Dr Segool has seen myself and my husband for emergency appointments. He was great and got us rigHt in. One of my favorite perks of this optometrist office is that they have the computerized machine that x-rays your eyes versus getting them dilated. Extra plus for me since I am allergic to preservatives in my eyes but always had to suck it up, prior to finding Dr. Segool. Both receptionists are great! Very helpful! Without asking, one of them looked up my name in random vision plans and discovered I have a very good vision plan that my husband, who carries the insurance, failed to tell me about. Saved us lots of money. I have also purchased glasses elsewhere in the past and took them to Dr. Segool who had the lenses put in for me. My very A-D-D son was taught how to wear contacts here. I had been wearing my "weekly disposable" soft contact lenses for so long they were practically frayed at the edges, so I finally started the process of looking for Optometrists that took my vision plan (VSP). Based on some of the reviews on here, I was prepared to have a Clockwork Orange experience, but I totally lucked out by picking Dr. Segool. They asked if I needed a appointment for new contacts, and got me in as soon as I could schedule it - no blindness or bleeding eyeballs necessary! They did a full check-up for Rx, peripheral vision, glaucoma/cataracts, including this cool machine that takes a picture of your retina. Dr Segool took the time to explain the various images and patiently answered all of my questions. They have a lot of contact Rxs on-site (I needed to order mine, but they got to my house in under a week) and they told me about a rebate program for $100 off if I ordered a year's worth. They also have a good-looking selection of fashion frames, if you were looking for glasses. Overall, excellent service form the office staff, really professional and friendly service from the doctor and they take VSP. Dr. Segool is my optometrist from now on. read more

Nice place, nice doctor and friendly staff. They do the optomap which is a great alternative to having your eyes dilated! (It takes a picture of the back of your eye and you get to see it too, very exciting!) I don't know how much of a glasses selection they have since I wasn't buying frames but from what I saw in the waiting area, it didn't look like a lot. I took my 5 year old daughter here for her first eye exam after she failed site checks at her annual pediatric check-up. Was a bit hesitant as many optometrists say they accept children but are not patient enough or equipped to address the unique needs of a child. I can without hesitation recommend Dr. Segool and his lovely staff to anyone looking to have their childrens eyes examined. They showed great patience with my 5 year old who came a bit unhinged when some drops were needed; they dealt with it calmly, professionally and did not make her feel the slightest bit uncomfortable. They were nice enough to do some additional research for available glasses that were not in stock for my daughter who is a bit pickier than average. A note on their machines / hardware - I've personally been wearing glasses / contacts since I was 8 years old and this is the cleanest and most technically up to date office I have seen. The quality of machinery and technology are definitely in tune with the Apple generation. I'm so pleased with the experience that I'll be changing eye Dr's to see Dr. Segool at my next appointment. read more

Fantastic doctor and friendly receptionist that is very helpful. I had an extremely painful corneal erosion happen. Rather than run to the emergency room, I called the office at 9am and was in the chair being taken care of by 9:15. Dr Segool was great and so helpful. A few days later I was able to get an appointment with a corneal specialist. They completely agreed with Dr Segool's treatment plan and continued with it. With my eye issue also came blurred vision that required me to start wearing glasses immediately. I walked out of Dr Segool's office with glasses on that day. 2 days later my prescription sunglasses were done (frames I previously had). Affordable prices for glasses and sunglasses. Large selection of eyeglasses to chose from. Nice, clean, comfortable office. Modern, equipment- fancy X-ray machine Great with children I also take my two children there - he is great with kids. My daughter was wanted wanted glasses, was clearly faking the answers - Dr Segool new exactly how to deal with her and get her to tell the truth. read more

I've been to maybe 7 places for eye exams and this place was by far the best. Dr. Segool uses modern equipment and was happy to answer all of my annoying questions and even sent me a link to a medical journal article that came up during our discussion. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. They don't pressure sell you with discounts on ridiculously marked up lenses like some other expensive places (*cough* LensCrafters *cough*) * On one visit they helped me pick out a frame I liked which was later even approved by my girlfriend (the ultimate style test). * On another visit they made arrangements to let me pick up my lenses after hours because I needed them urgently and couldn't get there during the day because work + 128 traffic. * Another time I ordered lenses and then had to move temporarily to another state for work and it took me about 8 months to get back there to pick up the lenses and they were ready to go when I got there. I was a customer for 3+ years (maybe more like 5?). Sadly I'm living in Boston now so I have to find something closer. read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. NOT PROFESSIONAL AT ALL. NOT AT ALL. If I could give no star, I would. This place doesn't even deserve 1 star. I went in and expected a more thorough eye exam. And instead the doctor only spend less than I don't know maybe 5 mins examing my eyes. Many questions were asked by me but not many answers were given. What kind of a place was that? I certainly felt like it was a wasted visit since my insurance only cover once an year with ophthalmologist. I really wonder what his qualifications are. Now let talk about the so called receptionist. She was so rude to me. She never said hi or greetings at any kind. I don't know what her issue is. I walked in and there was another guy came in behind me. She totally ignored me. But she kept on talking and answering with the man. Like I was invisible. Hellooooo, I was there first. I also had questions regarding the glasses for her and she didn't even want to talk to me. And at the end of the visit when I was paying, she again was talking to some others customers while I was there waiting to pay her. It was like she was so nice and talkative with others but just not me. She was greetings every one but me. I have done nothing to her and i don't deserve this kind of attitudes. Went there for the first time to try out contacts, was sent back and forth for over 3 months! Still did not have the prescription correct. They said i needed a specific kind which was $$$$ so they ordered it for me to try out, months go by and i kept calling and said they sometimes take awhile. After the third month i call and complain because it shouldnt take 3 months to get trial contacts. They said oh we already finalized your prescription which was not the custom one they ordered, they said one of the many different trials they sent me home with was what the doctor prescribed. The prescription is not correct. Screw going back there. I went to a random Lenscrafters, took 15 minutes and walked out with my CORRECT prescription which is much less inexpensive and i can finally see again! Would not recommend this place. read more

