I don't know where to begin with how my life has improved under the care of Sound Precision and Dr. Chris (and look forward to seeing Dr. Dom).  I've had instability in my neck/spine/shoulder since my teens, and had come to avoid chiropractors where manual adjustments sometimes made things worse. My boyfriend had been telling me for two years to try Dr. Chris before I finally went and I was so impressed/relieved from the work they do here.  After an initial assessment with x-rays which confirmed issues at the atlas/top vertebrae I had the sound wave adjustment. I have a science background and I couldn't believe that the technology is so effective.  There is no trauma or sudden movement, the work is very gentle and practically hands off with the carefully positioned equipment delivering a sound wave to create the movement internally. The initial adjustment took a couple days to recover entirely, letting the muscles calm down, but since then I have remained far more stable than I had ever been in my life.  I now visit every 4-8 weeks for maintenance and it has been 3 years of reduced pain and even my co-workers notice the improvement. I also want to mention the work the team here does with low level laser therapy for acute issues. I have tried it both for a nerve issue in my jaw and for face collagen improvement and saw results with both. This also led me to try red light therapy - which has helped me immensely with body pain issues. In August 2016, I was in excruciating pain in my right hip. I was training for a 1/2 marathon and got to the point where I couldn't run even 1/2 a mile without tears. I was introduced to Ball Chiropractic by my sister. I made my first appointment and met with Carol Ball. She was so kind, encouraging and honest. She took a look at my balance and took a few xrays. Dr Carol thoroughly explained how the treatments work. Atlas treatments are not your typical chiropractic work. You will not have your neck or back cracked, which appealed to me. I scheduled an appointment the next day to get going on my treatment. I immediately started feeling better after my first treatment. I continued on with one appointment per week for a few weeks and am now at once every three or so weeks. I have zero pain left in my hip. I had no idea that such a painless treatment could solve a problem that was so painful. Instead of seeing a physician and being treated by muscle and pain relaxers, this treatment has actually worked. The treatment is gentle and effective, and the Dr. is highly skilled and knowledgable. For me, the point is to go to a chiropractor as I need, not to have to go all the time. Law enforcement and back problems almost go hand in hand. I was referred here by several coworkers who are routine clients after I tweaked my back . I've never been to a chiropractor before and I figured it'd be a good idea to start now before it's too late. There is street parking in front and a small parking lot in the back. The entrance is located in the back as well. Inside is very clean and has a nice waiting room with chiropractic information on the walls. There's also a few toys to keep kids busy. Making an appointment was quick and easy. It was also nice they accept my insurance carrier. I made an appointment with Dr. Chris. First step was coming in , getting my X-rays to see what was going on in my back (pretty much my back was all kinds of messed up). After locating the issues , Dr. Chris was able to make the proper adjustments to make me feel good as new. He is very professional , friendly, answers any questions you might have and talks you through everything he is doing. I've been seen by Dr. Ball as well when Dr. Chris was unavailable and she's just as great! Since my first visit, I have been several times making it a routine to come every 3 months even if back is not bothering me. He's given me countless tips to improve my overall health and I always leave feeling great. I'm a hiker and each hike these days I am overwhelmed with gratitude that I am walking normally. Last August I was limping badly and barely able to climb stairs. I was diagnosed with arthritis in my knee--I'm in my 70s--and I feared that was it for me. PT (at East Bay Physical Therapy) helped a lot, but it was not enough and the surgeon signed me up for injections to lubricate the knee. I told Dr. Chris Nizer on my next chiropratic visit, and he confirmed what I had read that the injections wore off after x months and had to be done again. He said he had a new method called cold laser that he'd had good results with, leading to full recovery for various such complaints. I postponed the injection to give it a try. After about 5 applications, my pain was gone. This was some weeks ago and it has not come back. I'm doing the cold laser now for my arthritic thumb, which has been a problem longer. It's not doing its magic