My daughter had a minor accident and I had trouble finding an optometry that can see her same or next day. I saw Wakefield Eye Associates posting "accepting new patient" on a community Facebook page and I decided to give them a ring. The receptionist is unbelievably nice and was able to answered all my concerning questions. And booked an appointment next day! Dr Grimm is gentle and took all the time we needed. He did not rush at all and a plus, he also gave my kid a quick eye exam (and happy to hear that her vision is still 20/20!). Polite, friendly staff really make a huge difference! The shop is conveniently located near the Wakefield commuter line (8 mins walk) and bus 137 is also nearby. read more

Excellent customer service and professional Eye doctors. I need an eye exam for registry and every other place i called wanted to charge me xtra the registry part of exam. Not only did they not charge for that they did. Full exam for only my deductible and filled out all the paper work i needed. And no up sale at all and trying to get me to buy new glasses. This place was really great. I wish I found it sooner! It's located right in the center of Wakefield - while parking can be tricky at times, there's plenty of it, and also a really nice area just to walk in general. The doctor was super nice and took the time to get to know me, listen to my concerns, and see what was going on. The receptionist was friendly and despite COVID, many precautions were taken and I felt very comfortable, even trying on some glasses in a safe and sanitized way! Good selection of glasses and sunglasses, friendly staff, and it was really easy to schedule an appointment quickly. I will definitely be back and will be telling all my friends. I recently visited this store to have an eye exam and get contacts. I have UHC insurance for both medical and vision. At the time, they told me they do take UHC. What they failed to tell me was that they only take the medical insurance, not vision. I ended up shelling out $205 instead of the $10 I would have paid for a copay under my vision policy. I was desperate for contacts so I had no choice but to buy 2 boxes at the time. Now, since I've used my benefit for the year, the only way I can get 2 more boxes of contacts to last me the year is to pay out of pocket. I do not recommend this office for an eye exam as they are not upfront and could cost you money. read more

Since I moved from Los Angeles back in 1993, Dr Beaulieu has been taking care of my eyes. Back in the dark ages of eye technology, people with my extremely high myopic and astigmatism prescription had to wear glasses on top of contacts. Dr Beaulieu went out of his way to work with a lens lab to custom make me contacts that will fulfill the needs of the prescription. AWESOME POSSUM! Then he had to fit me 3 times to get it perfect, and each time he did not charge me. Where will you find someone like that nowadays that is not always counting every penny? All i have to say is, I will be seeing Dr Beaulieu for the rest of my earthy years as I know he will have my best interest at heart, and I will receive top notch care! read more

Recently moved to the area, not knowing where might be a good place to go, I picked a place that's close by. The visit was a different experience than what I have had. After the eye exam, they asked me to bring in my current contacts and glasses before they can actually proceed, which was weird. Called the office staff to inquire some questions but the staff was clueless and couldn't provide any info. Finally, when I picked up the contacts, I asked if I could have 1 travel size contacts solution since I travel quite a bit (my other provider would always pack that with my contacts without me even asking when I pick up the supply) and they staff told me" we don't have those" and yet they're located on the other wall... read more

I have been going here for years, and when I came on the yelp page I couldn't fathom bad reviews! I love this place!! The doctor is so kind, helpful, and even jots down little notes about your life so he can ask how everything is going. Reception is always quick and I never wait more than 5 minutes to be called it the exam room. I would definitely recommend to a friend. read more

I went for an eye exam for a new pair of glasses. Staff was ok. I was given a prescription that EXPIRES IN 1 YEAR for EYEGLASSES. Most places give you a prescription that expires in 2 YEARS for eyeglasses. Insurance only pays for an eye exam every 2 years? read more

I made a yelp account to write a review, didnt even get past the first phone call. I called aquiring about making an exam, i have not been nor gotten an exam since 2011, and also not here. When I asked about dilating pupils for exams, rudely was told the dr does not do that and takes a picture of your eye instead, unless.... he needs to dilate. So i, having no idea what this picture business is, ask a normal newbie question how it works... and was just cut off and was asked again do you want to make an appointment or no. Well then, i ask again i have not ever heard about this picture thing and want to know more about it, do you have ppl come back with issues after using this new method. She said, im not a dr. Do you want to make an appointment or not. Well jeeze.. i work in hospitality and you havin' a bad day girl? You dont take it out on potential patients that dont know anything about how this works, and im asking common knowledge questions of a receptionist if she sees come backs or not, or if its reliable. Once again rudely cut of and asked do i want to make an appointment or not. after her rude answers (not even the whole conversation) i said ill have to call you back. She hung up on me. TERRIBLE costumer service and a representative of this business... i will never go there. Called lense crafters in stoneham and was told without even asking what the process is in DETAIL! They got my business. Please be warey of staff that is not good for costumer service. Ive never been so disrepected as a consumer client patient or anything! No excuse.
