I made an appointment with this dentist, but on the day of the appointment, I received a call informing me that my insurance was not accepted, which was incorrect due to them recording the wrong insurance. When I expressed my concerns and explained that I had taken the day off work, the receptionist responded that there was nothing they could do and suggested I reschedule. After much pleading, I managed to keep my appointment. Once I arrived, I was informed that the procedure I required would cost over $4,000. This was even more frustrating given that I had previously undergone the same procedure with them four years ago. At that time they offered a payment plan seeing how the average joe cant just fork over thousands of dollars. This time they inform me they did not offer payment plans and the finance representative was quite rude. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this dental office. read more

In short, it's so called 'deep cleaning' SCAM place. Avoid this place at any cost, otherwise expect to loose your time and money. In more details: I wanted to make just simple cleaning. According to other reviews, I was aware that this place is trying to sell you procedures that you don't really need, but this place located very close to my apartment and I was sure that I can stand the pressure and will be able to get what I need. But it was much worse than I expected!! Strictly to do with their financing, I strongly recommend you do NOT use it. I paid off the promotional balance, by paying $580 as a one time payment, I somehow made a $41 error. Because I was $41 short on this payment I now owe them the $41 plus a new late fee since I didn't realize it wasn't paid off plus now the finance charges of $464. Obviously I made a human error, but by making such a large final payment it's obvious I was attempting to pay off the balance, but because of my SMALL under $50 error I'm being penalized $464 MORE dollars. Yes in the end this is my fault, BUT they refuse to work with me at all. They will waive the $41 late fee in September that caused me to be short but they will not then remove the finance charge or discount it in any way. If I had not attempted to pay off the balance in full I would t be so upset. But the fact they were extremely rude and refuse to work something out is bad business to me. Sadly we had the money the day I had the procedure but because it was a large chunk of money the desk staff convinced me this smile generation 0% interest was the way to go. It feels like a scam only because I made this minor error and they won't help. In todays age if computers, digital bills, digital keyed in amounts, mistakes are going to happen. Good thing is that I will not have to worry about it again as I will never use this service or recommend it to anyone. If you know of a good dentist, please let me know! I'm now in search of a new one. Obviously and sadly I cannot return to this place as happy as I was with their service. Call me Karen, but come on y'all, $464 because I was $40 short is outrageous. I'm thankful that we called ahead to confirm our appointment and the amount they intended to charge. Elise and Alicia (Ally) were extremely rude and ignorant. The fee schedule they were working from was incomplete and stated so at the top of the sheet. Upon trying to get them to actually do their job they chose to interrupt and be disrespectful. They were attempting to charge adult fees for our child (and yes, on the sheet it discloses the age difference between adult and child, which our child is two (2) years under the adult age limit. They would not tell us the type of cleaning our child was to receive, and upon asking for more clarification Ally hung up. We called back and treated as if we were in the wrong for trying to get a complete picture of the fees they were trying to charge. I like my dentist, Dr. Megan's. He's pleasant and provides quality care and information. The only aspect I do not like about the clinic is the scent they use. As soon as you walk in the door, it hits you like a sledge hammer. For people with multiple chemical sensitivities it's very unpleasant. read more

I was referred to Round Rock Modern Dentistry by my usual dentist, as they were good enough to get me in for an emergency root canal before Christmas. Thankfully, I've got nothing but good to say! RRMD's front office staff was friendly and professional. Masks and distance protocol is followed. They clearly explained my treatment and payment options. I understand that things change that are out of the business's control, but I feel like when scheduling oral surgery, things should be confirmed with the doctors involved well before it actually happens. I came in towards the beginning of the month to see about get teeth extracted. I understood it wasn't a typical extraction as these were extra teeth that were below my gum line. Dr. Nguyen took a look at it and recommended their Oral Surgeon, Dr. Chiu perform the procedure because of the placement. I went ahead and filled out it paperwork and got a date for the end of the month. The office confirms oral surgery appointments twice, which is great. The first time called me it was about less than week out from the surgery to make sure it was still go and also confirm my out of pocket expenses. Everything was all good or so I thought. They then called me a second time, which was less than 24 hours before the surgery was suppose to take place, to tell me there's bad news and that the oral surgeon will not be able to perform the surgery because it's not something he typical does due to the placement. Seriously?? Less than 24 hours?? You couldn't have confirm with the surgeon when the surgery was originally scheduled or even when they called to confirm everything the first time around. I was completely livid and distraught because my husband come back from overseas to be able to take care of me and would only be here for a short timeframe. This is definitely not how a dental practice should be doing business. Unfortunately, I will not be going back to this office and I suggest nobody else does either. read more

