One big issue I have with Wolf Ranch Dental is that they push HARD to get a deep cleaning done. When they came in ( not dentist) and checked my gums with the tool they use, she poked hard and made my gums bleed. My gums don't bleed when I brush them and rarely bleed when I floss. Since I was 18 I've been told I have deep pockets and every dentists over the last 30 plus years tell me the same thing. I even told them that and it was a continued push from the dentists to the checkout person all pushing that I need to get the deep cleaning done. Wolf Ranch excels at installing crowns in the same day that you need one. They make them in house and love that you don't have to get a temporary crown and come back later to get the permanent one put in. Find a practice that will listen to you and realize that pushing a procedure to just make money is not necessarily in the best interest of the patient. read more

I would avoid this place unless you have no other options. There is a general sense of miscommunication between the staff themselves so every visit is extremely inconsistent in terms of the procedure, billing, and next steps. I have never been to a dental office where the technical staff greeting you doesn't know what procedure you're actually getting and starts communicating something else completely, and this has been multiple times. You constantly need to be your own advocate each visit to make sure they do not take advantage of you. One example is that I was misled in pricing for a procedure after talking to multiple staff and providing insurance information and signing off on it. On the day of the actual procedure another staff member then told me it's 1,000 cheaper than what was expecting. Apparently no one bothered to apply insurance benefits until the morning of. I give them the benefit of the doubt but I honestly feel cannot recommend this place. They are also constantly booked so follow up appointments will always be pushed back due to scheduling. They are blessed to be in the location that they are but they unfortunately do not respectfully serve the community and give customers the care and treatment they deserve. Also bed side manner is simply not there, generally patients asking a question or clarification is a huge inconvenience for the dentist. read more

Hania Alkudmani, is the dentist they have on staff , she has horrible reviews. I cannot recommend this dental practice based on my experience. I underwent a periodontal procedure here that was one of the most traumatic healthcare experiences I have ever had. Throughout the procedure, I was visibly in pain, crying, and experiencing significant anxiety. Despite repeatedly expressing my discomfort, I felt that my pain was not adequately addressed, and the procedure continued. During treatment, I was told I was causing the provider to fall behind schedule because I was struggling to remain still. I was also reprimanded for breathing through my mouth and told I was exposing the dental team to nitrous oxide. Near the end of the procedure, I was warned that if I moved, a "very large needle" could go somewhere it should not, which only increased my fear while I was already distressed. I also sustained an injury to my tongue during the procedure. Following treatment, I experienced ongoing jaw and ear pain and never received a follow-up call from the office to check on my recovery. I brought my concerns to the practice and requested that they review what had occurred. I also disputed the charges with CareCredit, which ultimately reversed the charges after reviewing the documentation I submitted. Despite knowing the details of my experience and despite my ongoing concerns, the practice has continued to support the provider involved and has now referred the disputed balance to a collection agency. Instead of working with me to resolve what I believe were legitimate concerns about my care, I have been left to defend myself while continuing to deal with the physical and emotional effects of this experience. Patients deserve to be treated with compassion, respect, and appropriate pain management--especially during surgical procedures. When I first moved here, I went to Wolf Ranch Dental and my first impressions were super bad vibes right when I walked in the door. I waited and of course they were about 20 minutes late. Then they came and got me, took X-rays then sat me in a room. I waited and waited and continued to just have bad feelings. So I just got up and left. I had never done something like that, but I had the opportunity because of the insane wait time and I am so glad that happened! Now I've continually seen bad reviews, and a Facebook post regarding their service and up selling - I'm so glad I got out of there! The office is not very nice, the people were not very nice and for a new patient to not have any friendly conversation... I'm out! I arrived for a cleaning appointment. After a host of x-rays and a dentist not requested or on my insurance, she claimed I needed a deep cleaning of my entire mouth. I went the next day to my periodontal hygienist who had cared for me. She examined me and said, NO WAY! I had no such pockets and no bleeding except that caused by using her instrument to incite it. The absolute worst. Please listen to all the reviews that they will scam you and your insurance when it comes to billing. They refused service after I told the manager I hope she never encounters herself with someone like herself for the way she treated us. The next day they collected payment and called to bring my child in. When we called to ask why insurance had not been billed and discrepancy in payment collected they refused service saying manager felt triggered. I left Wolf Ranch Dental Group thankful I'd found them and thankful for Yelp guiding me through a dental emergency. My elderly mother had a tooth break loose on a Thursday night. NOTE TO THOSE NOT FAMILIAR: A LOT of dentists take three day weekends. So, finding one on a Friday was a challenge. Add to that finding one on a Friday without an appointment? I thought mom was going to be in discomfort for days until we could find someone on Monday. But, I called Wolf Ranch Dental Group they actually gave us two options for time slots to come visit that day. The staff and dentists put my mom at ease -- in fact made her very comfortable. The extraction she said was painless and she was eating again later that afternoon. The experience was a relief not just for her but her worried son, I'm glad to say. We will return there. read more

