I readily admit to being anxious about visiting any dentist. I have had numerous painful experiences in dental offices through the years. When we moved to Georgetown, I spent a lot of time reading reviews and even visiting dental offices before deciding which one I thought would make my dental visits less dreaded. My husband had already chosen a dental practice he thought would be good so I agreed to get my teeth cleaned there. The practice he chose had not been at the very top of my list but had been acceptable. Just my interaction with the hygienist assigned to me on my first visit was enough for me to know this was not the practice for me When I explained about my previous painful experiences and my apprehension about even having my teeth cleaned, her response was, "Well, this IS a dental practice. EVERYthing is going to be uncomfortable." I decided not to proceed with the appointment and left. I went back to the research I had done. RR Dentistry had lots of very good reviews and their web site emphasized "patient comfort" so that was where I chose to make an appointment. It was the right decision. I could not be happier with my choice. Every member of their staff from the New Patient Coordinator (Susie) to the dentist (Dr. Cory Roach) to his assistant (Lisa) was both friendly and competent . Everyone put me at ease. Dr. Roach was thorough and gentle as he performed an extensive examination of my teeth and mouth. His assistant (Lisa) was also very kind and compassionate. The hygienist who cleaned my teeth (Pam) did so with zero pain. I feel much better about future appointments now that I have found a dental practice whose staff truly is concerned with patient comfort as well as excellent dental care. read more

I recently had a routine dental cleaning done by Angela, RDH, and an exam by Dr. Mark Kupec, DDS. We talked about some recent health issues, and the care they provided me was with compassion and kindness. I left the clinic feeling genuinely cared for and not just a patient. Dr Smith works two days a week - I was told he likes to fish. Even on the days he is there, though, he doesn't want to stay a minute longer than he has to. On my last visit (and it will have been my last visit), he was doing some fillings. Neither he nor his assistant remembered to put glasses on me. So he's drilling and spraying water in my mouth, and it was spraying all over my face and in my eyes. And I kept trying to get their attention, like "Gugh, gugh!," but he said, "hang on, I'm almost done," So finally, he stopped to get another tool and I managed to ask, can I have some glasses? He turned back and said to his assistant, "you didn't give her glasses?" And went back to work. When he finished, he sorted of saw that my face was all wet, but he just said, "ok, we'll see you next time." And while the assistant was making my next appointment, I looked out the window and saw him striding to his truck. I guess I was his last appointment for the day. I was just astounded at how rude and abrupt he was, like I wasn't a person, just a mouth to be fixed. I hope the fish were worth it - he lost a patient in me. read more

This place is creepy and comes across very snobby. I'm looking for a new dentist and upon calling I speak to the "new patient coordinator", i.e. gatekeeper. After being asked "what is your story" and her stating that "everyone has a story", I realized I was being vetted and not so subtly being warned to stay away if you can't afford us. She was quick to point out that the practice is private and that insurance doesn't play a role in what they decide is the needed procedure. Translation; your money is no object and we don't do HMO medicine. And if you're lucky your PPO might cover a few things, otherwise you pay everything at who knows what costs. Other reviews state that they have in-house financing which sounds like high-end car sales to me. Had she backed all this up with a decent value statement I may have continued to listen but I was too turned off by this time. They may do great work but I'm not paying for the attitude that goes with it. read more

First I will say I found this office because I I was looking for a practice that used a laser for hygiene appointments. The bonus is this office also does the same program I have been doing for some breathing issues with my last dentist in Idaho. Double bonus!! I loved everything about my experience. Susie in the front office is the perfect person for this position. She make you feel welcomed and the entire team knew all of my history and concerns. Dr. Roberson was informative and addressed all my concerns and gave me options. Considering my husband is a retired dentist and I managed the office for 14 yrs, this team was just that - a team working for the best well rounded care I could ask for!! Dr Roach and the staff at RR Dentistry have been taking excellent care of my teeth for over 7 years...routine cleanings, fillings, crown replacement, Invisalign