So I show up for my appointment and front desk says we cancelled it. my entire family have been going here multiple years. I've had problems with the front office staff booking appointments, miscommunication on costs etc and upcharges but my husband really liked Dr. Nyugen. I liked her too. I have the same insurance carrier but switched from a PPO to a DHMO so they cancelled my appointment today & told me I'm now considered a new patient & they won't take my insurance...same Carrier Cigna and Cigna not me put them as my primary thats how I started going there years ago when I had a DHMO then switched to PPO (it costs alot more but we all needed work done). So I called last week to get a deep clean, but also wanted veneers and teeth whitening. Seriously pissed off I took time from work that I won't get back and I get to Drs office & they tell me insurance company said they aren't primary so they cancelled me and left a message today...i dont answer personal calls at work. I called Cigna when I left and the rep pulled up the reference number and said the notes say they told the office I was covered. I will never go back, nor will my husband or son. I'm still so hurt and just really sad at the way I was treated by the front staff especially since I didn't get mad at them or loud and was treated like dirt...less than dirt because my insurance negotiated rates for cleanings aren't acceptable to them (why say you take the insurance) but all the services I wanted weren't covered anyway & wouldve paid out of pocket..their loss. read more

The only thing I didn't like & that seemed very odd, was that the dentist (Dr. Khimani) asked me to hold the suction device in my mouth while she was cleaning my teeth. I have been going to the dentist regularly for about 50 years and have never had to do that before. I'm assuming it's because the dentist cleaned my teeth instead of a hygienist. Also, she didn't put a bib on me to prevent water/cleaning treatment from getting on my shirt (it did). Other than that, Dr. Khimani explained everything really well and was very pleasant, and not rushed. I told her I was concerned about my teeth being yellow, so she scraped my front teeth more after the cleaning, which helped the stains not look as bad, so I really appreciated that. She explained the process of in-office teeth whitening very well, if I decide to choose that option. I had made my appointment for my son. No one called to confirm our appointment. I had to call a couple times to get any information about how much out of pocket it would be. First time, the office manager was out the office but would call me back. No one ever did. Then I called the day prior to our appointment. I got two different amounts. One amount of $260 vs $476. When I came in the day of the appointment, they wanted me to change to an oral surgeon on a different day. I had taken off of work for this. Given the fact that I had called the day prior no one mention this. They state you don't talk to the office people but a call center. The dentist didn't review the extractions till he was doing it. He had to call the oral surgeon to confirm that the teeth that were going to be pulled were correct. This was after he had numb my son fully. If I hadn't taken the day off from work plus set up my son for his braces, I would have looked for a different dentistry. read more

Round Rock Modern Dentistry and Dr. Nguyen are amazing. I needed to find a new dentist after moving from south Austin to the Round Rock area and luckily found one very close to where I live. I always love the ease of booking appointments online and RRMD offered that. It was easy and simple. Once I got to the office, I filled out some forms. They took xrays since I was a new patient and proceeded with my cleaning. They did find some things that were concerning but Dr Nguyen was able to thoroughly explain everything to me in a clear manner. She didn't pressure me at all and was respectful when I decided to wait a little bit due to financial reasons. I felt completely safe getting my xrays and teeth cleaned during covid. So happy to have found this place thru my insurance and yelp reviews, combined. They had such quick availability I was immediately in for my x-rays and could have had my crown done the same day if I wanted. Seeing as how my prior dentist had a 2 month waiting period, I appreciate the staffing and availability. Front desk chick (sorry I am blanking on the name) was so wonderful - she called my insurance to figure out how much the crown would cost me, then called me back to provide a thorough breakdown. Wow. I've been searching for a kind and caring dentist for years since my relationship with my last dentist ended over commercial insurance availability. When I showed up at Dr. Nyugen's office with a tooth cracked down to the gum and in pain, they got me right in away in spite of the pandemic. They followed covid protocols to the letter and her kindness and care were evident. I left that day knowing I had found my new dentist. I'll apologize ahead of time if I got anyone's name wrong and I do apologize. I'm horrible with remembering names, unless you're a pet . I went back a few days ago to follow up on a long overdue cleaning and more cracked teeth were discovered - no doubt owing to the stress most of us are feeling these days. Here's where it became more of a team effort. I opted to have a crown for the worst tooth and was out of the office the same afternoon with a permanent crown. Dr. Nyugen's office staff is phenomenal! Thank you Roger for making the x-rays as painless as possible. My teeth were cleaned by the amazing hygienist, Nicole. And guess what? She actually stopped when I was uncomfortable. Twice. She applied a topical numbing gel and waited to make sure I wasn't experiencing any discomfort. I have sat white knuckled through almost every dental cleaning before this one. From start to finish, I was genuinely cared for, all my questions were answered and I have to shout of to Diana, who walked me through the entire crown process, answering all my inane questions and letting me observe the entire crown creation process. At some point in the process, we engaged in meaningful dialogue and connected on a very human level. Diana could have gone about any number of tasks while I was waiting, but she stayed and (virtually) held my hand throughout the whole process. She made sure I was comfortable and stopped at one point to ask Dr. Nyugen to administer more local anesthetic before continuing. I knew what was happening each and every step of the way which greatly helped to alleviate my anxiety. Thank you Diana!! In one afternoon, every member of this team unraveled years of dental phobia. Wow! I walked out with my new permanent crown, squeaky clean teeth and the assurance that my new team would be there for me now and down the road, for routine care and emergencies. The dentists here seem competent at first, and are really very caring. The problem comes from being told "continued pain is not possible after a root canal". Sorry, but I finally had a different dentist confirm there was a problem, I've had pain for 18 months since the root canal! The other MAJOR problem is that Dr Strong, the endodontist who did my root canal told me I wouldn't need pain medication for afterwards; I spent the entire next day trying to find someone to give me a prescription for ANYTHING stronger than ibuprofen. Don't believe any medical professional when they tell you things like this, get a second opinion! The last straw came with my most recent cleaning; I left feeling like I needed to brush my teeth because the new technician was completely incompetent. read more

