I have never been to a dental office where the technical staff greeting you doesn't know what procedure you're actually getting and starts communicating something else completely, and this has been multiple times. You constantly need to be your own advocate each visit to make sure they do not take advantage of you. One example is that I was misled in pricing for a procedure after talking to multiple staff and providing insurance information and signing off on it. On the day of the actual procedure another staff member then told me it's 1,000 cheaper than what was expecting. Apparently no one bothered to apply insurance benefits until the morning of. I give them the benefit of the doubt but I honestly feel cannot recommend this place. They are also constantly booked so follow up appointments will always be pushed back due to scheduling. They are blessed to be in the location that they are but they unfortunately do not respectfully serve the community and give customers the care and treatment they deserve. Also bed side manner is simply not there, generally patients asking a question or clarification is a huge inconvenience for the dentist.

I underwent a periodontal procedure here that was one of the most traumatic healthcare experiences I have ever had. Throughout the procedure, I was visibly in pain, crying, and experiencing significant anxiety. Despite repeatedly expressing my discomfort, I felt that my pain was not adequately addressed, and the procedure continued. During treatment, I was told I was causing the provider to fall behind schedule because I was struggling to remain still. I was also reprimanded for breathing through my mouth and told I was exposing the dental team to nitrous oxide. Near the end of the procedure, I was warned that if I moved, a "very large needle" could go somewhere it should not, which only increased my fear while I was already distressed. I also sustained an injury to my tongue during the procedure. Following treatment, I experienced ongoing jaw and ear pain and never received a follow-up call from the office to check on my recovery. I brought my concerns to the practice and requested that they review what had occurred. I also disputed the charges with CareCredit, which ultimately reversed the charges after reviewing the documentation I submitted. Despite knowing the details of my experience and despite my ongoing concerns, the practice has continued to support the provider involved and has now referred the disputed balance to a collection agency. Instead of working with me to resolve what I believe were legitimate concerns about my care, I have been left to defend myself while continuing to deal with the physical and emotional effects of this experience. Patients deserve to be treated with compassion, respect, and appropriate pain management--especially during surgical procedures. Based on my experience, I did not receive that level of care.

However, they require x-rays before cleaning. I have had my teeth clean many many times over the years. Last check up was two years ago but last cleaning was 18 months ago at a different location. No one has ever required that I have X-ray before a cleaning. I have had yearly check-ups before at a different dental facility that asked me to sign a waiver for the service but none that ever mandated that service could not be provided without X-rays, so I just had to leave. My dental records at Dr. Williams's office date back to 1988 when I was five years old! That's why…read moreI keep making the trek from central Austin to come here for cleanings and what ails me. So far Dr. Williams has successfully extracted four of my teeth. Yesterday, it was a tricky old Wisdom tooth who was trying to push my lower Left molars forward, and giving me all sorts of grief. Usually in a situation like the one I had yesterday, I would go under for such a tricky little surgery, and that, my friend, would have been pricey. Instead, I probably saved hundreds of dollars having the tooth extracted while I was awake. The best news is it wasn't so bad,because Scott Williams and his staff know what the heck they are doing. Aside from a little extra drilling and cracking noises that I could hear on my end, the extraction wasn't so different from the rest. I was prescribed Valium to take the night before and morning of the surgery to calm my nerves. When I arrived at the office I was quickly seated in the back room for shots. Dr. Williams, as usual, set me up with music and plentiful laughing gas while he gave me those terrible shots. That you have to have before surgery. If you have to have shots, gas makes it a lot easier. I wouldn't say the surgery was fun, but I certainly didn't feel like a huge wisdom tooth was being scooped out from under a molar and extracted from my head! I wouldn't say I feel like running a marathon right now, but things could be worse than having a sore mouth and a puffy cheek. He made sure to send me home with a prescription for some heavy pain killers so that I can enjoy myself while lying around the house watching movies this weekend as much as possible. If you're looking for a no-nonsense dentist with 32 years of experience, I recommend Scott Williams. He'll take care of you, and he won't push you in to unnecessary cosmetic dental work!

After it was over and he handed me the mirror I couldn't believe my eyes. My tooth looked PERFECT!! Later he even cosmetically corrected my other front teeth by smoothing the rough edges.