care. Had my first dental office teeth whitening procedure today l. Took about 1.5 hours with 4 rounds of treatment. Super care and concern for my comfort throughout the whitening process. First let me say, I am not easy on my doctors or my dentist. I am perfectly capable of trying the patience of God Almighty! I worked in the Medical field and as an inspector for years. Dr Roberson and his staff are the best I have found so far and I've had highly trained dentists all over the world. More recently, my last one was the dentist to Miss California. Dr. Roberson has an exceptional ability to understand difficult medical issues. He is highly educated and trained and demands the same from his assistants and staff. Mention the latest findings from medical publications on whatever medical issue and he already knows all about it and can give you an update! Now retired, I was a worksite inspector and Medical Quality Assurance person for Pathology at a hospital in Honolulu. I don't miss anything. They are meticulous about their work place and reception/ waiting area and very advanced in their technique. Pleasant and kind is not good enough for me. They have to be advanced in their thinking and training and medically aware of what to do with cancer patients, handicapped persons, and medical and emotionally challenged people. I have inspected the office and work areas and they are immaculate and the ambiance is very pleasant and attractive...and very soothing. I learned a great deal about my teeth and gums just sitting in their waiting room and watching a video. Their patient's health and wellness and dental education is always their priority. Currently, I am losing all my fillings put in years ago and they have been fair with the price, extremely careful with me, and spend time every visit explaining everything they will do that day. Emma, Dr. Roberson's assistant, actually is one of the few I can actually say has the ability to stay ahead of Dr. Roberson. Good luck on that as he is very fast and I'm in and out of the chair in no time. Emma is intuitive ( a rare quality) and watches her patients very closely and talks quietly with them. She is excellent! I can't think of a member of the RR family that has ever been anything but excellent. Susie and Rhonda are friendly, quick, alert and from day one greet you as you arrive and always ask how the family is. When I pay my bill, there is no running back to the dentist for clarification while you wait! I have a love- hate relationship with dental hygienists. I have been scheduled with more than one hygienist at RR Dentistry, and each one did a marvelous job. Totally painless, I now look forward to getting my teeth cleaned. Some years back and trying to save money after a very expensive move, I went to a highly recommended dentist in Salt Lake to have my metal fillings removed. In removing and putting in new white fillings, it took my dentist nearly 8 hours and he broke the cartilage in my jaw on both sides. I was new to the area and I saved a few bucks, but ended up with painful, multi decade long injuries. Because of my blood cancer, I have spent time reading everything I can about how to live better and longer and took very expensive training in La Jolla, California. The concern about the proven relationship between poor dental health and pancreas cancer, heart problems, and Alzheimers, is now well publicized and has many people's attention. Dr. Roberson and staff are very aware of dental problems and health issues and watch me very closely. Each visit, they inspect my mouth, ask health questions and carefully note even the slightest change in my teeth or tissues. RR Dentistry has it all. If you are looking for a high end experience at a reasonable price by extremely well educated, pleasant people, then give RR Dentistry a chance to solve your dental problems and possibly your health problems. Dr. Roberson is my dental hero. I have nightmare dental stories which have traumatized me since a child. Dr. Roberson and his staff were well aware of my discomfort prior to arriving for a filling, and they went above and beyond to ease my mind. I would never expect the level of attentiveness and concern that Dr. Robinson and his staff provided, but it was appreciated more than I could convey. I'm on the lookout for a new Dentist so I found these folks in the local Georgetown View Magazine & thought I'd give them a try. Well that will not be happening! They actually declined to see me after a phone interview (LMAO)!!!!! I won't bore you with the details but will tell you if you don't need lots of work done (I already spent thousands on dental at my favorite dentist from San Antonio when I used to live there) they don't want you as a patient. They also bill out of network (they actually told me that)even if they accept your insurance. It's how they get the most money out of you. I'm actually great full for the quirky phone interview they made me do it saved me a