Regular migraines started with me with peri-menopause and after I experienced one vestibular migraine I was on the hunt to figure out how to stave those off. Enter Onsight Chiropractic! I was pleased to find that Onsight also accepted my insurance. Dr. Jas has been a huge asset in realignment, targeted muscle work, and even a round of cupping which I found hugely beneficial. She is kind, hugely knowledgeable, listens deeply to all your issues, and is fully invested in your care and recovery. In addition to working to stave off migraines, the overall benefit is helping counteract the hours of sitting at a computer all day, working. I have not experienced another vestibular migraine since starting care with Dr. Jas. There are lots of factors at play with migraine, and I've also adjusted my nutrition and exercise routine to help mitigate them. Also, sleep! Sleep is key. Chiropractic care is now part of my routine to stave off migraines. I appreciate that all the practitioners here come from a sports background and all the methods feel grounded in sports medicine and therapy. I chose to do it in their office. Then they said, if I had filled out the paperwork at home, they would have told me that I was not covered. When I arrived, after I was seen by Dr. Bath, they told me that my type of insurance was NOT covered without a referral beforehand. But they NEVER told me before I came in, that I had to get a referral, in order to be financially covered. If I had known I was not covered. I NEVER would have come in. I paid $180 out of pocket. And now, in 11/26, I received an explanation of benefits from American Specialty saying that the chiropractic office was given an additional write-off of $161.00...based on old coverage of mine. I called American Specialty and they are sending the claim back. But of course I will not get the money I paid back! Onsight chiropractic is dishonest, uncompassionate and if you go there, make sure you know what you are getting into.

In fact, that may be your bag. But with the fragile artwork that is my skeleton, I'm happy that Dr. Kerry is using a more advanced technique that resembles acupuncture: this handheld machine rapidly presses against the tissue/ligaments and helps them shift back into place... I think. That is my best attempt at describing the process. But afterwards I feel good- and that is the point. I'm lugging around an infant these days, which makes everything ache, so I'm particularly grateful for anybody who can help me get back in alignment. And encourages me to stay face down for 5 minutes at the end of the treatment to just "have a moment". She is also terrifically witty and empathic. The thing I like best about this style of chiropractic treatment, ART, is that there is an emphasis on healing in just a visit or two if possible and teaching you how to manage the injury or weakness through taping and/or exercises. This visit was for knee pain, some related to IT band tightness. Jess did some deep tissue work on the IT band with a pain-relieving lotion then did cupping with a little Chinese cupping therapy kit. With the cups in place she moved my leg in a way it wasn't able to move before she began the treatment because it was too painful. She explained that how she was using them was different than Chinese medicine because she wasn't using meridians. The cupping looked really freaky. Big disks of my skin were sucked up into the cups and the skin turned reddish purple. It can leave round bruises but I didn't get any. She slid the cups around a little with the aid of the lotion on my skin. She told me that I could purchase an inexpensive kit online and treat myself with the cups. I found a small one for about $15 and it has helped a lot. She also put two lengths of spider tech kinesiology tape around my knee to stabilize it. I've tried to replicate this at home though it is hard to get in the same exact spot but I think it has helped some anyway. She also suggested biking to strengthen my quadriceps. In any case, one visit with helpful suggestions and my knee is on the way to better when healing had been stuck. Highly recommended.
