I first visited Dr. Ammirati, who was recommend to me by a friend, after I woke up early one morning with severe pain in my left shoulder. I went to Ammirati first thing before work and he was able to make almost all the pain go away on the first visit. Not that he needs another rave review, but Dr. Ammirati is amazing! I remember when I first walked into his office, I had been in pain for a week and it was growing day by day. I finally decided to go to a chiropractor and found Dr. Ammirati. I went in, told him what was wrong, he asked me a few other question and got to to work. The next day, I was feeling ten times better. He's not just amazing at fixing backs, but he also makes his patients feel very comfortable as soon as they walk in the office. He's caring, and kind and is genuinely interested in his patients and not just about a quick fix to get you out the door quickly. Dr Rob Ammirato is one of the kindest and thoughtful chiropractors I've ever seen. He is very intuitive and really takes the time to get to the cause of the problem, really listens to you. Rob Ammirati is awesome! I have been going to him for over 3 years. But ever since I got rear ended 6 months ago and took 5 months to finally realize that he could help me, I've been so relieved. He is slowly but surely fixing my back. A month later, I am so much better off. I am able to sleep now and my neck and lower back are not in massive pain. I still can't say that I can cock my head in any direction but that I think has more to do with the muscles still healing. I also have taken a few falls since I the car accident, apparently because my sense of balance and depth have been compromised. I took a fall that took out my elbow and knee. In pain? For me it's been chronic. For 23 years. More than 2 decades ago I injured myself swimming (butterfly stroke eventually breaks your wings). I went to 4 different chiropractors , all highly recommended, but...only able to give temporary relief. The 4th one I saw weekly for 18 years, but my shoulders were never more than 2 days pain free. Then, we moved to California and I was concerned about finding a chiropractor here who could give me at least the minimum level of relief I had back in Austin. A friend took me to Dr. Rob Ammirati. I can't believe I haven't written a review for Dr. Ammirati yet...he's actually one of my longest standing health care providers. I was referred to him after getting hit in my car (in the 90's!) At the time, I was skeptical of chiropractic, but he has made such a difference in my health. As others have mentioned, Dr. Ammirati is very intuitive. He took an active interest in helping me solve a shoulder/neck problem at the source (and figured out it was a seatbelt that was hitting my shoulder in a bad place and constantly stressing it). He even ordered a hard seat to help me to try to boost myself to a different angle while driving. He is very holistic in his approach and always makes positive suggestions that have actually changed my life for the better. He still checks in on me from time to time. So many chiropractors...how to choose? I got lucky when a massage therapist referred me to Dr. Rob Ammirati. I've been seeing him for a decade for the various aches and pains that come with age and trauma, and darned if he doesn't figure out how to fix all of them! The latest is a tricky knee that has begun to obey me again with a little coaxing from Dr. Ammirati. He's a truly nice guy, has a cool rotating collection of art books and pictures in the waiting room, abundant close parking. Dr Ammirati has a lot of good reviews, but my experience was not spectacular. I was having some problem with neck pain and it receded, but I'm not sure that was due to his manipulations. I do know that I came out of the first appointment bruised and feeling a bit violated. He went extremely deep on the deep tissue massage. He asked me if I had ever been to a chiropractor before and had massage. I told him yes, but that it had been several years. He totally missed the several years and jumped right in on me like my body was used to being assaulted by massage and chiropractic. At next visit, I raised this with him and he apologized for being so rough. My overall impression was that he had been doing this for years, but his practice did not suite my needs and I found a different chiropractor for future visits. read more

I have worked with Rob for years. When I started I had trouble with my neck in that i couldn't, literally, turn it to my left....just wouldn't go. I must admit I am not the Best patient ever. but Rob only expects you to be you and your life style and the demands of it on your body can be sometimes debilitating. I'm retired now as an auto mechanic so I see him way less frequently and over the years I'd like to say we have become friends. Excellent at diagnosing the root of the problem and the treatment and...behavior modifications you may have to change. Like for years he kept telling me to take my wallet out of my back pocket because it shifts your hips and misaligns your spine when you sit......i now put it in a coat pocket or leave it locked in the car...duh....took me years to hear but he would every now and then remind me...the office and treatment rooms are not hospital green and starkly foreboding..jsut the oposite its friendly and comfortable. get appointments in advance cause he's buisy. read more

( Please be careful crossing streets in Albany--not so safe) Ok, the doctor is why I'm here: I moved to this area about a year ago having had years of chiropractic treatment, especially for a neck injured in a bad accident. Dr. Ammirati has done more to help my condition than 15 years of previous treatment.
