. Between 5-5:30am. It has been closed "for cleaning" everyday. The staff are sitting on buckets in the back with the music blaring. Sign says open 24hrs. Yet closed from 10p-8a. Went through the drive thru and had a 25 min wait for lunch. Ordered the rolled tacos with guac. It looked like guacamole soup with soggy taquitos, I had to look for. . Very unappealing. Looked forward to having another alternative to McD's. Guess I will stick with a sure bet. read more

No seasonings...needs garlic powder/fresh, cumin, cilantro, lime juice, salt, would even be a nice touch. Meat is either mushy or over cooked and dried up. First time in this Roberto's. This dining room is well kept and cleaner than the other stores in town I've visited. I was picking up food for my kids at Panera next door and we wanted breakfast burritos without having to make a mess when I got home. I knew I wasn't going to be in the mood after picking up groceries at my nearby Winco. We ordered a bacon and ham breakfast burrito and agua de piña. Prices were fair, but our burritos were just okay. They were lacking meat and the potatoes were almost cooked. Two bites in, I had to pop them into my air fryer to cook a bit longer; That was disappointing. I should have just made our burritos. I would have saved money and time. Service at the counter was with Stephanie. That's the name on my receipt so I'm hoping that's the young girl that helped. She was friendly and helpful. There was another one a bit older than the girl that took my order who was going between the kitchen and the counter was less charming. I would come back, but maybe not for their breakfast burritos. We typically like to go to Riva's instead of Roberto's but figured since one opened in our area we would try it. I had the chorizo breakfast burrito and it lacked a lot of flavor. I paired it with the green salsa and that seemed like it was more oil and spice than flavor as well. My husband enjoyed his carne asada fries and ate the entire full serving, so that was a win. Service was quick and I can appreciate that as well. Overall, it was decent, but I'd still go to Riva's for their flavor. read more

First off, the food was good and the seating area was clean. I got the crunchy tacos which were fried and tasty. We also got a beef burrito. The burrito was good but got soggy and too messy to eat quickly. We went in because we were in a hurry and kept our order simple in hopes we could take the food to eat to-go. Service was pretty bad. I asked the cashier a question since it was our first time and she acted very bothered to give me information. I also watched our food get made and sit in the back counter waiting to be handed to us for a minimum of 5 minutes while one cashier worked and another stood by her chatting. This was pretty frustrating as it took about 15+ mins to receive our "fast food". I'm willing to try again and am hoping to have a better device experience next time. Him and I went there together (not a date) for some food. I ordered a chicken burrito and he ordered a wet burrito. The food came out probably about ten minutes later and looked pretty tasty. Boy, was I wrong. I'm not entirely sure what intergalactic alien meat they put in my burrito, but it was not chicken. I asked the employee if it could be remade and she began to cry. I was quite confused. I know I look strong and intimidating but I'm a nice guy. Anyways, the old ritto was remade and it was lousy. My buddy said his food was alright. Roberto's is your standard, fast-food style Mexican spot -- quick, cheap, and you pretty much get exactly what you expect. Nothing fancy, but it gets the job done when you're hungry and want something convenient. The biggest downside is the meat. Both the chicken and beef are pretty dry and kind of indistinguishable from each other, which isn't ideal. There's just not much flavor going on. The tacos have a nice crispy shell and sometimes they pack in a good amount of cheese, which definitely helps -- but on my latest visit there was way too much lettuce and not nearly enough cheese, leaving the taco tasting pretty bland. Surprisingly, the beans were one of the better items -- actually flavorful with a little bit of spice. The rice is decent too. The salsas are generic and don't really bring much to the table. For the price, though, it's not a bad option. It's definitely better than Taco Bell on a good day, maybe equal on an average day, and probably better than some of the other low-tier Mexican places around. It's the kind of spot you hit when you're in a pinch, not somewhere you go out of your way for. It fills the void -- just don't expect anything that'll blow your mind read more

Finally, a great local Mexican restaurant. We have been there twice since it recently opened. Obviously, it is very clean and nicely decorated because it is new. And they keep the restrooms clean as well. I have had the chili relleno and the chicken enchilada. Both were great. My husband had something I can't even pronounce, and he wants to go back again. The price is reasonable because the portions are big. Service is fast and friendly, but I would not suggest the drive thru. Some people have complained about the wait time on that, but I'd say they are too impatient. It takes time to cook some things unlike a burger drive through. The only thing I did not try was the sauce since it was MUCH too liquid.... almost like water. It should be thicker. It will now be our favorite place to eat Mexican food especially since it so convenient at the bottom of the hill. read more

Roberto's finally opened a location in Spanish Springs and it was a pleasant surprise. Open arrival there is ample parking or if you prefer the drive through it was designed correctly. The restaurant area has numerous low 4 person tables, it is a large open space, extremely clean, the entire kitchen is stainless steal, open to public view. They have several large tv monitors with the menu, the one recommendation is to tilt them as they can be slightly difficult to read with the sun coming through the large windows. Service was prompt and professional, I really like the fact that their menu is made to order, not just thrown together from a warmer. We had the Carne Asada Breakfast Burrito, it was delicious, very well balanced with egg, potatoes, cheese and steak, just needed a little salt. She wanted more egg and potatoes with less steak but agreed it was evenly balanced, just a personal preference. I understand why every time we drove by it has been busy, it's is worth the wait and we we'll be back. read more

Went to this establishment today and ordered a chicken burrito and it not only was the wrong chicken burrito there was a long black hair in it. I went back for them to fix the mistake, not only did they not fix the mistake the manager refused to go to the window and refused to even say their names, I go there all the time and the service has never been as terrible as it was this early afternoon. Need to do better and be better, customer service was TRASH, you'd think you'd want to just fix the problem, I do not recommend going there! read more

This was our second time eating this location and both times were spot on! They had 4 people working and it took about 5 minutes for my wife and I to get our food on both visits. Good portions and great pricing along with daily specials. My chicken enchilada and chicken taco were loaded with chicken. Much more than i have received at some nearby mexican restaurants. We spent about $25 for the two of us and felt it was a great value. They also have a senior discount, you just need to ask for it. Also, the seating area was clean and there are plenty of tables. read more
