Whispering Pies was a regular place to visit for the 2 years our daughter played volleyball for Sandhills CC. It was a must when we were back in the area to see our daughter played volleyball against SCC in beach volleyball. It was WONDERFUL! A.J. Is always the sweetest and made another great recommendation. I had a fall special, Blushing Pig, and my husband had the Meat Lovers. There is a picture that describes the pizza I had. It was delicious. They have made some changes since our last visit. Loved the pizza boards the pies were brought out on. If you are in the area, this is a comfortable little place with wonderful staff and delicious food. They have great pies for those needing gluten free and/or vegan. My mother loves them. Meat Lovers is red sauce base, sausage, pepperoni, bacon and ham. read more

Not a fancy setting but a good setting to have a slice and sit at the bar and watch a game on TV. The pizza was ok for a NYC standard. For this area the crust was slightly better than average. Sauce was not spicy and did not have a lot of taste. I have high expectations coming from NYC so I would not go out of my way to go there. The crust was a tad like cardboard and is not good when reheated. Best to have it fresh while in the restaurant. read more

I was looking for another pizza spot in the Southern Pines area and decided to give Whispering Pies a try. I ordered a 10" pepperoni and roasted red pepper pizza -- a good size for one person -- but the topping distribution was hit‑or‑miss. A few of the square slices didn't seem to have any roasted red peppers at all. The overall flavor was solid, just not particularly memorable. The crust had a pita‑like taste and texture: decent chew, but missing the standout character or wow factor I was hoping for. I'll probably stop by the restaurant in person next time and try a slice at the counter to see if it hits better fresh. read more

I used to get pizza here quite frequently a few years ago and recently picked up a few after a couple year gap. I don't know what happened, but without hyperbole, I threw this pizza out. It was....tasteless. It had cheap ingredients, tasteless cardboard crust...it was like pizza you'd get in a ball park for 12$ a slice only it didn't have the magic of the baseball game. So disappointing and expensive for the privilege of needing to buy dinner a second time. The positive part is that the employees were fab. read more

I needed a quick lunch while out at Sandhills Community College for an event, and this little shop is just over the hill. During lunch it's counter service only, but the staff was especially patient with this newcomer and quick to deliver my order back to the counter. I picked one of the lunch specials that included two large slices of thin New York style pizza as well as a fountain drink. I went with the special offerings for the day: pulled pork on one slice and barbecue chicken on the other. Both were tasty. There's a small dining area in front of the counter and another one around the bar in an adjacent room. Nothing special about the seating arrangements or provisions, but things were clean and neat. Besides the day-specific pizza offerings you can always get a slice of pepperoni or cheese pizza as part of your lunch special. This definitely seems like a good choice for folks around the college or the airport, though it does seem off the beaten path a bit for other visitors to the region. Were I a local, I could see giving this place a fair share of my business. read more

Poor customer service. Burnt calzones. They offered to give me a refund or remake. I've been there before and I used to love the place until now. I figured mistakes happen and I chose to have them remade. The woman at the counter told me " you might have to put them in the oven". No apology ... nothing... I asked her " what do you mean? They are undercooked? ". She went on getting defensive... telling me that sometimes in order to reach the right temperature they look like that. See the picture. Sad to see that there are so many people like her that should not deal with customers. What happened to satisfying a customer instead of having an arrogant attitude? All I expected was "I apologize for the inconvenience to have to drive back... here you go". Instead ... I had to hear all the reasons why calzones might get burnt??? ... she did not even care that she lost a customer! read more

A "real" pizza has a raised, bubbly crust...they now poke holes in it and it looks and tastes like cardboard. Seems like it comes in frozen like this but they say "No". It is a shame as we use to go every Friday...not anymore. Sad ! read more

This is the last time I place an order in this place, over an hour to get a pie of pizza. Do better

Horrible pizza ...like cardboard And abusive arrogant management that diesnt listen or care to prepare pizza as ordered with simple ingredients read more

We are regulars here. I am gluten intolerant. I am extremely sensitive to cross contamination. I have not had any issues eating here. My suggestion if you are ordering gluten free, ask for your pizza to be cooked a little longer. When their GF is not cooked enough, it's a weird consistency. But getting it baked longer, it's a big difference for the better! The workers are also always friendly. read more

Skip this place, 12 dollars for a tiny roll cheesesteak with no sides or drink included and hardly any meat in it. With a one dollar tip my bill was over 17 dollars for that and a small drink ! I like to support local small businesses but not when they overcharge. Back to that Jersey place I guess. read more

I get the cauliflower crust meat lovers pizza, my wife gets the cauliflower crust veggie. We share. We love it. We eat low carb, and the cauliflower crust allows us to have pizza on that diet. read more

Best pizza ever!!! My husband and I wait until we are in the area to have pizza because nothing else compares. Taste crust that is well proportioned. Saucing levels are perfect. Toppings are flavorful. Pick anything - you cannot go wrong. AND... the zeppoli?? Only complaint was the serving was so large and so good, I had a tummy ache from eating too many. So good!!! read more