Update: 6-3-24 By the way, I found that their unnecessary, harsh and expensive "deep cleaning" ended up breaking the back of my front tooth. I now have to go to another dentist (a reputable practice unlike Wolf Ranch Dental) and have it fixed! It has indeed been a rocky experience with this office. BUYER BEWARE! They force you to take X-rays when you just had them 6 months ago and showed them the previous X-rays! They refuse to see you if they don't take an astronomical number of X-Rays, some of which are "2D" style, which they say they verified with your insurance that they would cover it, and you find that your insurance company doesn't cover it. Then they lay you down on a chair, check their massive multitude of X-rays and scam you into doing a deep-cleaning special periodontal procedure they say your insurance company covers and then print out something for you that has fake numbers on it that your insurance will be estimated to pay. Next, you get your insurance company on the phone, and you find that they don't cover the procedure (as this dental office's fake printout says that your insurance covers). The insurance company nicely picks up their phone and calls this dental office and they DENY everything. Do you smell a rat.....? Everyone on Yelp is saying the SAME THING. The reviews are all exhibiting the same scam! I, for one, am filing a formal complaint with my dental insurance company. This place is actively engaging in malpractice and fraud. Dr Conway misadjusted a crown she made and I had bite pain for 3 mos, plus she used an excessive amount of Novocain for numbing because she is bad at getting the area numb. Dr Young was no better, he did 2 unnecessary fillings and wanted to pull a tooth because I wasn't willing to pay for a"special" crown. Went first a second opinion and there was nothing wrong with the existing crown or my tooth. Filed complaints against both with ADA! Can't stand this place and how they made me feel. First, I showed up on time for my appointment and was told that they double booked me and were not able to see me, which was really frustrating since I took off the afternoon from work. I came back later that week to be worked on. When I checked in, the front desk girls saw my email on my paperwork (I work for a notable local celebrity who has an apparel company). They started asking me if I actually worked for Person A that person's company and if I could bring them free shirts. It made me feel really comfortable as there were other people in the office and I don't necessarily want everyone and their grandma knowing what I do for a living. I waited around 20 mins was pretty long but whatever. The whole time, everyone in the waiting room could hear those same girls gossiping about their job, people they work with, etc. SO unprofessional. Then, when I finally went back to get my free dental cleaning (covered by insurance), I was told that they couldn't do the regular cleaning and that I needed an additional max cleaning and some other stuff which was basically jus an upsell. They were really pushy, saying that I HAD to have it. I didn't feel comfortable, especially because I went in thinking I was getting a free cleaning only to be upsold a $400-$500 service. I ended up going to another dentist that I trusted but was a further drive and they told me none of the stuff that Wolf Ranch Dental told me was true and they were just tying to get me to spend more and avoid the free cleaning. I've gone to the dentist every 6 months since I was a young child. I never miss. I've had one cavity in my life. I had a dentist I loved in N. Austin, but moved to Georgetown so decided to try this place to get somewhere closer to home. I'm 43 years old. They tried to sell me braces (I had them in high school). They took pictures and X-Rays and told me I had Periodontal Disease and needed a deep clean...which would cost me almost $2000 even with my insurance. When I said I couldn't afford that, they wouldn't do a regular cleaning and sent me on my way. The entire time I was there they were trying to sell me things. I just wanted my 6 month cleaning. Took the drive to my regular N. Austin dentist and got a clean bill of health. Really sad when healthcare is a business not a service. Needless to say I won't be back. read more

For various reasons I've seen 6 different dentists in the past 3 years...my dentist retired, tried his replacement and found a dentist closer to home who then went on maternity leave while I was in the middle of getting a new crown..., so, many professionals looked at my teeth. Dr Youngblade did the exam and after X-rays and told me that I need deep cleaning with scaling, planing, and an antibiotic wash. All because my gum has receded...I'm 69 years old. My husband, who has also seen a few dentists in the past 3 years was given the very same spiel the day before. Needless to say this is expensive, invasive, and not necessary. Also, there is no guarantee that the gum will grow back which could lead to multiple years of continued dental treatment. She also tried to sell me a night guard which no other dentist has suggested I might need. Wish I would have read the reviews first.. read more