lot of pain and heartache down the road. There are lots of dentist out there that take advantage of people. I went to this dentist for several years prior. Never again will anyone from my family go here. I've never had a cavity in my life and believe X-rays are unnecessary exposure to radiation when there are no issues. I have no problem with getting x-rays if they are medically needed, but I believe dental x-rays are overused to increase billing. Studies have shown that getting frequent dental X-rays increases the risk for a common brain tumor. If the radiation level was perfectly safe as claimed, the person doing the X-ray wouldn't go into a different room. During this visit the hygienist attempted to take X-rays and refused to take no for an answer. After asking for X-rays twice she became visibly frustrated and left. She returned and asked again, and I politely declined a third time. Apparently offended, she then said that they would not be able to continue with the routine cleaning or to be my dental provider. Given the harassment and high-pressure tactics, I had already decided to go somewhere else. I'd gladly pay double for an ethical dentist that does not harass patients over Xrays. Clearly Xrays increase the profit for each visit and if that's spread over a dental practice the owner can make his boat or Miata payment (there's one in the parking lot here). Trying to coerce a patient by withholding cleaning services as the client is sitting in the chair is unethical at best in my opinion. This policy was never disclosed previously in 5 years. I took off work during the day for this appointment and was refused cleaning service once I'm sitting in the chair. This is the first review I've ever posted but this experience warranted the effort. Based on my experience, I think this dentist would radiate people until they glow if it makes them more money. read more

My situation is a more complex one than most. I'm 38 with an autoimmune disease and it has done severe damage to my teeth. Dr. Roberson examined me and told me my best options and what I could do to get to the best oral health possible. I've NEVER had a good experience with a dentist b/c of my history, and this changed when I came to this practice. The entire team is amazing and make you feel at home. I love RR Dentistry and Dr. Roberson! Been going here for over a year now, and so pleased with the level of care and quality of work. Last year I had some scary teeth issues that they straightened out for me (no pun intended!) I don't have dental insurance so they are always careful to go over costs with me and see what works best for my mouth-health/budget. And, superficially speaking, they have a gorgeous office and waiting room, a nice little fridge stocked with drinks, very comfortable, comfy seating, etc. (Also, I drive to the Georgetown office from where I live in central Austin... it's worth the trip. I would give a negative star if I could. The doctor told me I needed crowns on my teeth - I wasn't having any issues and 5 years later - still having no issues. Multiple dentists have cleaned my teeth since then, twice a year - no one thinks I need a single crown or any dental work at all! I immediately got a second opinion and was told my teeth were fine. I've actually had no crowns or root canals in my life. I was 50 yrs old then and still have had no problems in the last 5 years. I spoke to Rhonda today to have the balance of my account removed - they collected $140 from my insurance company and then expected me to pay the remaining $66 - this was for a Routine Exam! She said she would not remove that balance, so that will remain on my credit record and in collections. I am standing on principle and on doing what is right. I have been a business owner a few times and would never do business like that. One unsatisfied customer is going to do a lot more harm than any amount of money. So, I'm guessing this is not a new situation for them, and that's why they have this policy. Shame on RR Dentistry for putting a single woman on a limited income in such a situation. How many others like me must there be? Also, I've never been to a dentist where they escort you from your exam chair straight to a "Financing Consultation Area." I felt like I was at a used car dealership and was really offended. They told me that I could finance the thousands of dollars that was needed to put crowns on my teeth! Hopefully, they don't do that anymore, it was something I've never experienced at a dentist's office before or since. This is really aggressive salesmanship and I wouldn't ever trust them to do what is only necessary. Did they say you need some crowns? Maybe you only needed one - or maybe NONE, like me. I really like this dentistry. Everyone, from the reception at the front desk to all the staff and Dr.s, are so friendly and professional. They have what I'd consider "state of the art" equipment and employes that know how to use it effectively.