I absolutely love Whispering Pies!!! I go almost every week and the Saturday team (AJ, Jamie, and of course the completely loveable Owner :-)) is always on point! Did I mention we go almost every week ;-)?!? There is a very good reason for this- The food is always delicious, and the familial energy I feel when I visit my favorite Saturday crowd makes my day complete. Thank you, AJ, Jamie, and all the Whispering Pies family, for helping enhance my life with your fantastic food and enriching love you have for your customers! It's nice to have a place like this in the area. The food is great, but so are the people. My first experience here was two years ago. Hubs and I had just moved here so we didn't know anyone and hubs was on a business trip, so I was alone with Covid and hungry. I called Whispering Pies to see if they delivered, unfortunately, they couldn't that day (the delivery person was sick, too). I explained my situation and the person on the phone--who I later found out was the owner--offered to bring my order to my car when I got there. Needless to say, we've been customers ever since. They have added a bar area since then, which is a cool place to hang out and have a drink (you can eat there as well, of course). The pizzas are tasty, with a thinner crust (which I prefer) and a very tasty sauce. We get the cheesy bread too, which is basically a small pizza crust with cheese and Italian spices on it. If you're looking for a real bread, get the garlic knots (but only if you love real garlic!). All in all, this is a fun place with great food and great people! read more

Great my pizzas New York is the best Closest thing to a real New York pizza in the area I'm ordering right now I'm hankering for a slice Bruce. read more

Best pizza in Moore County! This establishment is clean, maintained and makes the best Italian food. Pizza slices are large! Savory seasoning fills the sauces. Homemade Stromboli made daily. Beer and wine served in addition to soft drinks and tea. The management is new, friendly and engaged. Will not disappoint. read more

The staff was great and very attentive. The food was fantastic. Small inside, but very nice and clean.

Stopped in one day after church, thought we'd try something new. It was dead, we were the only ones there and it still took 40 minutes for our food to come out. Pizza was decent, but nothing to write home about. I'd give them another chance, maybe it was just an off day. read more

Love their pizzas but even more now! I don't know what they've done but the pizzas taste even better and the garlic knots are to die for delicious! Super buttery and lots of garlic read more

The pizza is good and consistent. I am always able to get my food relatively quick and the service is consistent.

Like their pizza's. Beer prices too high. Skip the subs, steak and cheese with peppers and onions, barely a quarter inch of meat. No cheese, onions or peppers and a cold pun. Took 1/2 of sandwich and put what little meat their was on the other half. Still not good. read more

Pizza is the bomb!!! Ingredients are fresh and delicious. You won't regret ordering your favorite pizza from them.

We love their pizza. The dough is great, but the sauce is even better. Get extra sauce. They have lots of toppings to customize. Inside they have a cute bar. We usually carry out, it one day we might stop in for a drink. read more

We usually love our pizzas from Whispering Pies. However, our last pizza did not meet their usual standards. Our 18" Greek pizza had very few tomatoes and even less spinach. Let's just say we were a little disappointed. Hopefully next time it will be better! read more

This place is in a super convenient location near Sandhills Community College and is one of my favorite places to go on my lunch break with my husband. They have fast service, wifi for customers and a clean facility. They also have fun pizza flavors and appetizers. Haven't sat outside but there's a nice covered patio as well. We tried the jalapeño popper pizza and it was so good and I think I'll be ordering that the next few times we go. The staff is really helpful and makes sure you're taken care of and the also offer discounts on certain days for teachers, military and more. read more

Finally got the chance to check this place out-will be back! Nice beer choices, menu variety, staff was friendly and we all loved our food. We like football so luckily we got a table on the side with tvs. Would be awesome if they had a tv or two outside cause it looked nice out there. read more

We decided to try Whispering Pies after seeing all the wonderful reviews. Upon arrival we took a few minutes to look through the menu. We ended up ordering a slice before committing to a whole pie. My goodness that one slice was quite delicious and we quickly ordered a whole pie. All though the food was good the customer service was quite awful. The lady handling the register definitely tries to up sell and charge more than stated on their menu. At first I thought it was just me but when I saw the way she treated a local it was definitely sad. I had better customer service expectations from this local pizza joint. read more

Great pizza. The crust, cheese and sauce are all balanced and the fusion of the three is perfect. A bit expensive for what you get, but consistently my favorite in the area. I only gave 4 stars because the last time I ordered the crust had no salt, the sauce was basically just tomato paste, and the toppings were not scattered well. 9/10 Times this place is good though. read more

Great service! The pizza was delicious, hot and fresh. I love the thin crust and the perfect amount of toppings. The medium pizza is the size of a large pizza at pizza chain restaurants. Super worth every dollar. I'm not whispering about the goodness...I am shouting!! read more

Great pizza, service, and food! Will definitely make this our local pizza spot. Outdoor seating looked cute but it was too cold to sit outside read more

Just Ok. The good: fresh toppings, lots of cheese, dough was crispy, and the red sauce was decent. The meh: the crust was not NY style, it was standard thin crust and lacked in developed flavor. We got a white pizza and there was not nearly enough seasoning. The bad: nothing bad. I've had better for the price but I've had worse. Not worth driving to go get for me. read more

Place seemed nice and clean, staff was friendly. I've only been for one visit and I will update once I go back for pizza. But...!!! My wife and I ordered wings. We were definitely disappointed. First they were $35 for 24 wings. That's about $14 more than competitors. Second, they were extremely over cooked. And third, they don't offer drums only or flats only. I understand this is a pizza joint, but you offer wings, and people are gonna eat 'em. With that all being said, highly over priced, and highly over cooked, you gotta have a low score. I'll look forward to updating once I try the pizza. read more
