I was searching for a chiropractor close to home when I found Mark Dulberg DC. At the time I made my first appointment, I had a lingering, nagging pain in my hip area that wasn't getting better. Dr. Mark is very friendly, kind and patient. His method of diagnosis and treatment is so logical and uncomplicated. He put me through a series of stretches. He explained each step the reasons why so there were no surprises. He gave me exercises to do at home to help myself heal and feel better. I thought I knew how to properly stretch but Dr. Mark showed me simple stretches I hadn't even considered. I felt significant relief from my hip pain the next day. I'll start by saying the front desk lady (I forgot her name) is awesome! She's very kind and knows all the regulars pretty well. Even the first time I went to the office I felt at home with her. Dr Dulberg is also very friendly and made me feel comfortable. I went there because I was having some lower back issues and neck pains. He definitely showed me some helpful stretching exercises and when he cracked my back it did give me some relief. So here's my complaint. I've been to chiropractor's before and I've never seen an office ran like this. He works with several patients at a time, running from room to room and for me it was unsettling. They were super busy so I thought this was a one time experience so I went back, and nope same thing. I was paying out of pocket and the total amount of time that was spent with me with him in the room was about maybe 11 minutes. It just wasn't worth it. Let me start by saying that from the time I booked my appointment to the time I walked in for my 1st appointment and walked out after treatment everyone was so gracious and welcoming. In the past I have not been a fan of Chiropractic work. I had a bad experience some 10 years ago with some back issues that just turned me off to the whole process, but this experience with Dr. Mark has changed my outlook. I went in with some severe upper back pain. Doctor Mark was clear in explaining the process and said it should not take more than a couple of in office treatments before the pain would subside. I saw Dr. Dulberg once. He did not help me. He gave me exercises and I got pictures. I did the exercises but he says I did not remember them and therefore he had to spend more time with me I did not have any difficulty remembering them and he took pictures of me doing them. He said I had to take pictures of him doing them. I don't know why he is lying about what we did in the session. I will never go to him again. And yes, I have an issue with my back and I remember what I'm doing. I just don't know why he cannot be honest about this. It happens that sometimes clients are not well suited for the person they are seeing. I am very sorry I could not get chiropractic relief here as I generally do very well with it. WOW! What can I say? I have known Mark Dulberg through a mutual friend for over 35 years, since he was in Chiropractic college. I always knew he was a fun, warm, friendly, caring person. We kept in touch all those years. He is a Chiropractor and he brought his warm "bed side manners" to his work. I have been utilizing his chiropractic services for many years now. off and on. due to my stressful career in Real Estate which causes muscle tightness in my head, neck, shoulders, upper back. I also have lumbar degeneration condition in my lower back. My nightly hot tub soaks offer some relief however Mark teaches me the significance of using the firm triangle cushion daily under my upper back and lower back for tractioning. He also teaches me strengthening stretching techniques. I like his "old school" style as it works for me. I love being adjusted and feel like a new woman when I walk out the door. I can't recommend this Dr enough!! I've been in PT for quite some time & always felt worst when I'd leave the PT office...Well, just the opposite with Dr Dulberg! I left his office feeling so much better! He told me he's almost sure I'll make a full recovery. I trust his words, why? Because I have proof! First, my back/hip feel much better after leaving the office. 2nd, the exercises he has me doing at home is helping me to walk better& feel less pain in my hip.He explains clearly, how and why I'm doing a exercise which I appreciate, because it helps me understand how to do the exercise correctly. The reason for the four stars instead of five is the location is literally in the right down smack of the ghetto of Richmond. That said is some what scary as a female yet nothing happened and the secretary who speak span English, I am from NYC so it just bring back fun memories and I noticed here in California when you have brown hair and olive skin ( my dad was Italian from Sicily) people automatically think you are Mexican! Lol it's so annoying but hilarious naive...I have even have tough my boys just go alone with it and use their Spanish knowledge to communicate back, any who she is nice, friendly. They have some cool pictures of some back when trips, it was nice to see them. My five stars go to the chiropractor, I have been to a few