When you visit a takeout eatery named Roast Duck Kitchen - you order the roast duck. In fairness, on my initial patronage, I got the excellent roast chicken. Today, I got the Roast Duck Plate; a hefty meal and a deal at $18. You have a choice of rice, fried rice, and ( if I recall correctly ) cake noodles. Plate comes with a crispy gau gee ( think it had shrimp ) and your entreè on a bed of cabbage. The duck was good, but the star was the fried rice - very generous with the pieces of char siu. I haven't been a vegetarian since earlier in the year...and I haven't had much duck, so it was fantastic to consume. Duck ranks high on my list of favorite animal proteins: Pork, duck, then beef. They do catering, as well. Hours: 900a till 400p, Tuesday thru Sunday. Closed on Mondays. Lots of parking stalls in the Aiea Shopping Center on the corner of Moanalua Road and Aiea Heights Drive.

Gau gee (GBD and packed w/ filling)

After some of our group toured the Arizona Memorial, we decided to stop by RDK in Aiea Shopping Center (same center as Aiea Bowl). RDK was on my list from watching local You Tubers, Amanda & Felix. Unfortunately, they ran out of duck and char siu when we arrived early afternoon. Nonetheless, they still had hainan chicken, roast pork (not pictured) and gau gee. The chicken was perfectly poached, and sauce had a ton of ginger & garlic. Secondarily, the pork was tender and the skin was crispy. The only downside was no hoisin sauce. Lastly, the gau gee were packed full of flavorful fillings. My past experience with other places is that you are searching for meat. The lady in front was super nice, and the food came out quickly. There is no inside seating. However, there are tables located throughout the complex to enjoy your food. I'd like to return earlier in the day to try the duck and char siu. I've heard positive things about those items.

Family was craving some Chinese BBQ and found this place. On the 2nd floor of the plaza. Takeout only. Can order meat by the pound or as a rice plate. Can see the roast pork, duck, chicken on display walking in. I got the lunch to go option which includes choice of meat and choice of rice with one gaugee. I got the roast pork and fried rice. Big portion. Fried rice was also made with the roast pork to give it some flavor. Not the best roast pork I've had but wasn't bad. I also got half a duck and half pound of roast pork. The duck had a juicy and tender meat. Good skin and goes well with the duck sauce they give. The roast pork had crispy skin but the pork it self was tough and dry. Low fat to meat ratio. Decent Chinese bbq place and does get busy with people waiting outside. No seatings here but plenty of parking.

The BEST roast duck and roast pork EVER!! Fast and friendly people! Nice area to wait!

A hidden gem! Well known in the Aiea community for its fresh meats! This place is a grab & go so there's no seating. Their menu is simple with fresh roasted pork, chicken, charsui, and duck. You can get it by weight or with rice or noodles as a plate. We opted for 1lb of charsui, 1/2lb roast pork. Both were super fresh, so fresh we had to wait for our order to be made. We also got their crispy gau gee which we devoured before we could even get a picture! It was super hot & fresh, crispy on the outside and filled with pork filling that wasn't too salty. The charsui was definitely a favorite. Super juicy and flavorful with barely any fatty pieces. My hubby was very impressed! The roast pork was also juicy and tender with the crispy top. Again, not too much gelatinous pieces. Overall, we will be back to try their cake noodles!

Lunch special with roast chicken and fried rice

Excellent meats! The roasted chicken, pork, duck were all tasty. I think the roasted pork was my favorite but not the best for you. Roast duck and chicken were also very tender. They have lunch meals for $17-18.50. We got the roast chicken with crusty cake noodles. I think we didn't strategize on how to pour the sauce over the noodles or just wanted more sauce to help soften the noodles. Crispy gaugee came with the meals but you can order a separate order of them too. Great take out place. They're pretty busy but the orders came out quickly.

I visited the Aiea shopping center to get my boys haircuts. We had some wait time so I passed by Roast Duck Kitchen. I remembered someone raving about this place so I decided to give it a a try. I ordered the oyster sauce chicken cake noodle, 1/2 pound char siu, 1/2 pound roast pork and a 1/2 duck. I went to mu car to eat and everything buy the cake noodle was cold. The roast pork skin was rubbery instead of crispy. The bottom of my plate of 1/2 duck and char siu was refrigerator cold. I went back to Roast Duck Kitchen and asked the lady at the counter if they serve their food cold? She said yes! In my 50 years of life, I have never had duck, roast pork or char siu served to me cold. I should have read some of the reviews before spending $80‍

half roast duck - $20

I was in the area and ordered half a roast duck - $20 and half pound roast pork - $10 worth. Both tasty and juicy. It was kind of hard to place my order since the woman at the counter was on the phone for awhile. Finally another person was able to take my order. It took a while for my order to be made eventhough no one was in front of me. I was the only one standing in line. The woman was still on the phone and moved toward the window. A woman and young girl came in after I placed my order and they told me to wait outside. The woman did not know what to order and asked a lot of questions. After it looked like she she ordered she moved closer to the door. They did not ask her to wait outside so I poked my head in and waited a few seconds by the door and my order was ready. So back to the parking lot.

The roast duck was okay, but the roast pork was on point. Loved the crispy gau gee, that was one of the best I've tasted.

Got their yummy roast duck and ginger chicken combo. Plate comes one piece of gaugee. This totally hits the spot and I absolutely love the dipping sauces for their roast duck!

Came here around 1:30pm and the roast duck and bbq pork was sold out. Decided to try their roast pork so got a 1/2 lb. Pictures looked great but it wasn't that good. The skin was not airy and crispy. The meat was very tough and flavor was lacking. So my 2 Star rating is for the roast pork only.

Roast duck is good but take out service is slow as hell. If you're on your 1/2 or even 1hr lunch break, better go to McDonalds next door.

There's a lot of parking in front or just down the slight hill which opens to a bigger parking lot. The dining room looked brightly lit, clean and inviting. No other customers were there & the rest of our party didn't come yet either. Our table could seat possibly 8 people but there was only 6 of us so we removed some of the chairs so everyone could sit comfortably. We ordered the following: * Char sui fried rice - nice taste with the char sui mixed within the fried rice. * Peppered beef w veggies - good taste, the veggies consisted of bell peppers and onions. * Walnut shrimp - nice shrimp pieces fully covered w the cream/sauce served w walnuts on the side. Nothing fancy; tasted like others that I've tasted before. * Oyster sauce chicken over cake noodles - wish there was better chicken pieces and more sauce for the cake noodles. I had to scrape up whatever sauce was on the serving dish to top off the cake noodles. * Pork chops - this was one of my favorites as it was cooked perfectly and tasted great. There was this green onion & jalapeño mix on it but I don't like spicy so I stayed away from the jalapeños. Crispy gau gee - it was small and it tasted ok. Have seen bigger, filled gau gee. Service - the ladies came around frequently to refill our water glasses. We were given take out boxes to bring home the leftovers. Their sweet and sour sauce was good. I spooned that over everything. Prices - seemed reasonable enough Would we return? Maybe but if we really wanted to eat Chinese food, we probably would go somewhere else. Would we recommend this place? Sure, as everyone has their own taste. I understand this is the 3rd owner and I wouldn't want them to close up because of my review. You'll just have to go & try it...select what you like to eat and see for yourself. This review is just my own opinion. Good luck to Golden Wheel.

First, the price was pretty high compared to the amount of food they served and the flavor of their menu. All the foods we ordered wasn't very flavorful either and they charged 3% for credit cards.