This is an average place - nothing great. Dr. Segool did routine eye tests for me and my wife. We wanted to get clarification on lenses for my wife and he didnt do a good job helping us understand what she needs. We ended up not getting anything. I also questioned his staff on how they issued different charges to insurance company for two identical exams. Not quite sure if her response was true. When my old glasses suddenly got a huge crack in them, I needed to see an eye doctor right away. I had recently moved away from the town that my old eye doctor was located in and was looking for a change. I called up a bunch of doctors in my area trying to get an appointment as soon as possible. Dr. Segool was the 4th doctor I called and he really should have been my first choice! He was the only doctor that I called that offered to squeeze me in the very next day. His office staff are all so nice and understanding. Very friendly too. They had no problems taking my insurance (Davis vision) and I was a very happy customer. More recently, I went to the beach and totally forgot I had my glasses on my face! Well, I went into the water and a huge wave knocked them right off and thusly they were lost forever. I called Dr. Segool after my day at the beach and Ann (one of the office staff) told me to come in right away and they would try and work something out. At the very minimum they could at least get me a pair of contacts so that I wouldn't have to drive home without my vision. I went to the office and she told me that because I had just gotten my glasses, I couldn't get another pair through my insurance. I knew this already and figured that this would be the case. But she said that Dr. Segool would help me out in anyway that he could. I ended up getting new glasses but Dr. Segool was nice enough to let me have the frames free of charge! All I had to pay for was the lenses which was great! I was expecting to have to pay the full price. He also said that he would try and rush the order for me so that I wouldn't have to wait as long. And lastly, I still really couldn't afford to pay for the glasses altogether so Dr. Segool offered to do a payment plan. What exceptional customer service! I never had any problems with Dr. Segool before and liked him during my check-ups but this recent visit just bumped him up in my book. I know now that I will never have to look for another eye doctor again because I will stay with Dr. Segool! read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Segool for many years. The team at the office, located right off Route 95/128 at Winn Street, is professional and friendly. There are so many frames to choose from and, during the exam, the Doctor takes time to explain the results of all tests. I find him the very best optometrist I have ever been to and now, even as I moved to Cape Cod, I drive up there for my yearly exam. I would recommend this practice 100%. I and my wife had regular eye exams here in Nov 2012. We both had excellent experience. Dr Segool was thorough in all the tests and took pains to explain different aspects of vision. He even made extensive tests for my color blindness to detect exactly what type it is (something rarely done by other doctors).The test are lengthy (lasting about an hour) but that's expected given the thorough nature of the tests. I am with a new employer and wanted to find an optometrist in my network. After looking through some reviews I chose Dr. Segool. He as an excellent choice as he took time to work with me to get things right. I was afraid of going to a chain that would get my prescription good, sell me a pair of glasses and send me on my way. I wanted to try contact lenses and because of an astigmatism am a hard guy to fit. He tried out a couple of lenses he had in stock but suggested he take time to order something he thought would work better. When those came in, I tried multiple lenses and took them home to try during the week. I went back again and we redid vision tests with lenses that fit the best. This is a lot of work on his part to get things right which is exactly what I needed and I doubt the chains would have been willing to do for me. read more

Dr. Segool is a fantastic Optometrist and is very thorough with his examination and questions. I have had multiple symptoms related to my thyroid that I never knew my eyes could tell. When Dr. Segool could tell from my eye exam that something was going on with my thyroid, I couldn't believe it. He explained everything and showed me what he was seeing. He also suggested that I ask my doctor about another issue that I might have. I won't go anywhere else, he is extremely knowledgeable and most importantly he listens. The woman that handles the front desk is so pleasant and friendly. And I agree with some of the other reviews that there is never any pressure in selling you stuff. Dr. Segool gave me a new contact lens and said to try them out for awhile before ordering them so that I can make sure that they are going to be a good fit. He mentioned a rebate and asked if I would like a copy of my prescriptions, but I said no because I would just order my contacts and glasses through them. I highly recommend! read more

I have repeated tried to reach someone in the office only to reach a machine during business hours. Billing wasn't properly explained and calls are never returned. Whenever I have gone to the office they are never busy, I dont understand how noone can answer the phone!! read more

Awful. After he gave me the incorrect prescription in both glasses and contacts multiple times, I had to find another doctor and pay for another exam to get it right. He rushed through exam, did not explain anything to me, and was very careless. One of his prescriptions had typos in it that I had to catch myself! (Did not end up mattering, because what he gave me was still wrong.) Also, HUGE pressure to buy contacts and glasses there, and he gave me an attitude when I said I could get them much cheaper elsewhere. Save yourself the headache and find another doctor! read more