The positives of this office is its location, and new-ness, and thats it. I can't imagine ever suggesting this office to anyone. Like others have mentioned they sell hard. Don't be surprised when they don't want to do your free preventative care cleaning and scare you into the 'deep clean' treatment for $200+. They also sell the upgrades to other procedures aggressively. We were also then owed money, as a dentist being one of the few 'medical' places that want you to pre-pay. Of course you must inquire/request/ push to get that over paid amount back, and then they ask if you want it to be a credit instead of money back. And word of advice to anyone who may be looking for a crown, they try to sway you with the CERC ones because it's a 'one day stop' type of thing, while they make the porcelain seem like a huge ordeal that you have to make multiple visits for. The CERC crown still required two more visits, so don't let your time factor into the decision. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. They are incompetent and will take advantage of you to make some extra money. I came here to get two teeth taken care of because they had broken and were putting me in extreme pain. First they said I could just have both extracted or if I wanted they could put a bone graft and membrane in if I wanted to get an implant later on. Dr. Conway made it clear that this was my choice. Then, I bet a breakdown of costs and they tell me I have to get bone grafts and membranes in both teeth, I no longer had a choice. I told them to forget it because that would be $1,000 more than what I agreed to. I just wanted both removed. After pushing back for days, they finally said they could remove both teeth. So had I not pushed back, I would've paid an unnecessary $1,000 more. That's the first example of them taking advantage of me. After I got my teeth removed by Dr. Young, who was very nice, I was told to make another appointment in two weeks, so I did. I assumed it was to see how I was healing from the extraction, so I told my work it wouldn't take long and I'd be in a couple hours late. I get there and they put me in the X-ray room and take images of my entire mouth, then Dr. Conway poked around in all my teeth and told me I need a root canal on my front tooth that would be another $1,000. She left and the coordinator came in to discuss pricing. I felt like she was a sleazy car salesman. She said if I got the root canal that day she'd take off $200. What??? Is this a dentist or a car dealership? After being there almost two hours for no reason, I told them I had to leave and get to work. A week later I get an explanation of benefits from my insurance that the dentist billed them for the X-rays that I did not agree to. At that point, I was done with this place. They don't know what they're doing and they're just trying to make money off your pain. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else read more

I had the same bad experience as other reviewers here. Had 2 prior visits with Dr. Kim. All went well. He was nice and competent. The hygienists were inexperienced and did not do a good job polishing. However I went back for my next cleaning (12 months after initial exam). First problem - was told Dr. Kim left (disappointing that I was not informed ahead of time - was only told after I was in the chair). Second problem, Dr. Young did my annual exam and found bone loss, periodontal disease, many deep pockets and recommended a deep cleaning. They would charge me $1200 for that and my out of pocket would be around $600. And I should come back every four months. How could my teeth have gotten so bad in the 6 months from my prior visit? Terrible billing experience. I have been coming here for years and enjoy the skill and quality of the dentists however the past 8 months have been a billing nightmare. They changed and just about doubled a quote halfway through a treatment plan, didn't inform me what portion was out-of-pocket or that my benefits were maxed out, wouldn't return phone calls or emails, and then sent my balance to collections which I've never experienced. In 49 years of going to the dentist every 6-7 months and never having a cavity or any other dental issue, I decided to give this place a try because I could get an appointment quickly. I just needed a regular cleaning. This is by far THE WORST place I have ever been. Before the doctor even looked at my mouth or x-rays she said she would see what I needed in addition to my regular cleaning. She seemed to keep looking until she could find something "extra" to charge me and my insurance for. No cavities, but she said I needed a deep cleaning and the front office staff would come talk to me. The staff came back to tell me the deep cleaning would be $1200, but my cost out of pocket would only be $200 and I would need to come back another day. I declined and requested the regular cleaning for the day. The doctor refused to clean my teeth and said I could schedule the deep cleaning or she could walk me out the door. I overheard a similar conversation between a dentist and another patient in the office. This place is more interested in billing you and your insurance for services rather than patient care. If you're looking for a new dentist in the area, keep looking. read more