and someone referred me to him. Again, after seen this small weird area I almost turned around but the reviews here and my friend gave me confidence. Back to the chiropractor ( cool, white Jew) you can still here a little bit of east coast accent. He is great...wait no, he is amazing! His technique is old school and that's what my body needs, I have always gotten adjusted as I believe your body is like a vehicle that needs to be maintained from inside out. How can I get my money back? My boyfriend went there and first they made him wait a long time, when the doctor finally came to see him, he basically asked about the pain, placed a pillow under his back and left again, when he came back he just told him "you need to stretch" and asked him to come back by the end of the week. So we just spent $75 for telling him that he needs to stretch? Google could has told us that for free. If you are not giving a treatment, just don't charge the people. Dr. Dulberg is an excellent chiropractor in practice for the past 30+ years. He uses extension over hard medical pillows prior to doing chiropractic adjustments to relax the surrounding muscles, which makes the adjustments easier. He also teaches each patient various stretches to relax the leg/hip/shoulder muscles that contribute to neck and back pain when tight. Between the exercises, stretches and adjustments, I have experienced a lot less pain! His office is bilingual English/Spanish and both he and his office manager are very friendly. I had been to three chiropractors in the last 4 years, but still had some sharp lower back and neck pain that would come and go. My current MD would write me prescriptions that made me feel out of it. I tried Dr. Dulberg because of some positive online reviews and I'm glad I did. First of all, he made a great first impression because he looked me in the eye, took my history, told me why I was hurting, explained why I wasnt getting better, and told me he could definitely help me if I would follow his recommendations. He explained that it all was from the curves in my neck and low back, and that I wasnt doing enough to stretch them correctly. It turns out everything he told me was exactly right. He explained about Chiropractic Boiphysics, and within 4 visits had me lying on these large firm fulcrums that stretched my in a way that felt fantastic! He would then trigger point the muscles in my neck and back for a few minutes, and I felt so relaxed by then that his popping adjustments were very gentle and painless. I still get mild neck and low back pain now and then, but I use the fulcrum he gave me and exercises he showed me and it all goes away. I have referred several friends to him , and they have had similar results...Plus he speaks spanish! read more

I have had neck and back pain for 5 years on and off, and have seen an MD, Orthopedic specialist, phisical therapist, and accupuncturist. Nothing really helped for more than a few days. Then I got in a rear end car accident and could barely move. I read several excellent reviews for Dr. Dulberg, and so called him for treatment. On my first appointment I could tell he had a friendly personality, and was very patient as he answered all my questions. He explained things so simply that it made perfect sense. He emphasizes the need to stretch the curves in the neck and back with these comfortable cushions he has, and follows that with a handful of stretching exercises that I could feel loosening me up from the first treatments. As I started to feel better after just a few visits, he used bigger rolls to stretch me more aggressively, but only in a way that felt better and better. He spent a few minutes massaging the muscle around my neck and back before doing the traditional neck and back adjustments as well. He would always ask me how I felt to make sure he was not pressing too hard, and I really appreciated that. After about a dozen sessions, I felt better than I had since I first had pain 5 years ago! He gave me a big cushion to use at home now to stretch my neck and low back, and showed me exactly how to use it when I feel tension so I can keep stretching to keep the pain from returning. Working a physical labor type job, i developed some serious back pains that needed to be dealt with. I looked up chiropractors near me and doc dulberg was the first thing that popped up. I called and explained the pains i was experiencing, they said that they could see me the next day. Perfect.. afraid of how hard these sessions would hit my wallet. At this point it didnt matter, something had to be done. I asked the pricing and to my surpise my insurance was accepted here. After a few sessions and stretches to do at home and i felt like a new man. Almost hard to believe that i could get quality work done for such a reasonable price. ESPECIALLY if it isnt from an accident. A lot of chiropractors wont even listen to your story if you arent calling about a car accident that insurance is paying for. Friendly vibes even from the secretary, that always makes the experience that much more pleasant. Note that they only accept cash if im not mistaken.