Everyone was a pleasure to work with! My daughter needed her wisdom teeth out and making the appointment was easy. The woman at the front desk was friendly, efficient and organized and COVID safety measures were thorough. In addition to the professionalism, everyone was extremely friendly and welcoming. Dr. Chiu was thorough in explaining the procedure, showing me the x-rays and educating me so I would know what to expect. My daughter was very comfortable with him. He was easy to talk to and he was patient in answering all my questions. His assistants were great as well. The best part is that my daughter recovered quickly. I've been seeing Dr. Megens this year and really like him. However, the billing practices of this office are a bit deceptive in my opinion. I noticed a large discrepancy between what I paid for a crown versus what my insurance EOB explained that I should have paid. When I called to clarify, I was told that the ceramic crown that I got in office was not covered by insurance (an upcharge to the standard porcelain crown). This was never properly explained to me in the office or else I would have never opt'd for something that was not covered under my insurance. Especially which such a huge price difference. I was told a note would be placed in my chart to only offer me standard procedures in the future? Whatever that means. Honestly, I am a disappointed that this was my experience. So it's been 2 years and I tried this location again. Hoping they have a new dentist now and everything settled down. The X-ray tech and doctor were very friendly but the hygienist didn't clean my teeth very well at all. She didn't floss nor use the water-pick to floss... she didn't do the fluoride I paid for, and was in and out within probably 10minutes at most. Check out was long, as I waited for the girl at the desk to finish a phone call for ten minutes, while the other person at the front desk (a male) ignored me (and everyone else who walked in.) So, maybe he doesn't work front desk?? Not sure, but he could have at least acknowledged the girl who walked in. Next, I scheduled my Onlay procedure appointment and they said they'd do the fluoride at the next appnt., since they forgot this time. So, I return feeling uneasy about going back for the Onlay, but I like the doctor and have already done all of the xrays and everything, so I went. After trying twice to get the small Onlay on my tooth, the dentist said she couldn't get it and needed to just do a filling instead, since such a small portion of tooth it wouldn't stay with the Onlay. So, tooth fixed, again the doctor is very nice and knowledgeable, so I felt fine with the change of plan. I left and realized they again forgot to do the fluoride. Don't they make a note of this on their treatment plan?? Billing was an issue too, as the filling is so much cheaper than an Onlay. They were supposed to refund my card around $400, which I still have yet to see(2weeks later). So much for giving this place another shot. Update: new staff and temporary doctors are not friendly. Went in for appointment for a filling/onlay and dentist couldn't even muster a smile when she looked at me. I heard the staff talking about how they "did their first crown today!" Not reassuring, when already on the fence after my last cleaning when I ended up with a rude and abrasive hygienist, then found out about the changes in staff and doctor. This was my very first visit and it was outstanding. From the genuinely friendly front desk girl, to the awesome dental assistant, Julie. In October 2019, I visited this dental office for composite fillings. After my appointment, I was informed by Dr. Linh Nguyen to call if my bite felt off. After numbness wore off on both sides, my bite did not feel normal as prior to the procedure. On the following day, I contacted the Dental Office. Later on that day, I visited for a bite adjustment. After Dr. Nguyen adjusted my bite, I informed her the bite still felt off. Dr. Nguyen then performed another adjustment. This time drilling the top and bottom on the right side. After doing so, I noticed a tooth that falls inwards on the bottom left was now colliding a tooth above. These two teeth did not collide prior to composite fillings or a bite adjustment. I then informed Dr. Nguyen and was informed I'd need a night guard and braces. During the appointment, it felt as though my feedback was not taken seriously. I continued to express these concerns and before I knew it Dr. Nguyen was venturing away from me, now standing in the doorway. As of March 2021, I started to develop facial numbness, jaw pain, popping in ear, tension when opening mouth to eat, facial pain, ear pain and was informed my mouth does not open and close on a straight angle. It however, deviates to the right. I have since been diagnosed with TMJ. I initially chose this place because the reviews were good. I'd like to also add that my face is no longer symmetrical, its now asymmetrical; round on one side and slated on the other. TMJ (Temporomandibular joint) is the result of an uneven alignment. In 2019, TMJ was not an issue for me. In December 2019, I visited another Dental Office for an Ortho consultation. With this in depth analysis, there was no feedback in regards to TMJ. Please go somewhere else, do your research, trust your instincts, and carefully chose a Dentist for procedures. Although I have Dental Insurance, most TMJ Specialist only take a form of cash. I'm currently unsure of how to fix something that could have been prevented. Seeing a TMJ Specialist would cost thousands of dollars. read more