yet. If it does I'll come back here to sing its praises. One thing I've learned is that with lots of regular and alternative medical interventions, you may never know how much was the placebo effect. And for that effect to work, at least with me, it doesn't much matter if I believe in the intervention, it matters that the practitioner does, with full intelligence, sincerity, transparent honesty, and empathy. I did the cold laser because I know from experience over some years that Dr. Chris Nizer has those qualities. Dr Chris Nizer at Ball Chiropractic has helped my peripheral neuropathy a lot! I have had tingling and some numbness in my feet, legs, and hands since September 2019. I was seen by a Kaiser neurologist who ordered blood tests, nerve tests and an MRI, but no underlying cause was found. In March 2020 Dr Nizer was recommended to me by my acupuncturist, Elene Chiang. Dr Nizer had me fill out a detailed history of my symptoms, he explained what the Atlas realignment treatment is (it is very gentle), and I tried it. From doubt to trust, as a new mom. Had lower back pain after my lo was born. And I fount Dr Carol on Yelp. She was patient and knowledgable. It was hard to believe that sound-wave could cure back pain at first. Plus, she told me I needed 20 treatment which shocked and scared me. After seeking for advice in multiple ways, I decided to give it a try. After couple treatments, I magically felt much better. I still need to carry my baby around, but my pain was much better and it self-healed much faster if there is any pain. Dr Carol also shared with me lots of things about new mom and baby, recommended me facebook groups and books about parenting. I spent about three months under his care and I couldn't be more grateful to have him on my team during a very difficult time. If you have Medicare, don't waste your time. On 11/4, I sent an email, asking if they accepted Medicare. On 11/7, they replied and said yes. I was excited and happy about that. I called the office and spoke with someone, whom could give me info on the portion I will have to pay. I received a call back from someone else informing me that they don't take Medicare at all! Of course, now I'm upset. I sent another email informing them about their lack of internal communication. I feel that every employee needs to know that info before they respond to an email with the incorrect info. That is so very unprofessional. I still would've made an appointment and paid cash. Because of this unprofessionalism, I found an awesome chiropractor, that I used years ago, and she was a miracle worker. The only problem was that I was looking for someone closer in my area. I found out I have this bone in my neck called an Atlas bone! Apparently, it was out of longitude and latitude. My arms were going numb, I wasn't sleeping at all, Dr. Chris was fantastic! I really like this practice! I am gunshy about doctors at first, and super critical and will scrutinize things because of this in the beginning of any unchartered territory, or just because its another part of getting older, and I'm a pain in the ass! Finally found an awesome Chiro... In April I felt tingling on my thb, forefinger & middle from my neck radiating to my left arm. Consulted several Chiro---had three adjustments in SF; neck decompression in Palo Alto; $3K outright payment for future Chiro services in Sunnyvale, which I could not afford; Gonstead technique in Fremont. One of them recommended neck pillow. When I bought one online I accidentally read in one of the product reviews how Atlas Orthogonal helped. I was ecstatic to find Ball Chiropractor. Called, made an appointment & availed their great Yelp discount. In spite my apprehension with regard to its cost, I was excited for my initial consultation. This review is for both Dr. Joe and Dr. Carol. I've worked with both. I started to go to Ball Chiropractic Center in 2011 about a year after my 2nd spine surgery. My case is complicated, but they handled it with ease. The Atlas Orthogonal approach to chiropractic care has been extremely beneficial for me. When I started out I came to see them several times a week (which is typical if you've never seen a chiropractor or have a complicated case). Within several months their care had me down to once every two weeks. Also, I don't live close. I've driven between 35 and 45 miles to see them each visit. Each adjustment has relieved pain and discomfort. I went from going on slow walks and short bike rides to hiking 7 to 8 miles on hilly terrain and taking speed walks (14 minute miles) with my high energy dog. Dr. Joe and Carol are not just technical proficient chiropractors, they are gifted healing professionals who deeply care about their patients. When my son was born last month, we took him to see Dr. Carol being only 2 weeks old. That is the level of trust I have for them!
