This thing is an absolute flavor bomb. Stopped into Roast Sandwich Market in Moore County and ordered the General Tso Chicken on gluten-free bread and... wow. First bite I got the hit of fresh cilantro and crunch from the peanuts, then straight into that crispy chicken--perfectly fried on the outside and still juicy inside. The sauce is sweet, tangy, a little sticky, and so good it should probably come with a warning label. The gluten-free bread held up like a champ under all that goodness, which is a small miracle considering how loaded this thing is. Fair warning: you're going to need extra napkins. It's messy, it's drippy, and it is 100% worth every saucy fingerprint. Service did take a hot minute, but we landed right at noon on a Saturday, so the place was slammed. Even with the wait, I'd order this sandwich again in a heartbeat. If you're anywhere near Moore County, do yourself a favor and get the General Tso Chicken at Roast. I stopped by for the first time since they opened. Didn't go before because reviews were not good. As I walked in about 5 PM I noted the floors and tables were dirty from the lunch crowd. I ordered a brisket sandwich and wedge fries to go. I was looking forward to the sandwich. First, the brisket was in chunks on the sandwich with some as large as 1 x 2 ". It was dry and bland. I could eat only one or two bites, wrapped it back up and it went in the garbage can. Thank goodness the fries were hot and crispy or I would have starved. Wow. I've had their food twice now and am floored by their customer service and quality. The first time was delivered to my home and soooo good. (The pulled pork on Brioche ) and they knew enough about allergies to call and discuss an order for my dairy allergic son. They went out of their way to accommodate him and I'm so grateful. Today we stopped in for lunch and I had the Ramen. It was SO good. The smokey pork belly and amazing broth.... oh man. If you're in the area this place is a definite must try! I've lived in more than 6 states, traveled from one country to the next, attended food truck conventions, and I can honestly say I have never been to a sandwich shop where you can actually taste the freshness of the vegetables and meat. I actually got full off the first half of the sandwich cause it was so filling! It's a locally owned restaurant that just recently opened but branded like it's a chain (which I have no doubt they will be in the very near future) the owners are extremely kind and I can honestly say we will be coming back for more! Asked for their recommendation on what to order and decided on the General Tso chicken sandwich and my husband ordered the chicken ramen.