Everything was going fine until they got me going regularly. Going in today Nicole (the hygeinist) had added on several extra procedures to my cleaning to the tune of $140+ above what my insurance would cover. I had not been aware of this until I had taken time off work and arrived for the appointment. I am in disbelief that they would loose a customer over this...but they did. Another update since it has been 2 years and another dentist is here, her name is Dr Nguyen and she's amazing. First of all she has very small hands which makes it more comfortable to have dental work done. She has a good bedside manner and was very compassionate to my husband who has terrible claustrophobia. He needed a few hours worth of work in the chair and she was very accommodating to ensure he felt comfortable. She did a fantastic job of explaining everything and taking breaks when needed. I spent many years looking for a good dentist. I finally found a home at Round Rock Modern Dentistry with Dr. Nguyen. I have seen a couple of other dentists there, and they have been just as great! I am very sensitive to pain and they make sure I can't feel anything before beginning any procedures. I like that they make their crowns on site so I don't have to get a temporary one and make a return visit. I highly recommend RRMD. read more

My insurance assigned me this office. Multiple neighbors warned against it. Basically the type of place you go in for a cleaning and they claim you need $2000 in services. I get my teeth cleaned every six months; I've never been given a deep periodontal cleaning which was the recommendation today and coincidentally not covered by insurance. I was there for an hour and got my X-rays and an exam, but did not get my teeth cleaned. I did not want to make a move on the perio level cleaning but just wanted to ensure I got some cleaning done while I got a second opinion. Ultimately I was told if I could not go against the treatment plan. The wild recommendation was for removal of an impacted wisdom tooth. I already had two removed and the oral surgeon said to leave those other two because they could result in a broken jaw or complications if removed five years ago. Ultimately a complete waste of time off work. Do not recommend. I booked a second opinion at another dental office that actually gives you options on what cleaning without up charging you. read more

Dr. Nguyen was very friendly and adjusted the height of my filling as well as added desensitizer to my tooth/gum line and prescribed Decadron .75 to see if that would help. I will be updating this review and letting her know if I continue to have pain. What a waste of time and crappy service I received from Dr. Melody Salehi. I have gone to Dr. Frank for past several years and he was amazing. Unfortunately he no longer works here and looking at reviews, I was expecting a great service from the new doctor named Melody Salehi. What a waste of 2 hours and poor service. I was there just for a regular check up and cleaning. First they asked me to pay my copay even before they offered me service. After one hour of wait, she checked my teeth just to tell me I had plaque on my teeth and I will have to pay couple hundred dollars to clean. Over past 21 years, I had never had a dentist who has denied basic cleaning saying I have plaque and so I need to pay extra hundreds of dollars for basic cleaning. She did not even tried to attempt to clean and when I refused then she tried to sell extra services that I no longer needed. Extra 200 dollars for a basic cleaning that is covered by insurance ?