Validation on my suspicions! I had my 1st visit with a different dental office yesterday. My appt was X-rays (incl 3D), a comprehensive exam, pocket measurement and a cleaning. I left being told no issues, clean bill of mouth health. Unlike Wolf Ranch Dental's analysis, I DO NOT have periodontal disease, DO NOT require deep cleaning and DO NOT need to return every 4 months for extra cleanings, which BTW, invalidated the $20 cleanings under my insurance. The 3x a year cleanings cost $60 per. For the patients that don't require fillings, crowns, caps etc, Wolf Ranch Dental 'creates' other issues to get these patients paying extra. CAVEAT EMPTOR. They require you to pay 100% of the cost (including the portion that will be paid by the ins co) in advance for dental work. I started the work in Jan, Jun it was completed. I called their office several times asking about the claim filed with the insurance company. Always with an excuse. In Jul I finally receive EOB from insurance company and that's when I found out that they owe me over $600, the ins co portion. I ask for a refund. They say 7-10 days. No refund. I ask, they say, no refund. I asked the ins co to help out. Ins co asks. They say. No refund. See the pattern! Other reviewers have faced this same fate. We have lauded the medical profession during these stressful times and most have gone above and beyond. Sadly, this isn't one of them and it's upsetting to know how they have taken advantage of the situation. I had been going their 3 years and only in this 3rd year did these issue start. read more

I have only positive things to say about this place. I found this dental practice on yelp after having a friend of mine who recently moved here and was in desperate need of having a tooth pulled. This was the only dental practice that was willing to work with him being that he had no dental insurance. They pulled his tooth and the cost was very reasonable ($182.00) and they were also willing to see him right away. As I was waiting for my friend to get his tooth pulled, I decided to book an appointment for myself as I've been way overdue for a cleaning and check up along with needing some deep gum cleaning. I asked them if they would do everything in one visit and they said yes they could being they have everyone under one roof. I have to say I could not be happier, Dr. Ruth Lawn was very gentle and had awesome bedside manner, she made sure that I was comfortable being that they also found two cavities that needed to be filled. Let's get to the best part, I spent about 4 hours there (my choice) being I wanted to get everything done at one visit. My Dental Hygienist who I spent most of my time there with was nothing but a pleasure to be with. She made me comfortable, had awesome bedside manner, funny and caring, she made the whole experience enjoyable. I'm sorry, for some reason I don't recall her name? I'm not a big fan of going to the dentist at all, but after coming here? I feel a lot more comfortable going more frequently. Thank you for the great experience and look forward to seeing you guys in 3 months. If you don't have a dentist or if you don't have insurance, I would highly suggest that you give them a shot. Attempted a transfer to this location from South Park Dental for a regular teeth cleaning, and the doctor told me I had gum disease. Granted, the doctor is pushing 70 and his hands were shaking when he was "probing my gums" causing me to bleed more than normal. He then proceeded to have me consult with a rep in his office to up sell me on a "deep cleaning" for $800. The office also had me take more x-rays and mouth photos after doing this 5 months ago when their affiliate. My husband and I have stopped going to this office because of the hygienist, Brittney provides terrible service. my husband and I have almost left in the middle of the cleaning because it was hurting so bad. We also were told so many other clients were complaining about her too and have left that office. NOT to MENTION, I have referred my son, 34 years old with good healthy teeth condition to there, but Brittney charged $570 on his first visit for deep cleaning. He has Dental insurance, but she told him that was just discounted insurance and it was no good. It's been over 3 weeks ago now, my son submitted to them a copy of his copay which was $320 for the deep cleaning and asked for a refund of $250, but they have not even responded to his letter. My grandma first went to Wolf Ranch Dental for an exam and dental cleaning and says the office was clean and the people were nice, but everything changed when she needed to have periodontal surgery done by a Dr. Bingham who comes in from another location to do certain procedures. After 3 hours of periodontal care they never prescribed her any antibiotics or any instructions on aftercare which led her to a very painful serious infection for several days. She had to see an ENT specialist and needed a cat scan done. The office never showed any compassion, offered an apology or called to check on how she was doing. There is a high degree of incompetence at the front desk. If you try to call to make an appointment, well then, good luck. You may or may not get through. They don't ever answer the phone at the dental office. It always goes through to an answering service. If the answering service tries to connect you, good luck again. There is no answer. I had an appointment (my second attempt) to get my teeth cleaned. The office called my insurance provider, and then told me (after I had my x-rays) that they couldn't get verification from my insurance company. Funny, but my physician had no problem in verifying my insurance with the same insurance provider. I called, and had no problem with getting through to my insurance provider. My first visit here I got a fever blister (my first) and I should have stopped at that visit but Ashley was one of the best hygienist I have had. I started feeling a pain to my lip during X-ray. Then I saw the owner Dr Young to replace a crown. Turns out I had no cavities showing on the X-ray. I was there for 5 hours the first time before getting the temporary crown. Went back for permanent crown and after they put the crown on it was too light in color so I waited an hour for them to darken it. Might I mention I have 27 crowns in my mouth and never had this happen. After crown was put on permanently I noticed it was very rough to touch but I had been there so long I decided not to mention it and thought it might improve. Turns out also that food sticks to that tooth. I called the office with my dissatisfaction and Dr Young called me back. He told me since I had selected the lower price of $995 for the metal with porcelain cover instead of paying $400+ more then that was the reason for the rough crown. Are you kidding me I have never paid as high as $995 for a crown and the 27 I have are all very smooth as porcelain is. Some of mine as also metal with porcelain and some all porcelain. If I could give this place a zero star I would . A couple of years ago I can in and saw dr Michael young . He even gave me his personal cellphone number ( weird right ?) well I had sensitivity on my front tooth he then said I needed six route canals and did seven crowns on my front 7 teeth . I had beautiful veneers that were on my teeth for almost 8 years . I have now had his crowns for two years and two of them broke off one braking my tooth underneath and I had to get posts put on both and new crowns so more money . I spent over 25,000$ with dr young for him to F up my mouth entirely where it has made me depressed and just needing more work . He shaved my teeth under berth down to nothing which is why I needed posts when the crowns fell off . I literally went into he office for my front right tooth number 8 because of sensitivity too hot a cold : and he decided I needed all of this unnecessary work. And I waited 4 months for the "right set of crowns to come in " because the first set were like chicklet teeth , I needed them longer like my old smile . He then got another set a month later which were like horse teeth they stuck out onto my bottom lip and then the third set I just settlers with . I would absolutely never see this office if I was you I hope someone can learn from my lesson ! read more

You hate the dentist, don't you? I get it--everyone does. It smells like medicine, the drills make a scary noise, and the novacaine turns your lips to Jello. But wait. There's a dental group you will LOVE. Wolf Ranch Dental is far and away the best I have ever experienced in all my many years. Amazing is the only word that comes to mind. Dr. Vaughn is absolutely amazing....and sweet. My husband and I are both having extensive work done, and we couldn't be happier with Dr. Vaughn. She exhibits extremely high standards, and gently and efficiently instructs her assistants in various procedures. But it's not just Dr. Vaughn who's wonderful. The entire staff, from John the office manager, on down, each and every employee is friendly and welcoming, and goes above and beyond to make sure your experience is perfect. But I have to tell you a secret. For the majority of my visits my RDA is Morgan, and she is just fabulous! Efficient, gentle, and friendly. It's always a joy to have her assist in my care. So stop being a chicken and call for an appointment. You will be happily surprised at how painless and nurturing a dental office can be. read more

I've been a patient here a year. Today was the last straw. I always have to wait (guys my time is worth something too!)but today was it. I came in for a 2:30 appointment with my hubs who had a 2:00 appointment. We both sign in and wait. Hubby got called right away but I knew I still had a wait. After a long while I realize everyone coming in was getting called. I checked my watch and I'd been waiting for 30 minutes. Just as I was about to go ask what was going on, husband came out done. If I was called now, he'd have to wait for me to see the dentist AND a cleaning- 1 1/2 hrs. Unacceptable. I went up to see what happened and they forgot to "sign me in". We just move to Georgetown about 1 year ago and needed to find a new Dental group near our home . Looked on yelp and Wolf Ranch Dental showed to have good reviews so my wife and I made appointments to have a our teeth checked and cleaned . I had the first appointment . X-rays were taken and the dental exam was done . All things went as you would expect Up until this point , in fact I was somewhat impressed . I was told that my teeth were all in good health but I have gum recession ( I am 66 years old it happens ) and that I should do a treatment plan to help. Then I waited about 30 mins while the clerk went to work up the cost of the plan , she returned with a cost of just short of $2,000.00 . I then told her I would want to think about it , but still needed to have my teeth cleaned . The clerk told me that I would have to talk with the dentist again . I said , ok bring her back in . The dentist came back in and basically told me that if I did not do the plan she could not clean my teeth !!!! She said , that if I had been a long term patient that she would do the cleaning !!! I should note that I have dental insurance which Wolf Ranch Dental agreed to accept . However WRD does not want to do the base work unless they can upsell you . This place does not care about your teeth just how much they can make off of you !!! read more
